Making Ariana Grande's Glinda Bubble Dress from the Wicked Movie (Cosplay Tutorial)

- Hey friends! At long last, here is how I made my recreation of Ariana Grande's Glinda bubble dress... or rather gown. I started collecting fabrics back in January and actual construction in August. Safe to say this dress TESTED my skills, mental capacity and will power but it was well worth it - what a labor of love! I absolutely can't wait for the Wicked Movie release!!

The skirt and bodice were patterned through draping, but I did start with a pattern for for base corset under (altered, but a great start):

leaving this comment because I just wanted to support this for the amount of time and efforts that goes into this video and this gorgeous dress.
The vinyl bubble embellishments on the petals came out so beautifully and the finished dress and accessories were perfect. That bead army overview was also intimidating - good on you for pushing through (and enduring a finger infection as a result of the battle).
I'm so glad the bubble embellishments turned out the way I envisioned! I'm pretty sure I lost the bead battle as well as a few years of my life with that part of the project 😅
Honestly, cosplay is an extreme sport both in the making and wearing of. Also, I applaud you on successfully making a beautiful costume that likely took a WHOLE team of costumers and designers to make!

Omg I love this dress so much, it literally looks like Ariana! Thank you so much for sharing how you made it! Perhaps if you got a longer corset (that went over your hips) it will make the skirt less painful to wear? Ditto adding clasps to hold it on the corset?

Figuring out and mapping out patterns for cosplays is the hardest part imo, as long as you get that down, MOST things works out by themselves. But man it can be a frustrating and painful process, both to get started and in the middle. But it's so satisfying when you're done and put it all on.
