This is a two-part video of a tour of historic and scenic sites around Nantyglo-Blaina, Wales, UK, in 1999. Local historian, the late Trevor Rowson, does most of the talking. Our host and driver was Jeff Jones, the Nantyglo Welshman who set up this visit with my late brother Thomas Kennedy and myself, Jon Kennedy, webmaster of the Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, home page and a member of the Nanty Glo area historical and museum society.

I live in Nantyglo, and it’s as bleak as it looks! What a great guide you had though, so knowledgeable. I’ve learnt of things and places that I didn’t know before! I hope he’s passed down his knowledge so the next generation won’t forget all this history.

I am now 82, I have lived in the beautiful country of Thailand for the last 20 years, However I will be returning to the UK to live out the rest of my life and maybe make this family town my final resting place. Let me say that about 25 years ago small history books of many places were on sale in local paper shops. May I ask if anyone has the book of Nantyglo. It displayed another relative of mine, Sid Swithin and his daughter Jeanette, Sid was the local bus driver

To the Author of this video. Very important I think you should make another showing the grave of one of the Crawshays with its massive concrete slab that he had put over his brave to prevent anyone in the future digging up his body and mutilating his remains
