  • Who said that supercars are only for able-bodied people ? This man shows that disability is not a limit for him, and that he has no problem driving his supercar (with an adapted driving system i.e an accelerator on the steering wheel!)

I travelled to Como, Italy in May 2019 and while I was taking a photo of this car when the owner appeared and got in the car the same way. I felt so blessed I am in good health and so inspired by his will at the same time. 99% sure it was the same guy.

over-ring accelerator, and pull/push brake. Exactly what i am getting on my Car.

I use leg braces thanks to partial paralysis and also have partial use of my left had. I also drive a standard shift Corvette. The looks I get when I pull up and park in the blue spots, just until they see what I have to go through to get out and moving. For some crazy reason some folks think that a person with disabilities cannot have nice things, including sports cars.

The only place he can put his wheelchair frame in a car like that and where he can get to it is the passenger seat. @ 1:29 you can see it.. when he leans forward.

Because he doesn't need a hand. It's his car and he is independent and does it all the time by himself. It may look difficult to you and your instincts are wanting to help but unless someone asks for help....they don't want help.

@@luxolontsantsa8797 i'd guess so, there are numerous types of hand controls, but most common is push/pull, there the ones I use too :)

    • @praetoriangaming6890

@@JoeHamshaw The ring on the steering wheel is the gas and there is probably a lever to the right of the steering wheel, which is the brake. These are purely mechanical and connected to the pedals, which are probably flipped up so you can't use them by accident. If you have a loss of hand/arm function, this setup can also be electronnically adjusted.

Sports cars are very small and usually not made for people in wheelchairs. But some sports car will hold a wheelchair behind the seats. I used to drive a very old 1990 camaro and i could put my wheelchair behind my drivers seat without tearing it down and the passenger front seat still would be empty so if someone wanted to ride they could. Now that i have gotten older.. I use a van now. putting that wheelchair in and out a car that sits lower then my wheelchair is murder now lol Well it was for me anyway.. It would be nice to own a Ferrari though!!! 😃🔥

But pain and suffering awards in Germany are ridiculously low compared to the gross domestic product. Ridiculously low. Paralyzed, not your fault. 20yo here comes half a million.
