@THAT GUY good point. All I was trying to say was that it's strange how she refuses to dominate orcs but was totally ok with betraying Talion and dominating Sauron. Her moral compass is broken af
Talion says "I have fought this war alone" Eltariel says " Talion you are not alone" I say "OHH he isnt, so you have watched your family die before you slowly and have been unable to join them, and you have died countless times as well as been cursed and poisend and cant rest in death, and Didnt you cause this by taking the ring in the first place, the one thing that was holding Talion together, Im surprised he hasn't gone crazy like the ork's he shames.
Joshua Barry exactly she doesn’t even feel sorry for leaving him to die and then trying to kill him again he literally could’ve killed her in the beginning I really don’t like her
In the main game she sarcastically comments "Such loyalty for these Orcs". She wasn't disgusted enough by the idea of dominating Isildur, and she tried to help dominate Sauron. But dominating Orcs is just a step too far.
@@chadnorris8257 So she's fine dominating a Dark Lord or the tormented soul of a man enslaved to previously mentioned Dark Lord, but dominating a species created purely to murder and rampage is too far? Hypocritical elf bitch.
@@joshuaseagondollar2495 shes fine in dominating donald trump, but it's disgusted by dominating the retards who defended him in the pentagon. it makes more sense for u now ?
2:06 that is incredibly out of character for her: when any character does an action. that is out their character. They feel more like puppies for the developers. Rather than real living beings will have a will of their own
Damn, Monolith, so you're telling me Talion had full intentions of going toe-to-toe with Sauron (which he would've won) but he can't beat Eltariel, a random assassin. This is the same guy who fought like 6 Nazgul *at once* right????
if the story continue by manage to dominate sauron and celembrimbor take his place then LOTR films will be useless. The developer actually really did their job tho.
29:09 It's just so heartbreaking to see such a strong character to say please. Talion really is one of the most tragic characters in video game history.
Agree and disagree at the same time. Talion was a pretty weak character in the first game due to how generic it was. In the second game you see a slight rift between him and Celebrimbor that is subtle. They still seem to get along, until you realize Celebrimbor would easily leave Talion for dead (AGAIN) the moment he ceases to go along with the flow. He went from generic gritty protagonist version Alpha-2-1 to a damn impressive anti-hero. His betrayal(s) had me in tears as well. You could see it coming, but still couldn’t grasp just how little the Wraith thought of him. The fact that, in the main game, he managed to overcome the influence of a Ring for decades is nothing short of incredible. Only a pure hobbit (Bilbo) has done such a feat. Meanwhile Talion is a man (whom the Rings turn into Nazgul easily) who uses the power of all his enemies to hold them back. Not to win, but to buy time. The plans of his betrayers (Stalemate is Victory), the powers of his enemies (an Undead Army, a Dominated Orc Army), and the seat of power of a city tainted (Minas Morgul). He was a tragedy in the making, one whom I hope gained peace when the One Ring was finally destroyed. No allies will tell of what he did, he knew that. He truly fought his war alone. Yet he did what he had to until he could no longer.
Fr i did not like her character and i hate shes the one to take talions life rather then let him die in peace in another cutscene. P.s. he could take her in a fight anyday
Dude why didn't she just give her ring to talion so he wouldn't have wear the one that was turning him evil. If she takes it off she won't die but he will so that kind of pissed me off because she doesn't need it.
Cuz plot and she's a massive bitch that serves a even greater bitch. If she gave Talion the ring he would be free from corruption and he would have kicked ass destroyed the rings and basically made the movies absolete.
The ring wouldn’t have accepted tailon and we don’t kno enough about her to say she wouldn’t die or something bad wouldn’t happen I don’t understand why people are so salty about him dying
I was, I really liked talking in the first and second game . It pissed me off that celebrimbir would betray him and leave him to die. Not only that but to see him in a state where he constantly loses himself to the ring and has to keep fighting to keep the urak hordes in morder. I really wanted them to destroy Sauron and give talion the peace he deserves
@Plo Koon That sacrifice was never needed. All of it could have been resolved if Eltariel simply gave Talion back the ring. He only relied on Isildur's to preserve his life despite fear of becoming a Nazgul. Unlike Talion, Eltariel won't die from losing it. She didn't because she is too damn stupid to realize that Celebrimbor was just the other side of Sauron's coin. Both want to dominate Mordor, they're just fighting over who gets to do it. Course to be honest I think this way out was intentionally ignored by the developers cause they want a female protagonist now and they don't care how much they gotta piss on the story to accomplish that goal.
Eltariel is seriouly one of the worse part of the story. She has no back story, no conflict, just a goddamn assassin who has a job to do. Compared to more interesting and relatable character. Even Bruz was way more interesting than her. In fact even ranger, the orc not Talion, and Ratbag were WAY more enjoyable because at least they have a personality in an interesting coup storyline.
oh and you forgot that she is just a betrayer too ^^no personality, mary sue power, and betraying people for the sake of it. perfect recipe for failure (character)
Thinh Vo Ratbag DLC would be so worth it. There's even an interesting way to get started on it. Obviously his intro begins previously after getting bludgeon personally by the Hammer and he grudgingly wakes up to discover the Hammer corpse (killed by Talion of course) and from there...well he's captured by the mentioned Necromancer and cannibals where he meets Ranger.
I watched this video solely for the orcs. Loved that boisterous architect grandpa orc and shed a single tear for the fallen boom brother. You know, in media, elves were always seen as cool, moral and upstanding and orcs were disgusting uncivilized savages. Something happened in our real life way of seeing the world years ago and somehow we started treating orcs like cool and honest underdogs and the elves as haughty, boring, holier-than-thou annoying twats. I wonder how that came to be. Maybe it's a reflection of postmodernism.
She had no loyalty to him. She isn't the one who betrayed him. She isn't the one who traveled with him and then stripped him of the Ring. It's not her fault
@@zedfra8014 partly, maybe. Either way, celembrimbor and the archer didn't have similar ideas for what to do. He would have found a new ring bearer regardless
He actually does call her out on her shit right before he goes full Nazgul. She says "Don't betray the man you once were," and he basically responds with "Don't speak to me about betrayal when YOU left me to die!" Her and Celebrimbor really fucked him over, and (if the ending showing Eltariel preparing to seek out Celebrimbor after Sauron's death is anything to go by) she's getting ready to screw over the rest of the world too.
@@erebusvonmori8050 What are you talking about she's morality incarnate i mean its absolutly moral to just outright try to murder Talion to death for his ring and the connection to Celebrimbor.
I like her she is cooler then him to me and I think he was weaker cause he didn’t have original power he had with the ring and yeah betrayal happens did I mention I like her cause of her assassin clothes and blades 😂
and then what? talion would no longer be corrupted, he would continue to fight if not take the fight directly to sauron and celi. meaning the LOTR movies/books wouldn't happen. the point of this was to try and keep it fit into the main timeline even tho its more fanfiction (they broke some lore, but im honestly fine with it as i still love the story, just doesn't work if your a hardcore tolkien fan and want 100% lore friendly instead of fan fiction)
LOTR is full of sad stories. Boromir, Saruman, Gollum, Talion, Isildur. It's more about the fall of man and beacons of hope ( Bilbo and Frodo ). It's not a story of victory, but how far one can fall, and how sometimes the most unexpected weak person with enough will power can rise to the challenge.
The reason why is because during the two games. It was just Talion, sure Celebrimbor and some orcs along the way either made the journey easier or harder for him. But this man has lost everything a warrior holds dear. His pride, his memories of his loved ones and maybe even some of his brothers in arms. He's been fighting tooth and nail to atleast put a dent in the making of the return of the dark lord. Just to have some glorified noble elf to walk in and go " This is mine now, Mary sue for the win ". You cannot deny that this elf is a literal example of a mary sue, I don't care what her backstory is. The main point, Man has more struggles than elves, Elves in this universe are typically your average knife eared pansy spotlight taking thief.
Because now eltariel the backatabber has to interfere so now Talion is suddenly a worser fighter and his uruks are hopeless so that the traitorous bitch can look like the savior and ruin Talions character.
Tbxmxdog Talion was already corrupted so why would she trust him with the ring of power? Even if he was actively fighting against Saurons armies, he went against Celebrimor for the dumbest reason. He couldn't be trusted.
What do you mean "went against Celibrimbor for the dumbest reason" Celibrimbor directly said that he will dominate Sauron and bring order to ALL Middle-Earth, openly admitting that he is going to do absolutely the same thing Sauron wanted to do - conquer Middle-Earth. Talion, on the other hand, wanted to destroy Sauron.
I saw this in a comment section by: KaiserAfini, this is what he said. KaiserAfini: Funny thing about humans in Middle Earth, they are unbound from fate, they make their own destinies. Elves, on the other hand, are bound by destiny. Sauron is a Maiar, one of the beings that controls the foundations of the world, a mid tiered and fallen one, but a Maiar all the same. So yeah, when Celebrimbor switched away to an elven host, he had already lost.
I don't know where you're getting the idea that Sauron was a "mid tier" Maia. In fact, it's pretty well established that he was one of the most powerful of the Maia. Tolkien even notes in one of his letters that he was "of a far higher order" than the likes of the wizards or the Balrogs.
The only one stronger than Souron is his boss. (Whatever his name is) but apparently Talion and Calabrimbor would've been able to dominate Sauron. Calabrimbor's strength came from Talion as evidenced by his loss to Sauron. It is probably why the new ring was so dang strong.
@@8911145533 Celebrimbor's an Elven wraith, one with a ring of power, first age Elves took out beings far stronger than Sauron so it's not that far fetched.
@@ararepotato1420I suspect it has something to do with the elves are bound by Fate but men are not, Italian had been a Wraith with effective free will for who knows how long whilst wielding a ring of power supposedly equal in strength or even Superior to the one ring, and he had been learning how to use it for decades, Sauron did not have his ring and had been quite weakened by his defeat at the hands of men and elves and had not regained that lost strength. Whereas eltariel had only just acquired that ring and was nowhere near as good a fighter as likely even talian before he became a wraith
Not a fan of the story of this dlc, I actually preferred just the main game's one where talion just fights the forces of sauron alone untill he eventually turns. This ending wasn't really epic and didn't do Talion justice.
@@rayobrown I see it as more of a story within the many years he was fighting. Because we know each time we fought a fortress after the story was to represent the many years of fighting, so maybe this Dlc was the last years before turning
@@steffanocornejo6129 Yeah that is what I always thought. It is the last years, the first fort (Where we defended it) was a year or two before he turned, The other forts we "helped" were the last year, and the fort assault was year 60 when he turned
Feels a lot better sure you'd need to enslave Orcs to begin but you assume that some Orcs hate Sauron, have ambitions of their own, or would just flock to Talions superior power. So there should have been other ways beyond the obvious enslavement through the ring already got that shit the first game ( minus ring ).
@@davevd9944 well to be fair, we do have the main game, most of the random uruks that are serving you ARE NOT branded, only the captains, and a lot of them know about and talk about the bright lord. so odds are most of the random orcs that are on your side joined because of various reasons, where as most if not all of the captains joined because you dominated them
Without a doubt. gotta admit though, its one of the most badass ways to go; "Got one word for you, maggot: ....... boom". At least Flint died doing what he loved. No shame in that.
Sorry.. she's a badass and everything, but there's no damn way she could beat talion and even if he was injured.. especially since other Nazgul come out of nowhere and start helping him.. I'm sorry but she's dead! and it's stupid that she didn't just give him the ring back they should have just had it where she left the ring on the mountain and had to leave because she thought she was going to die or something else
you forget she's been hunting nazgul singlehandedly for years beating talion is a bit of a stretch, but if we're honest in lore talion is likely a lot less badass and most likely has died thousands of times before he becomes a nazgul. so while YOU may be a badass, talion is not, he is a cut above the rest, but doesn't mean he's indestructible
Divine Potato he was badass enough to stop the power of the main baddy from corrupting his mind for sixty years, holding off his enemies and his eventual fellow peers
Would he? Eltaherial is an immortal Assassin who has been training for thousands of years. Talion is a regular Ranger with only a few years of immortality.
@@FraserSouris that "regular ranger" is ths same person who took on sauron in the first game, beat 5 nazguls at once, and beat the witch king in a fight, talion should be able to destroy Eltaherial
@@PK_SYN I think you should give the games another play. You're missing a few details. *>" is ths same person who took on sauron in the first game""beat 5 nazguls at once, "
He basically did at the start of this DLC. Disarmed her and had her at his mercy. It is when he is much more weakened from the corruption of the Nazgul Ring that Eltariel actually has a chance. Quick reminder she was still wearing Celebrimbor's Ring during that first fight... and still lost. *Tallion was built different!*
Okay here are the damn issues with this “DLC” 1: The biggest damn plot hole in the world which is why she doesn’t just give the fucking ring to Talion after she basically stole it from him. He’s stronger than her (as seen in the beginning) and that way, she would not have to worry about him falling 2: Basically negates the Shadow Wars and makes it all null-and-void 3: They killed off Talion. I personally loved his ending. How he fought for DECADES until he succumbed to the Nazgul. THATS an ending he deserved; going down swinging and swinging hard. But no. He gets killed by the same fucking bitch HE BEAT AT THE BEGINNING 4: Galadriel is a shitty character. Poorly-written and she loses all credibility for basically stabbing you in the back in the main game 5: That fucking ending makes no damn sense. 6: Female Nazgul... in the fucking movies and books it said the rings were given TO KINGS OF MAN!! KINGS!! I don’t personally give a shit about the Asian kingdom because the books mentioned an eastern land so it’s possible. However, female Nazgul is stupid. If I missed anything, please let me know. In my eyes, this DLC doesn’t exist in the SoW storyline. Talion fell fighting the darkness bravely and died when Barad-dur fell.
Shadow of Dread you do realize this DLC was literally decades , the shadow wars still happened & talion still died fighting the darkness , she didn't kill him just defeated him & then he came back at the tower & that's when you see him joining the other Nazgul , he died the day the one ring was destroyed , reason everyone is confused because they didn't do a good job at explaining that the DLC took place during those decades that Talion was fighting
Superslash i feel you on that man this dlc just sucked & it would have been better if they let things the way they were & as for her age , she an elf man , elf's don't really age that's one thing all elf's from all types of lore have in commen they don't age , unlike dwarves & men with the exception of dwarves still living a long fucking time , she can only die by physical wounds so as long as no one slays her as she's gonna be around
Diego Vela I agree with Superslash. This stupid DLC didn’t tell anyone how long it was in in-game-time. Also, I don’t care if she only defeated Talion, he kicked her ass at the beginning with what appears to be barely a sweat. It’s bullshit he lost in the second fight.
The Nazgul sisters were stupid, not because they were not kings and from a kingdom we never directly heard of, but because they got the rings from KILLING NAZGULS being just normal humans and because only they managed to betray sauron. (also would have been better if they were from Rhun or Harad not chinese)
Nazgul Talion was honestly awesome. He finally grew up gave up his personal goal (for a long time) sacrificed his humanity and dedicated his new dark power to do what needed to be done.
Hold up. Talion has been fighting for years with Celebrimbor to stop Sauron. Despite this, Celebrimbor suddenly goes completely evil, wants to conquer Middle-Earth, and both he and the 1-dimensional wamen betray Talion and leave him to die. They then fail spectacularly, and Talion is forced to wear a ring that will bend him into an immortal slave of the very evil that took everything from him, while he stands alone to bide time for the rest of Middle-Earth. This is where the main game ends, and while the Celebrimbor betrayal is very stupid, I would be OK if they ended it there and the sequel told the story of Talion defeating Celebrimbor and somehow setting the stage for the regular Lord of the Rings story. But no, somehow it gets even worse. Talion continues the fight, and the she-elf comes back and tries to kill him. How does he respond to this? He forgives her. And then at the end, she ends up letting him turn into a ringwraith? That's the end of our protagonist? And the game makes you play as the bitch, forcing you to deal the final blow to the character that they have destroyed with this disgusting story. Who the fuck wrote this? She is one of the worst characters I've ever had the displeasure of seeing realized. And everyone in this stupid-ass game makes stupid-ass decisions just for the sake of introducing new ways to spit in your face. Talion, representing the Men of Gondor, is completely disrespected by a woman who betrays him not once, but two or three times. Celebrimbor does a 180 just to have this twist so Talion can start turning evil and the wamen has to "save" him. And then two Nazgul are murdered by actual real-life Chinese women, from ancient China, not Middle-Earth. Just so we can have two female Nazgul that proceed to betray Sauron himself, who has actual mind control over the ringwraiths. And then Talion doesn't even get a hero's resolution. His family died and he has been fighting to save Middle-Earth for years, all to end up an eternal slave to evil, cucked by the she-elf. And the writers made him too stupid to realize or do anything about it. Gotta have the man get bested by the woman, gotta have that super duper plot twist, fuck the lore. They actually had the audacity to charge $15 for this.
I have to disagree with a part of your comment. Celebrimbor's twist is something that had been hinted since the Brightlord DLC since he was shown to be extremely power hungry, acting no better than sauron himself and in the end of that dlc he looks at Tallion as just a vessel for his return as he himself proclaims "Finally, all will fear me and rejoice." while Tallion dies during the blood sacrifice.
Celebrimbor's betrayal is actually well introduced, because of the context of LOTR [Corruption, power, betrayal, etc] and there's "Asian" people in Middle Earth. But I agree in the Eltariel part.
Talion's story with celembringor was good and his ending was fitting to this story but eltariel should have been killed for her betrayal. Not a good character to keep around.
The story could’ve been so much better if that Elf just give the “One Ring” to Talion. Everyone is pretty much loving the shit of of Talion. Bring a new character to end Talion’s story is pretty shit.
Alex Ghost 2 rings on one talion. On one hand it could be a recipe for disaster on the other it could be the solution to most of middle earths problems. Get it? He could wear islidurs ring on one hand(disaster) and dicknoses on the other(solution)
I love Talion's character yes but if he died it would be fine (if we go by the good ending), its just this damn elf is a horrible character, especially if they are going to make her the main character in the next game. Who would want to play the one who betrayed our Talion?!
ThePursuit OfSymmetry Yeah, but this isn't building upon anything. More like tearing apart the most stable foundations in the fantasy genra. And he must of made this statement on his deathbed, because in life he hated spinoffs and outside meddlings in his own works.
Why? If you sell the rights to your work you give up all rights to how it is changed in the future (also this is just an alternate universe videogame).
No ,we are talking about the story, like the nazgul that betrail Sauron,Isildur has a Nazgul,Sauron who is just pathetic,Celebribor that create another ring,Shelobetc.Asian and black exist in both the book and the movie,so no problem with it
High Kicks Asian, lol what female nazgul are lore breaking as hell saying as how their clearly described and shown as men, frodo even sees nine men on weathertop you do realize right that their is no East Asian countries in middle earth, khand is kinda mongol like and that's the closest you get easterlings are Persians, haradrim are berbers, corsairs are mixed gondorians with haradrim and the people of unknown far harad are black with white eyes and long red tongues and described as troll men.
High Kicks Asian, Tolkiens son who help make lotr and made the simarilion, Christopher lives and he blasted the hell out of peter Jackson films for how noncanon they are.
I think that Talion and Elrariel’s arcs shows the corrupting power of the rings. Talion being slowly corrupted by Celebrimdor over two games, and Eltariel being corrupted over interactions in one game. He plays on her desire for victory over Sauron and the Nazgul over time, and eventually gets her to leave one of her staunchest allies to die.
It didn't feel like he convinced her to do anything. More like he said "hey you wanna do thi-" and she went "yeswheredoisignup" immediately. She was ready to betray talion like it was nothing.
Wait, this doesn't make sense. The "shadow wars" were supposed to last decades according to the main game's true ending, but the lapse we see between the "eyesification" of Sauron and Talion's final corruption doesn't get near that statement.
UselessHit I think he might have had a fallout right there but when she used her powers on him it could have maybe brought him back to his sense and he fought for the rest of the time while she was off doing her thang
How can this happen anyway? Not only is this even more lore-breaking than the main game, but the "true" ending showed Talion on a Drake at Mt. Doom when the ring was destroyed. So... Doesn't this ret-con that ending out of existence?
Bayonet300 Once more the Orcs and Ologs are the main stars of the "Shadow of" series. I actually felt genuinely sad when Flak Flint sacrificed himself. Honor him with one word: BOOM!😢
They're literally forced to do this sadly, every AAA title now literally has quotas of at least one black (Baranor) and one female in the cringefest that is the "stronk an' impowa'd" bullshit rhetoric.
This is the end game the last. if this game still make?what’s is the story the? nazgul are dead Sauron are dead who the villain? There no more of this game I hope.
The one reason I enjoyed this part of the story, the only reason it ever made sense to me, is because Elty WAS only an assassin. Nothing more than a tool for figures of power like Galadriel. Then she got her hands on REAL power and gained agency of her own. Having known the struggle of just surviving, suddenly being above death itself gave her new perspective, especially having to watch an honorable man she betrayed slowly lose himself while paying for her mistakes. The final fight with Talion was the tipping point that sealed it. A ring of power like that was the only thing keeping her on anything close to an even playing field, and even so I'm almost certain he was still holding back. Seeing into his mind, his past, his motivation, and the consequences of her betrayal was the linchpin that defined her path going forward. That guilt and realization is what goaded her to stay behind and carry on Talion's work after his fall, though clearly she wasn't nearly as good at it as he was (mainly because she wouldn't dominate orcs and can't be everywhere at once). The one thing that would've made her story complete was adding a final boss fight with Celebrimbor where she finally murks his ass--or better yet imprisons him within his own ring, suffering endlessly for his betrayal. With her, of course, being his eternal jailer as penance of her own. Neither ever moving on, either to the West or the afterlife.
I love how in main story talion is built up to be a badass swords man who could nearly never be bested while wearing the rings and even sauron said if calebrembior would have faced him with talion he could have beaten him potentially but in this dlc he's beaten by this her? I find it very hard to believe talion would realisticly have ended her granted it would have been difficult but ended her all the same
@@numpy979actually he is weaker bc of that same reason, he’s fighting two sides, in his mind and with eltariel, plus he could barely walk by the time he fights her, another decisive thing is that Eltariel is wearing Celebrimbor’s ring which is equal in power to that of sauron and even then she had it rough, bc at the start of the dlc she fought him and lose.
“Do not betray the man you were.” At least “betrayal” is not in his character which is what I like about Talion regardless of the ring making him slowly a slave, but in spite of that he tries to make sure to get the work done before he is really dead/the enemy. The dedication on in this man even when it is visible that he is gone and is not him talking anymore. Respect+ (I only played the first game, but I watched the cutscenes of the second one. Never watched/read any LotR before, and of course this game is off by a lot, but I kinda got a good grasp on what is going on game lore wise). Any thoughts of what you guys thought about this DLC?
What i hate the worst gameplay wise is that i leveled up all my orc.made pretty strong fortresses.but still talion's forts get defeated 1 by 1.stupid AF.story wise it is crap overall
If they make a sequel they should make it a story completely about Celebrimbor's alliance and war against Sauron. Sauron was honestly the most interesting character in the game alongside Celebrimbor. That fair form whispering into the ears of kings was awesome. And those transitions of him going between armor form and fair form was so cool! Give me more of all that.
Will Griffin I hope that we don’t play as any of the eleven betrayers, if I have to play as anyone now that talions gone it would be baranor. Slap a ring on dat shit!
Theory: Eltariel's work was not to kill Talion, but to "restore" his memory. The DLC lasts a few months in-universe, during which Talion is corrupted. However, during the final scene, where he is on the verge of becoming a Nazgul, Eltariel accidentaly reminds him of who he was, allowing him to keep fighting for years without succumbing to the Ring. Galadriel never wanted Talion dead, she wanted someone who could keep the balance. Hence the "Your work is done" despite the fact that Talion hasn't been stopped.
@@deathman7663 ranger didn't really serve talion, he was mostly there for ratbag and ratbag, yes he wasn't dominated but he's a bit different and originally teamed up with him because he wanted to become a captain so they worked together and while im sure talion would deny it, likely grew a bond/friendship along the way even in shadow of war we have ratbag talking about "old times" and talion is pissed saying "you'll get us exposed.. like old times" and when he says old times its like hes reminiscing / misses it. though i doubt talion would admit he cared for an orc
Oh yeah because Talion isn't a Gary Stu. The whole idea that Talion can fight in equal footing against an elf like Eltariel without the help of Celebrimbor is a great honor for Talion.

And we know its that way because we know his backstory... It is interesting they never really expanded on whether he is a Dunedain or not but since he is a Ranger lets give him that... but elf beats Dunedain and nothing beats Sauron...
Love the unique Orcs in the DLC at least. The one from the beginning was funny listing off everything that has gone wrong. Az-Ranz was the name of an Olog commander I've had since the start so that was neat
Yknow, would it have been so hard to just, follow the lore? like, the first Shadow of War, slotted into the lore quiet nicely, was in a period of history that was farely barren, and didn't do anything major to the overall world, bar the ending, which lead onto this. so, could they not have just finished Talions story without taking a crowbar to the lore and pissing so many people off needlessly? like, SoW could have just as easly NOT had Sexy-lady-Shelob and non-canon Nazgul Identities, and it would have been just as good. like, story goes much the same, just replace shelob with like, ANY seer type figure, like the queen from the first game, Have the Nazgul Remain unknown, and have it end with Talion realizing Celebrimbor and Sauron are interchangeable, and destroying the new ring, followed by that nice walking into the light ending, or some similar sensible "this is why he wasn't around during the events of TLotR trillogy" ending. and frankly, Eltariel really added nothing, so either write her better, or just remove her entirely, she was basically a Holier than thou bitch, right up until she hypocritically betrayed Talion, then failed big time. and given how this DLC didn't include her begging on her knees for his forgiveness for being such a bitch and driving him to make such a dire fate for himself, then helping him out of said dire fate (by say, giving him the fucking new ring back) it doesn't really endear her. it's just more of the same "i'm going to kill you for being a weak willed human, person i specifically put into the impossible position they're now in" like, her one job, LITERALLY HER ONE JOB, in Mordor was to kill Nazgul, and not only did Talion Claim the only actual Nazgul Kill, SHE was directly responsible for undoing said kill by replacing the Nazgul with a genuinely good guy. like god damn, i LIKE this game, the gameplay, orcs, Talion's character, they're all great. but the story drags it down so hard. Celebrimbor did a complete character 180 from the first game, where he regretted his hand in the state of the world and wanted revenge on Sauron, and to redeem himself for helping him forge the Ring (and sympathized with Talion's similar goals as a result) to a power mad obviously evil asshole hell bent on being exactly the same as Sauron, for no reason, out of nowhere. and all the lore discrepancies feel, pointless. cause, folk who don't know the lore, aren't going to care about name drops like Helm Hammerhand and people who DO care about the lore, are just going to be pissed off. (and most anyone with common sense would point out "If Shelob has a hate boner for Sauron, and can be a fully normal and sensible human (who can see the future no less), why would she just be a big mindless spider and try and eat the hobbits when they showed up SPECIFICALLY to kill Sauron?" which really is the most obvious plot hole, regardless of it's Lore Implications) Like, honestly, it feels like The Eragon Movie, where the excuse is "it's our interpretation of the story" but, why? people wanted to see it, based on it's source material. this is a Lord Of the Rings game. it can be assumed that most of the people playing are probably, to a greater or lesser degree, Lord of the Rings fans, and familiar with the Lore. if you're just going to deviate wildly FROM the source material, for no real reason, all you're going to do is piss off the actual fans, and create friction between said fans of the source material, and people who like the game/movie in and of itself. TLDR, there was no good reason for SoW to break the lore over it's knee, it should have just done as it's Predecessor did, and slot neatly into the existing lore with a self contained story.
albertjester boo hoo it’s a game. It wasn’t gonna follow the narrative or lore of the books perfectly anyways it’s just for fun of the game. Not ever person that bought it knows all the books to the T most probably only seen the movies. It’s supposed to be off kilter
Antilles Gaming I’m not wasting my money on a feminized quota there was literally no reason to introduce this character and to make her the hero at the expense of someone who fought honorably against his will it’s sad that the state of society can be reflected in a fucking video game you can’t safely be male anywhere I guess
Same here, "Oh no, Talion is a wraith now, if only I could GIVE HIM BACK HIS RING SO HE CAN TAKE OFF ISILDUR'S AND LIVE" why the fuck does she need the ring anyway? So she can have her ring and pinkie finger? She refuses to use its power so why does she need it so bad, I hated her from the second I saw her, she has that smug attitude about her
Robert Kennedy she's so boring and has no backstory, she doesn't even need the ring, and I know for a fact that Talion should've won the fight against her
In this game the Nazgul upon their defeat return to Minas Morgul or Baradur. This means that when Talion got defeated he died as he does in game, he has to recover and reform his body, this takes time. After he reforms he'll either be in control again or become one of the nine as seen in the main ending
Where the fuck would you fit an asian kingdom in the middle earth is beyond me. They're just diversifying the game, they added a black guy now a whole asian kingdom what's next?
People! First you have Haradrim, black-arab guys. You've them in movies, even Baranor says it himself. That's not so strange. Also, in the Return of the King you have Easterlings. They are asian like guys. You have that in lore, you have that in that small cutscene. Only thing is that you don't have is female nazgul. That is something that is confronting the lore, but still it's fun thing to see. And I think it's not so bad.
At Monolith Productions: "Should we make a DLC of Talion fighting the darkness After the Sauron boss fight?" "Or maybe make a DLC of Talion's life before the Shadow of Games" "Maybe we should do a DLC that shows us the path of Talion when he is a Nazgül..." "Or we make a DLC about the story of Sauron where you play as him" "OH HEY I HAVE AN IDEA!! WE CAN MAKE A DLC ABOUT THAT LITTLE ELF-GIRL THAT NOBODY CARED FOR!!" "OH WOW! FANTASTIC IDEA, WE SHOULD MAKE THIS NOW!!" Edit: Don't get me wrong, i liked Eltariel, but the fact that She and Celebrimbor left ma boi Talion to die just made me hate both
If they make a third installment, it should be Talion serving Sauron and hunting down Frodo with the Fellowship. Talion mentioned he was banished from death, so they can continue his story up until Sauron's destruction. It would be badass to have the Witch King as your ally, and to fight for the Dark Lord.
Gamer Dude no I mean at the end of the game it shows talion become a ring wraith with the mask but in this (shite) DLC he just dies before that happens essentially changing the ending.
Gamer Dude well that good other than the fact are guy talion who we have been playing for the past two games got beat by a bland traitorous SJW elf bitch.
I think talion should've killed eltariel and that is what pushed him to the edge and fall to sauron darkness and I want talion to track celebrimor not eltariel she was good for a dlc but not for a game
well in pretty much all interactions with our pal good ol celeb, he manages to come across as ruthless, manipulative, single-minded and cruel. so it was always coming.
I kinda liked the blade of galadriel. But it bothers me how Talion literally could have been saved from turning into a Nazgul if she had just givin him the ring that he needed to survive.
I like the Orcs and Talion, but Her killing Talion is an impossible task i mean due held mordor for decades but lost to her? And they completely wreck your forts with so many low lvls as warchiefs/overlords... I spent forever trying to build up my boys 😂
@@VattenFlaskaCola123 not that simple, and most people who do kill the nazgul likely take their rings and are corrupted (perfect example is the sisters and talion) so you have to be badass enough to not be paralyzed by fear, and also somehow manage to defeat them in a fight and take the ring/cut it off or dominate them somehow to make it come off to truly kill them, and again, if you do that, odds are the ring will beckon to you and you'll replace them
Like I get that this is the war of good vs evil and nothing's fair, but eltariel really burns me up. She betrays talion and then has the gall to act all high and mighty when talion can't fight sauron's influence any longer? After everything he had been through and sacrificed? Like when she saw into his mind and saw all that and cried I was like "yeah, feel bad. You helped create this tragedy."
I think for the last few decades, of course he seemed to have faded into darkness towards the end of the dlc but if I see. Talion states he is banished from death and as she stabbed him. The memories of either 1. Pushed talion to sanity again for the time being or 2. Convinced eltarial to keep fighting as she took a glimpse into his memory and wanted to give him peace so he could die with his family??
"You speak to me of betrayal" is the line everyone talks about but imo "You took everything from me" is way more powerful Considering the fact that Talion had everything taken from him at the start of Shadow of Mordor Talion had at most Celebrimbor and the ring he crafted and she took both. Thats why when Shelob asks Talion how much hes willing to forfeit, it hits me hard
Wow, this DLC turned very SJW in the end. So to main game said: (spoilers!) That Talion fought for years against the armies of Mordor and Sauron. The DLC says: nah, that loser lost it in month, maybe less. Then they turn the guy is the poor man's copy of Boromir. I died at the ending, such a cheesy and cliche ending, wow Talion, recite every ignorant line from Boromir! It's not like you've been pulling magic out of a ring's hole for years now and doing superhuman things! This DLC is insulting in every way.
How does bad writing=SJW? Answer: it doesn't. Your just a (Removed bad language because in all likelihood your just a kid, what with the incredibly bad grammer) Also, I got more of a Bilbo vibe at the end, but maybe that's just me. Work on your friggin grammer. And the story really want that bad, mediocre at worst.
eleganos no one is a kid besides you. You must be blind if you done see how this is sjw shit. Besides that the game breaks its own fucking lore. This dlc doesnt add up with the main game at all. Talion fights the shadow wars for decades and then becomes a nazgul and is killed when the ring is destroyed. She didnt kill him because he is banished from death but this dlc still doesnt add up. Its mediocre at best.
Guys they can make a third one about talion Remember zog the eternal from carnan quests? Right before u kill him he say "Be carefull, dying one For the dead are never truly dead and are just waiting to be awoken, I will wake up again. IL NEVER DIE" so after talions death maybe zog the eternal rises up as a necromancer which he did b4 and he also arises talion because celebrimbor and eletiral that bitch are ruling morodor and he has to destroy em. Then zog betrays talion and carnan brings talion back to kill him, 4th game and then talion dies after killing zog cause he is the necromancer who brought him back and then talion finds true peace] They are making a 3rd one so spam this on their website so they dont make it aout eletarial and make them do this

29:09 It's just so heartbreaking to see such a strong character to say please. Talion really is one of the most tragic characters in video game history.
It Almost brought me tears😢
That so unfair to Talion ...

She didn't because she is too damn stupid to realize that Celebrimbor was just the other side of Sauron's coin. Both want to dominate Mordor, they're just fighting over who gets to do it.

So, did Talion just kinda forget that she, you know, doomed him to become an immortal slave demon to the entity he swore to defeat?

How this DLC should have gone. Talion beats her regains the ring and no longer is corrupted and light once more. Eltraiel is put in her place.
and then what? talion would no longer be corrupted, he would continue to fight if not take the fight directly to sauron and celi.

Except that's not how rings work...
Wow. Talion did not deserve what happened to him. What a true tragedy.
I wanted her to die so badly during the entire game.
Why?
True , unlike Talion , the she elf has absolutely no honor. She should have perished and dies.

Tbxmxdog Talion was already corrupted so why would she trust him with the ring of power? Even if he was actively fighting against Saurons armies, he went against Celebrimor for the dumbest reason. He couldn't be trusted.
What do you mean "went against Celibrimbor for the dumbest reason"
Celibrimbor directly said that he will dominate Sauron and bring order to ALL Middle-Earth, openly admitting that he is going to do absolutely the same thing Sauron wanted to do - conquer Middle-Earth. Talion, on the other hand, wanted to destroy Sauron.
I saw this in a comment section by:
KaiserAfini, this is what he said.
Tolkien even notes in one of his letters that he was "of a far higher order" than the likes of the wizards or the Balrogs.
dude it's heavily implied that Sauron is the strongest Maia. How a spirit like Celebrombor hopes to dominate him is beyond stupid

@@steffanocornejo6129 Yeah that is what I always thought. It is the last years, the first fort (Where we defended it) was a year or two before he turned, The other forts we "helped" were the last year, and the fort assault was year 60 when he turned
I actually like the fact they gave us interactions with orcs they promised for the main game - recruit orcs without domination.
now only if you could fucking do that after the story lol
duno man, They gave it eventually, but only for "storyline" orcs character & locked behind $15 DLC. Not sure what to make about that.
@@davevd9944 well to be fair, we do have the main game, most of the random uruks that are serving you ARE NOT branded, only the captains, and a lot of them know about and talk about the bright lord.
so odds are most of the random orcs that are on your side joined because of various reasons, where as most if not all of the captains joined because you dominated them

beating talion is a bit of a stretch, but if we're honest in lore talion is likely a lot less badass and most likely has died thousands of times before he becomes a nazgul.

Okay here are the damn issues with this “DLC”
1: The biggest damn plot hole in the world which is why she doesn’t just give the fucking ring to Talion after she basically stole it from him. He’s stronger than her (as seen in the beginning) and that way, she would not have to worry about him falling
2: Basically negates the Shadow Wars and makes it all null-and-void
3: They killed off Talion. I personally loved his ending. How he fought for DECADES until he succumbed to the Nazgul. THATS an ending he deserved; going down swinging and swinging hard. But no. He gets killed by the same fucking bitch HE BEAT AT THE BEGINNING
4: Galadriel is a shitty character. Poorly-written and she loses all credibility for basically stabbing you in the back in the main game
5: That fucking ending makes no damn sense.
Diego Vela
I agree with Superslash. This stupid DLC didn’t tell anyone how long it was in in-game-time. Also, I don’t care if she only defeated Talion, he kicked her ass at the beginning with what appears to be barely a sweat. It’s bullshit he lost in the second fight.
leaders of middle earth were wearing rings of power and one of them was galadriel but i think she wouldn't become nazgul she is too powerful
I literally love this comment I agree completely'
Not a good character to keep around.
out of all the comments, this one sums up how i feel the best.
The story could’ve been so much better if that Elf just give the “One Ring” to Talion. Everyone is pretty much loving the shit of of Talion. Bring a new character to end Talion’s story is pretty shit.
Mr. ElmoMouse I could see like the two rings helping yet conflicting him at the same time
Alex Ghost 2 rings on one talion. On one hand it could be a recipe for disaster on the other it could be the solution to most of middle earths problems. Get it? He could wear islidurs ring on one hand(disaster) and dicknoses on the other(solution)
Mr. ElmoMouse it’s called the New Ring, the One Ring is Saurons.
I love Talion's character yes but if he died it would be fine (if we go by the good ending), its just this damn elf is a horrible character, especially if they are going to make her the main character in the next game. Who would want to play the one who betrayed our Talion?!

They're literally forced to do this sadly, every AAA title now literally has quotas of at least one black (Baranor) and one female in the cringefest that is the "stronk an' impowa'd" bullshit rhetoric.
Thank god I am not the only one
Blades of Galadriel were "stronk" even before all of this political stuff.
I find it very hard to believe talion would realisticly have ended her granted it would have been difficult but ended her all the same
I think he continually gets weaker and weaker as he wears the ring, or when he finally falls to the ring he forgets his abilitys
@@Name-wc2lk when he falls to the ring that's when he should be even more powerful since the rings power is drawn from sauron
Respect+

What i love about this game is all hard work went into the orks, they are just so damn entertaining.
i love how slayer fought and fell to talion and was recruited and now he’s like one of the most loyal to him in the cutscenes
Would be nice if uruks could choose to serve Talion as well.

@@deathman7663 ranger didn't really serve talion, he was mostly there for ratbag
and ratbag, yes he wasn't dominated but he's a bit different and originally teamed up with him because he wanted to become a captain so they worked together and while im sure talion would deny it, likely grew a bond/friendship along the way
even in shadow of war we have ratbag talking about "old times" and talion is pissed saying "you'll get us exposed.. like old times" and when he says old times its like hes reminiscing / misses it. though i doubt talion would admit he cared for an orc

Talion the Gravewalker
Engraged by traitors
YES!
Lore wise, the first game fit in perfectly. There was barely anything there and it built off of what lore there was. This one... Just kills it.
This is pr b-ball the best description of what’s wrong with the game that exists, deserves a lot more likes and recognition than it has

i wanted another Talion game, but seems we will play her in 3
Antilles Gaming I’m not wasting my money on a feminized quota there was literally no reason to introduce this character and to make her the hero at the expense of someone who fought honorably against his will it’s sad that the state of society can be reflected in a fucking video game you can’t safely be male anywhere I guess
if that's Talion's end, then i hope its over, i don't wanna play her some more, shes so boring
There is always that other guy that will be in the next DLC
Same here, "Oh no, Talion is a wraith now, if only I could GIVE HIM BACK HIS RING SO HE CAN TAKE OFF ISILDUR'S AND LIVE" why the fuck does she need the ring anyway? So she can have her ring and pinkie finger? She refuses to use its power so why does she need it so bad, I hated her from the second I saw her, she has that smug attitude about her

In this game the Nazgul upon their defeat return to Minas Morgul or Baradur. This means that when Talion got defeated he died as he does in game, he has to recover and reform his body, this takes time. After he reforms he'll either be in control again or become one of the nine as seen in the main ending
China in middle earth?
Easterlings mate
Where the fuck would you fit an asian kingdom in the middle earth is beyond me. They're just diversifying the game, they added a black guy now a whole asian kingdom what's next?

The lands of Rhun are large but unexplored, so its possible for a china-like nation to exist in the far east
And I think it's not so bad.
honestly feels like this should have been in the game to progress us through shadow wars
At Monolith Productions:
"Should we make a DLC of Talion fighting the darkness After the Sauron boss fight?"
"Or maybe make a DLC of Talion's life before the Shadow of Games"
"Maybe we should do a DLC that shows us the path of Talion when he is a Nazgül..."
"Or we make a DLC about the story of Sauron where you play as him"
"OH HEY I HAVE AN IDEA!! WE CAN MAKE A DLC ABOUT THAT LITTLE ELF-GIRL THAT NOBODY CARED FOR!!"
"OH WOW! FANTASTIC IDEA, WE SHOULD MAKE THIS NOW!!"

If they make a third installment, it should be Talion serving Sauron and hunting down Frodo with the Fellowship. Talion mentioned he was banished from death, so they can continue his story up until Sauron's destruction. It would be badass to have the Witch King as your ally, and to fight for the Dark Lord.
So wait did they just threw out talion’s ending from the base game? WTF!?
t-bone007 the start of the dlc to the end of the dlc was over decades but they didn't make clear
Gamer Dude no I mean at the end of the game it shows talion become a ring wraith with the mask but in this (shite) DLC he just dies before that happens essentially changing the ending.
He didn't die he was banished to bared dur and then he changes mask like the main game ending
Gamer Dude well that good other than the fact are guy talion who we have been playing for the past two games got beat by a bland traitorous SJW elf bitch.
I think talion should've killed eltariel and that is what pushed him to the edge and fall to sauron darkness and I want talion to track celebrimor not eltariel she was good for a dlc but not for a game
please don't make a game with her as the MC just make a game with tailon in heaven or something
yeah lol
A game where we shoot down arrows from heaven on our targets will be more interesting.
I'd play it if Baranor was the main character
@@cheeseburgerdan1457 I would like to play as a character like talion but in a newer generation
@@HeavyToad that'd be awesome I just wonder how they would do it.
I thought calibrimbor and talion were friends. I guess not. That made me really sad when calibrimbor left him and then talion becomes evil. :(
I knew that Celebrimbor was a son of a bitch since his dlc in Shadow Of Mordor
well in pretty much all interactions with our pal good ol celeb, he manages to come across as ruthless, manipulative, single-minded and cruel. so it was always coming.
I like how Talion had the chance to kill Eltariel and get Celebrimbor's ring back but he didn't do it.
You gotta love the Uruks in the Blade of Galadriel DLC. I love them more than i love Eltariel
So where's 11 rings? 9 for the men... Oh but don't worry there are two extra from two women
genji shimada yea, I was like “wtf? 😑”
didn't the sisters slay 2 nazguls and take the rings from them? then the rings corrupted the sisters.
that was dumb
@@emitheninja1995 So all you have to do is rip the ring off and call it a day?
@@VattenFlaskaCola123 not that simple, and most people who do kill the nazgul likely take their rings and are corrupted (perfect example is the sisters and talion)
so you have to be badass enough to not be paralyzed by fear, and also somehow manage to defeat them in a fight and take the ring/cut it off or dominate them somehow to make it come off to truly kill them, and again, if you do that, odds are the ring will beckon to you and you'll replace them
Like I get that this is the war of good vs evil and nothing's fair, but eltariel really burns me up. She betrays talion and then has the gall to act all high and mighty when talion can't fight sauron's influence any longer? After everything he had been through and sacrificed? Like when she saw into his mind and saw all that and cried I was like "yeah, feel bad. You helped create this tragedy."
Who is more evil?
A fallen man who got betrayed and became the nine
Or a
Elf girl
yep the elf girl.....
@@sergioplazat3995 elf girl is a thot
Easy, the elf girl.
is that even a question? the elf girl all the way
the she-elf.
Talion didn't die, he stlll lives as the full ending of the game stated before the dlc
I like how he eyes glow stronger when he says "I am banished from death!".
13:45 “You wear the ring of a Nazgûl, though you are not worthy of it.”
Y’know, that’s funny. I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING ABOUT YOU.
Go cry about it incel
"You speak to me of betrayal" is the line everyone talks about
but imo "You took everything from me" is way more powerful
Considering the fact that Talion had everything taken from him at the start of Shadow of Mordor
Talion had at most Celebrimbor and the ring he crafted and she took both.
Well fans complained that only Maia could withstand a lesser ring's power, so I guess in a retcon-your-own-game way they got what they wanted.
Julian Marco yea i figured it would.
talion was a lore breaking eyesore for someone who loves lotr
How does bad writing=SJW?
Answer: it doesn't. Your just a (Removed bad language because in all likelihood your just a kid, what with the incredibly bad grammer)
Also, I got more of a Bilbo vibe at the end, but maybe that's just me.
I didnt even complete her story i just repeatedly kept dying with her
Based
I would do that but I never want to play with that b4tch so, yeah.
I declare this DLC as non-canon
“I will not dominate these orcs.”
But you wanted to dominate Sauron?
Guys they can make a third one about talion
Remember zog the eternal from carnan quests? Right before u kill him he say "Be carefull, dying one For the dead are never truly dead and are just waiting to be awoken, I will wake up again. IL NEVER DIE"
so after talions death maybe zog the eternal rises up as a necromancer which he did b4 and he also arises talion because celebrimbor and eletiral that bitch are ruling morodor and he has to destroy em.
Then zog betrays talion and carnan brings talion back to kill him, 4th game
and then talion dies after killing zog cause he is the necromancer who brought him back
and then talion finds true peace]
They are making a 3rd one so spam this on their website so they dont make it aout eletarial and make them do this
