FYI They all have nicknames for each other. Alex - Lersxt; Neil -Prat
Geddy - Dirk. Also, Alex was never married to Uma Thurman or dated Buffy St. Marie who is actually a Canadian folk singer. Alex has been with his wife Charlene since high school and they have been married for over 40 years. Cheers.

They are “brothers” they are family. You cannot have Rush if you don’t have all three. This statement just brought a tear to my eye.

I think all Rush fans would have given anything to have dinner for 4 hours with those guys. Great food. Great company & 10 bottles of wine.
I definitely recommend watching the documentary Beyond the Lighted Stage sometime, even if you don't react to it.
Many funny videos they have done. Nice to hear Neil's laugh.
I agree with other commenters here, definitely - in your own time - watch the documentary this is from, 'Beyond the Lighted Stage'. It is a top notch production. It's made by the same couple guys that made the Iron Maiden documentary 'Iron Maiden - Flight 666' which is also awesome. Two different types of documentaries. The Rush doc is about their lives and whole careers, the Maiden doc covers one tour. But both are totally entertaining. I sat my 80 yo dad down and made him watch both. He never liked any of this music - pretty much hated it when i was in jr high and high school - but he loved these documentaries. They gave him some perspective. Much like reaction videos do.

Very middle class group, in fact a US university lecturer wrote a book about Rush and the middle classes in North America. Both Geddy and Alex have major wine cellars and have been collecting for a long time, I guess part of their mid European heritage as immigrants to Canada from former Yugoslavia and Poland is part of the reason. Neil I believe his roots were possibly Scottish or N England and he was into his malt whiskey. As a wine buff myself I felt even closer to the group when I read an article in UK Decanter magazine some years ago around Geddy's wine collection.

As others have said, Beyond the Lighted Stage is a great documentary if you want to get their full story. This just shows what a bunch of goofballs they are (especially Alex), and what great trio of friends they are. Geddy and Alex were highschool buds. Cheers!

You think the boys are funny, you've got to watch the funny video intro's to my favourite show TIME MACHINE TOUR LIVE IN CLEVELAND, GERSHON'S HAUS OF SAUSAGE, NOBODY BEATS OUR SAUSAGE. The opening titles have the words ' in a neibourhood called willowdale,' is a reference to the opening lines of THE NECROMANCER, the boys are trying to find the best version of THE SPIRIT OF RADIO with the help of Alex lifesons time machine, you will laugh at ALEX LIFESON in a huge fat suit, Geddy Lee as the bar tender, and Neil peart dressed as a Cop. But things don't go to plan with Alex's time machine, followed by the best version of the spirit of radio, THEN, A COMEDY CLASSIC, THE REAL HISTORY OF RUSH/TOM SAWYER same again Alex in a huge fat suit, with 3 gorgeous girls carrying trays of beer, it's a reference to an earlier album ' moving pictures, great performance of Tom Sawyer to follow with the boys trying to play each others instruments on a huge screen behind them, the crowd laughing at the big screen, enjoy these great rush comedy performances and the best live performances of THE SPIRIT OF RADIO and TOM SAWYER, have a great laugh, best wishes from north east England.
