"Move the inner sleeve out of the way" how far? how much play? 1mm? 5mm? no idea how far to move it, all I am doing scoring it.. Spent a number of hours and only moves about 1mm which is not nearly enough...
These guys are way better across the board than allballs for needle bearings in my experience!
Pivot Works works great!
Maybe saying which way the oil seal goes on would be a tremendous help
These are absolute junk! 1/10 would not buy again.
Order this kit and shit don’t even fit the right way
Question I had three bearings now I have only 2 it's a ktm 2014 500cc excf 6days, don't I need three again? and the centre pipe is 2 long do i cut it to fit the 2 bearings? or buy another and cut to fit 3?
All new Pivot Works bearings going into the 2001/2003/2006 Frankinstien RM125. Swingarm, linkage, wheel bearings. When the steering bearing goes I'll be replacing with Pivot Works. Thanks for the great products Purchased at rockymountainatvmc.com
Great video. K.I.S.S.
So you only do the brake side bearing and call it good! No wonder when we order parts from companies like yours, the order is all fouled up and incomplete. MORONS
Work on a 400ex?
Make more 1988-89 TRX250R linkage kits.
Do not attempt this job without a Honda retainer ring tool !!!!!!!!!!!
How to order ? I'm from indonesia
For the retainer I used a snap ring plier set
OK. I'm looking for a linkage bearing kit for my Yamaha YZF 600 R....1997?
is this the same process for a 250r?
Where do the o rings go? I can't find a diagram or instructions anywhere...
arrow09 They will go inside of the grey/green collars. Some applications only use the o-ring on one side. It should have a groove for the o-ring. The leftovers are spares.
They go on the bloody floor when they rip out
Nicely explained
Have for 70-90 mm?
What size socket do you use to drive the bearing in?
Manufacturer tightness is tight as you can then another half turn lol
Would this be the same process for a 2007 Crf 150rb ?
Does it matter which direction the flat weird looking bearings go in? One side has a sharper edge than the other almost like the steel plates in a clutch pack
This kit is garbage
Agreed, worst wheel bearing kit ever.Would rather change out oem twice as often than have to use this crap.
@@NZ2STROKE 2 years later and still hate this kit. Seriously such a pain in the ass.
@@wonderful_ I just put them in and have ordered some other ones already.
I ordered one of these kits for my 2002 CRF450R and it didn't include the 12mm Showa Damper Rod Seal and 10mm ICS Piston Seal like it shows in this video
Taylor, please give us a call at 515-402-8000 and our Customer Service team will help you out. Thank you
Just a note subscribers don't like their feed blasted with bulk videos. It isn't what people like in the TH-cam community. This is why channels fail, you need someone to release a daily video at a consistent time. A well managed channel will get word of mouth, which causes likes and shares and that is what is key in this community and will bring your company a wave of new customers who may have never heard of you prior to someone sharing this video on Facebook or another platform. Great videos by the way. I know a few people who work for pivot works.
What are collars for ?
Which wrench size is used to open the upper triple t center nut.
a pro with a junk press
Why not install a grease fitting so grease can be put in periodically?
interesting topics....
What r these tools in the video
funny how he didn't remove handlebars, so how can you torque top clamp down to factory specs?, in a few words - you cannot with a basic spanner
He was wasting money get the stem pressed out so he couldn’t afford one lol
Tip: If you don't have a tool to punch the races back in place..use a tow ball. Fit perfect and distributes pressure equally...been doing it for years. 👌
Good video. Descriptive. One problem, though. Press the brake without something installed between the pads?! Uhh, that's gonna be a mess!
hell yeah
wrong about the shop press being the only way to remove this lower bearing, you can use a cold chisel set or park tool Co. make a lower steering stem remover.
When I tight my axle but even before specs. Its locks up my tire and I hear a grinding is this a sign of bad bearing?
right a real professional is he ? a real pro would have the right tools for a start and prob have a pair of gloves on for demonstration purposes also appropriate ppe ha ha ha!
Why did my bearings only last three months of light riding? I do trail riding with some sand pit riding. The wheel has play in it and I took off wheel to check bearings and they seem dry. Are they supposed to be packed with grease before install? If so,a seal would need to be removed to do so. So why not keep it loose till greased and installed? I was unaware that they needed to be greased. I bought all necessary tools to do job also.
can someone help me understand why he drained the inner fork oil in when taking it apart and then when putting the fork back together he filled the inner fork with oil and then bled it again? So my question is if you bleed the inner fork when rebuilding it, then why when taking the inner fork apart do you have to drain the oil? Thanks in advance
Thank you!
Just curious why at the end they said to torque the steering stem nut to spec but from the vid he just used a spanner?Pretty good vid though big help! Thanks
I didn't realize how shitty of a job this was gonna be..
Thank you thank you thank you such a help I just installed this kit in less than an hour! Recommend this kit to anyone
hello do you have to replace the center spacer every time you change the bearings or just when needed ?
how do you know when you need to replace bearings? Cheers, Daniel.
Dremel*
Cut the old bearing with a dermal tool...carefully so to not nick steering stem....freeze stem slide bearing in
This video is a money grab for shops did my friends bike tonight you don't need to press out the stem to get that tapered bearing off! Just ever so carefully wedge a chisel in between that bearing and the triple clamp then slowly tap from side to side up the stem and put the new on just put it on the stem and use the old one again to tap it down into place so it seats (lube it first and don't forget the dust cover lol
