Great to see the territory that you call home. Bargoed looks like a good place to live. How sweet to learn of the old haunts where you and Caroline met and married. As always, a great look at the charity shops and estate agent's window, as well as the more historic sights, which are personal to yourselves. It's good to take time once in a while to consider how things have changed, and how they carry on changing round about us. And you're right, it's not just the buildings, it's the people and their personal history that goes into the making of the heart of any town. And what about those bench eating trees? Scary stuff! 🤣
Yes Bargoed does have a lot of history and interesting things, but the 😱 scary bench eating trees are what set it apart 😄😂 So glad you enjoyed this trip around our town, thanks for watching. 🤠😎🐼

At the age of 16 I used to run through the park going to work at 5am in the pitch black dark I always used to breathe a sigh of relief when I got past the soldier as I knew the miners would be stood outside the labour club in their donkey jackets waiting for the pit bus!

Well, you know they say. "If at first, you don't succeed..." You did it. Thank you for trying again to make this lovely tour film of your town. Someday! Someday I will come visit! If nothing else but to visit the charity shop. Lol. As a librarian, I approve of this use of the building. I am always interested in how libraries are constructed. I just got back from Seattle. The library there is amazing.

We got there in the end Laura, and it will be great if you make it too 'Someday'. Not sure if the church makes an ideal library, as the access isn't great, but we are so glad that we have a library and that the building hasn't become derelict in the middle of the town. 🤠😎🐼

As you say, the buzz has gone out of Bargoed, compared to the hey days of the weekly market and The Emporium, but with a bit of vision, who knows what could happen next? How far are you from Offers dyke? Now that is history. I've been watching a TH-cam video on Welsh history where they try to find ancient lost cities. Very interesting.
