I remember reading somewhere that the will of the dwarves was not as weak as men and therefore they did not turn into Nazguls but they started growing more and more greedy and began hoarding gold beyond all measure.... Moria had literal halls filled with nothing but gold, silver and priceless diamonds. This greed is what led to their downfall as Saruman recites in Fellowship of the Ring movie, "The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep" and this is how they accidentally awoke a Balrog which killed Durin VI and drove the Dwarves out of Moria.... Same went with Erebor (Thror, the king under the mountain, also had a ring) as they too had hoards of Gold which attracted Smaug and the firedrake too forced the dwarves to abandon Erebor...

That's why during the Hobbit events he went to Dol Guldur to gain territory and be able to have the Orcs and Goblins search the river. Saruman also knew this as he also had plans to search the Anduin for the ring that's why he helped in banishing Sauron from there so he could find it first.

Also yes the game is non cannon they said so multiple times including in the announcement for Shadow Of Mordor. It like the shining if the games good(which it is if a tad Grindy later) it is acceptable, plus they kept the must important message about the corrupting nature of power

      I am not sure that his body was ever even needed to resurrect him as a Wraith. I think his soul was corrupted enough for Sauron to just materialize his damned spirit as a Wraith.
      However, I found Isildur being one of the Ring-Wraiths rather... story-breaking. I am not the most knowledgeable guy when it comes to LOTR lore, but if I recall correctly, there was 9 Ring-Wraiths, because there were 9 rings given to human kings. As even this game states. And here they say that Isildur didn't become a Ring-Wraith because of one of the nine rings, but because of the One Ring. So either he was also one of the mortal men that possessed one of the 9 rings prior him donning Sauron's ring... or we have 10th wraith missing somewhere.

      If you are very well-versed in Tolkien lore, it's actually pretty easy to see the hints:
      - Suladân conquers Mordor and Sauron willingly surrenders, just like the events that play out with Ar-Pharazôn and Sauron.
      - Suladân's soldiers have wings on their helmets. Númenóreans and their descendants are famed with their wing iconography.
      - Suladân's chief advisor is Sauron himself. Just like Ar-Pharazôn three years after he brought Sauron back to Númenor in chains.

    "Oh, this game sucks, it's not faithful to the lore", "Tolkien would be rolling in his grave". GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! This is just an alternate timeline, if comic books can have multiverses than why can't LOTR; if it was canon then that's different but it's not. Tolkien didn't give a shit what would happen to his lore, he was just glad that people could read it and be inspired from it. He sold the movie rights early on and he was more interested in other legends and fantasy stories. He was interested in stuff like Beowulf more than his own writings, unlike his son who is more concerned about his father's writings than he was; who you guys are all acting like right now, it's a FUCKING VIDEO GAME! Your not suppose to take it seriously, you wanna talk about being unfaithful to lore than look at Game of Thrones; if you'd read the books you'd know they screwed me harder than a Tijuana prostitute and fucked up more characters and story lines than Star Wars. And speaking of Star Wars, Disney also pissed on the lore when they declared the Expanded Universe non canon and replaced with the shitty new one. So for all you book purists out there that whine, bitch and complain about everything, know that it's ok to be passionate but it's another thing to be a fucking crybaby, accept that some things are gonna be different ok; and as far as I'm concerned the Tolkienverse got of easy compared to the other franchises. It's a great game, its fun and you feel like your in Middle Earth; you either enjoy it or don't and get of videos like these. Bloody usurpers the whole lot of you.

    • @thanghoang3198
      @thanghoang3198 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, the game twisted even basic events of the game: the siege of Minas Ithil occurred centuries before the Hobbit. And the Nine was well established even before Ar-Pharazon, so there are no more spare places in the Nine for Ar-Pharazon, Isildur or Helm Hammerhand. The third and most important violation of the book, if mortals wear the Rings, they would become invisible (before becoming invisible ringwraiths forever), they would not grow old (the guy Suladan should not become an old man). The game violated BOTH, which are by far the most important features of the Rings. Finally, the Rings never have the ability to revive the dead. The game producer stated that the game took place between the Hobbit and LOTR, not an alternate TL.

      Thanks for that. So who was the boyfriend/lover? I could almost understand her loving him so much that she would do something foolish in the end like taking a death blow for him. But why would she go as far as to willfully allow him to shoot down her father and kidnap her in the first place?

      GhANeC Idunno
      Shadow of War isn't canon so I guess he is a new character. If not he was probably mentioned somewhere in the books. As there are a lot of them

      GhANeC all that we know is that Helm Hammerhead was a king of Gondor and made more enemies within him realm than outside of it. He was vicious and lusted for battle so it’s safe to say he was an ass to his realm. I’m assuming that his daughter didn’t exactly have too much love for him or she realized what a monster her father was and thought his death was for a greater good. That or she was greedy and wanted the throne. My guesses from the dialogue and lore Ingame.

      Heh! Saying that he was "viscous" is an understatement. I call the guy Hammerhead as a joke but he actually got the name "Hammerhand" because he was known for fighting barehanded. This guy took out entire lines of troops barehanded. It was said when he was hungry and had no food during a blizzard that he had gotten lost in. He resorted to cannibalism without hesitation. Even when dead his eyes were wide open and he still looked like he was ready to fight. His daughter was stupid af for getting in the way of a guy like that. He is easily the most hardcore of The Nazghul. None can compare to him.

    This game is fanfiction. That's cool, it was well made. But it was fanfiction.

      Something of each of them appears on their nazgul mask: Sualdan's gem, Helm's horns, and Isildur's mask looks like the crown of Gondor.
