Tip: If you don't have a tool to punch the races back in place..use a tow ball. Fit perfect and distributes pressure equally...been doing it for years. 👌

wrong about the shop press being the only way to remove this lower bearing, you can use a cold chisel set or park tool Co. make a lower steering stem remover.

This video is a money grab for shops did my friends bike tonight you don't need to press out the stem to get that tapered bearing off! Just ever so carefully wedge a chisel in between that bearing and the triple clamp then slowly tap from side to side up the stem and put the new on just put it on the stem and use the old one again to tap it down into place so it seats (lube it first and don't forget the dust cover lol

If you own a bike you should own a press. I bought a 12 ton press and it was worth every penny. I am rebuilding a 05 kx250 and I had to press out every bearing in the bike because its going off to powder coat this week. I have all my Pivot Works bearings on order they should be here by the time the bike gets back from powder coat.

The bearing races shrink due to the cold and so slide into the frame easier. Same for the steering stem.

can anyone help!!! i just replaced the bearings in me cr125 and the first nut (the one that makes the clamps loose or tight) is done up so tight because my clamps wont clamp togeather properly, the clamps are so stiff but the tripple clam assembely is moving around, so the bottom clamp and stem is not pushed up further enough, ??????????? and help would be mad =]

funny how he didn't remove handlebars, so how can you torque top clamp down to factory specs?, in a few words - you cannot with a basic spanner
