Thanks! Some great tips in there, a couple I didn't know or wasn't quite sure about. Another great one you could mention in future is that you can assign your seat position memory setting to your key fob. Just adjust the seat, press the "Set" button on the seat, but instead of pressing 1 or 2, you hold the unlock button on your key fob until you hear a beep. So next time you unlock your car with that key fob, and the seat has been moved by someone, it'll adjust to your position memory within 40 second of unlocking the car.
This video should be remade with this feature shown, seriously. I have a '18 6 signature. Prob won't work but if it does I didn't k ow about that and I know everything about my car..
How cool! My wife has a Mazda3 Astina (top of the line here, prob equivalent to the Signature) with the electric seats and memory positions. Must try that one!

Just drive it like your going to. You wanna break it in the way your actually gunna drive. It’s not really broken in if you just baby it just don’t floor it for the first 1000km
This is all from my 2019 CX-5 GT. Additionally with the key fob. If the fob battery is dead, place the end of the fob on the start button and it'll light up, letting you start the car. The 4 bars on the radar cruise control display are not car lengths. The distance they represent varies with your speed. When setting a new destination in the GPS that's over 25 miles away, do it manually and start by entering the zip code. It immediately tells NAV what state & area you'll be in and adjusts the expected street names. Whenever you get service done, ask the Mazda shop to also check the infotainment firmware for a new version. The panel light brightness knob has an additional function. If you push it, you change from imperial (miles) to metric (kilometers). If you can afford it, get the trim level with the heads up display. You'll love it. Speed, GPS directions, blind spot monitor and speed limit all right in front of you. If you have the heads up display, get NON-polarized sunglasses. If you use polarized sunglasses the display all but disappears. The vertical position of the heads up display can be adjusted in the settings. The lane keeping function cannot be fully turned off. The lowest level you can go it to get haptic feedback in the steering wheel and the lane flashing. At least that's better than fighting the car just to change lanes. The traffic monitoring on the map is currently $7/mo by itself from Sirius xm. Not worth it, IMO. One question I have. When the radar cruise slows the car, do the brake lights go on?
One more thing about radar cruise control! Once your CX5 has come to a complete stop, tapping on the gas once will “reactivate” radar cruise control and accelerate from stop, back to where you’re set (or to the traffic flow).
The tip on the tialgate height was a game changer for me. I have been standing in my garage judging when to hit the button so it doesn't hit my door opener. NO MORE!😃
The Bose Centerpoint is set to off for a reason. It’s ok for mixes done in quadraphonic…I play around with it sometimes but it changes the mix that was intended for the listeners. When you turn it on the stereo will be louder which tricks you into thinking it sounds better. If u want the music to sound the way it was intended I would keep it off. If I watch a movie in your car and want surround sound then turn it on.
Most all this applies to our 2018 CX-5 as well. I'm going to see if the rear recline is true too. We have the Bose sound system in ours too, but we're not really impressed by it, on or off. We think it actually sounds a bit better without it turned on.

Those with older models without a sport button can double tap on the gas pedal to full and it will go into sport mode by shifting down and staying at higher revs till you let your foot off the gas pedal
Really enjoyed the Bose tip. Much better sound with Bose centerpoint enabled I think. I will push the base up some though since the surround sound reduces the experience of it a bit I think.

This is still my first choice of vehicle. Waiting on the 2022 redesign. If I don't like it I'll buy 2021. It's so classy and premium looking. Kind of concern about the black cladding it will fade over time to that faded gray color. Great video
Cool video. Here's a just as important tip you may not know, because Mazda is horrible about not documenting this. If you want to listen to music on a USB flash drive (not a phone) then the drive you buy can be no larger than 8GB and must be formatted in FAT 32.
For sure everything n this video up to the Bose info applies to the 2017 and 2018 CX-5 models as well, and I am pretty sure what you said regarding the Bose system also applies.
I can open windows on my remote in my 2023 CX5. You have to press unlock four times and on the fourth time you hold the button and then they all roll down. Unfortunately there’s no way to roll them up but still a cool feature.
Very helpful. I did not know about the setting for Rain sensing Wipers. I also thought it was for the speed. And I'm gonna check my Bose settings to confirm. Thanks, very much appreciated! Just subbed!
I didn't want my wipers to turn on in the automatic carwash because that could damage the wipers. So I turned off my rain sensitivity in the center screen (Settings>> Vehichle Settings>> Rain Sensing). Now my "Auto" setting works as Intermittent, and now the middle dial with the bars does work for different speeds of intermittent.
Thanks for the awesome vid! Question, I have the 2022 model. I noticed your cruise monitor/lane departure screen is on the right instead of in the center with your speedometer. Is that something you can adjust? Thanks again!
We have a 2016 CX-5 and still enjoy it. I do however like our hidden spare key better as it has a chunk of plastic to hold onto while using it & it also just slides out of the fob with a bit of effort
I have another vehicle than has lane correction. I turned it off. It actually takes the wheel andmoves it back between the lines. Sometimes there's a damn good reason I'm going over the line - cuz the truck in front of me is - and if there's no one in the lane next to me I move over a bit. I don't need my car fighting me to steer back.
The GT does have a touch screen, it’s just that Mazda decided it’s unsafe to use the touch while driving so it gets automatically disabled but stop the car and the touch comes to life .. way too many people and even reviewers seem to not know about this
It was working. The Bose Centerpoint is just a feature of the system to add more range if you CX has Bose speakers it has a Bose sound system whether or not Centerpoint is in or off
I bought a CX-5 on Friday. I loved the CX-30 w/Turbo & AWD but it just wasn’t a practical choice. But it sure put a smile on my face. I had to go the next size up and I’m pretty happy but I feel the seats are hard because my butt gets sore after 20 minutes. I wish the it had LED interior lights. I wish it had a dead pedal cover instead of just carpet. I wish the brakes grabbed a lot quicker. I with the turn signal stalks had illumination. The door lock situation is a lifer weird. Apple CarPlay is buried in the setting in the screen too and also finding radio stations and changing them takes some time and a lot of attention. I can’t figure out the memory seats. I bought the Grand Touring with performance package. The ventilated seats and heads-up display are very nice to have. And unlike a lot of manufacturers, Mazda doesn’t include rubber floor mats in the CX-5, not even for a charge. Lastly I think this CX-5 needs stickier tires. I wish I would have purchased the Turbo w/AWD. Otherwise it’s a pretty nice ride and well out together as it’s manufactured completely in Japan. The color I selected is Pearl White Snowflake @ $395. Oh and I love the power folding mirrors on the outside when the vehicle is turned off. My dealer was not selling their cars below sticker so it was the first time I paid retail for a vehicle plus their $399 Documentation Fee. Thanks for the video man
Add one more...the rear brake pads wears out 56% faster than the front brake pads that has a screamer installed that goes off when it needs to be replaced. The rear brake pads will have grinding metal noise coming from the rear it will become noticeable while backing up. If you ignore it then soon you will hear it as you brake before into a complete stop.
One thing you might not know about your Surround Sound - - it defaults to OFF because most people listen to Music on their Bose system. Surround Sound is designed to enhance dialog in Movies primarily. If you are listening to Movies, Podcasts, things with a lot of human voice... then the setting in your video is correct. But the car came with it turned OFF for a reason.
Don’t rely on the radar cruise to stop you if you’re driving above 30 mph and change into a lane that already has cars stopped in it (like if you move into a left turn lane where cars are waiting to turn) because it almost never recognizes the stopped cars in front of you in time to stop you. It’s not meant for that anyway.
Thanks for commenting on this. That's been my experience, too. Radar doesn't always recognize a stopped vehicle in front of you after driving without recognizing a vehicle there.
I have a mazda cx5 2019 with a bose sound system and when I turn on the bose checkpoint and listen to the fm radio, sometimes the driver's speakers and the rear high speakers turn off, they often turn off and then turn on again. This only happens on the fm radio, when I listen via bluetooth everything is fine .Otherwise, when the bose chacpoint is not turned on, it does not happen
Loved this video...especially the key fob hint. Very cool!!! I just got my CX-5 yesterday. SO love it. Is the Safety feature on the windows only on certain trim levels?
Good thing i checked for the tow hook which by the way is missing. You must order one from dealer. Extremely expensive should you be stuck without any towing company near.
@@charliesvids on but they do. I have a manual CX-5 2020 and MRCC is there. It's a lovely feature, keeps me the distance I have set behind another vehicle and it slows down when they do slow down. However, it disengages it once it hits 17 mph. After that you're on your own and you better hit that break pedal. I guess if one's to hit the vehicle in front at 17 mph the damage should be kept to a minimum. Thank for your reply.
The radar stop function slams on the brakes, so don’t use this. I’ve had my car brake several times. It’s not a fun experience. Thank you so much for this video. I just went out and checked my Bose settings and they were off. I’ve had my car three years and I thought all my settings were adjusted right. So thank you.
Yes you can use the app to do remote start. It's meant to be used to warm up or cool down the car prior to entering. When you open the car door the engine shuts off, so you have to restart it, presumably with the key fob? It also shuts off after 15 min if you don't open the door. I can't find any info if you do remote start while sitting inside the car and just try to start driving without the fob. I think you can start it with the fob, and then drive without the fob, as long as you don't turn it off. Not sure how that works when the remote start is used.
The comment about the sound system is incorrect if you have a Bose sound system then you have a Bose sound system regardless of weather Bose Centerpoint is turned on or not. The Centerpoint mode just making it more like a home theater setup with more distinct right/left rear and center sounds would be more optimal for podcasts and some people like the way music sounds better through this feature also. But to say you need to turn it on to get the sound system you paid for makes no sense the vehicle either has bose speakers or it doesn't.

Mazda probably keeps that Bose system disabled so that when you do enable it, there will be some shock factor. "Woah, I didn't know the sound was this good!" --> impactful memory

This is still my first choice of vehicle. Waiting on the 2022 redesign. If I don't like it I'll buy 2021. It's so classy and premium looking. Kind of concern about the black cladding it will fade over time to that faded gray color. Great video
Infotainment sucks….
Trust me. 2019 owner.
Get a ceramic coating on the trim
Got my carbon edition last week love it
Mhmmm so this whole time I had my 2020 for 8 months and didn’t know the whole time my Bose speakers were off...... wow lol
So glad it helped! You technically still had Bose, just not the Surrpound Sound, which is the best part!
Yea the sound is not good without lol
Thank you!! I’ve had my cx5 for over two years and did not know 1-6
Thank you for the tips I saved this to my playlist so i don't forget haha!
of course!
Cool video. Here's a just as important tip you may not know, because Mazda is horrible about not documenting this. If you want to listen to music on a USB flash drive (not a phone) then the drive you buy can be no larger than 8GB and must be formatted in FAT 32.
Czyta jeszcze niektóre pendrive do 32GB, sformatowane w FAT 32, ale USB musi mieć standard nie wyższy niż 2,0. Pozdrawiam.
I just bought a used 2019 gt reserve. This was definitely helpful. Thank you!
For sure everything n this video up to the Bose info applies to the 2017 and 2018 CX-5 models as well, and I am pretty sure what you said regarding the Bose system also applies.
Thanks! there were a few i did not know!
I should've bought a CX-5 last year but I bought a 2019 CX-3 instead. Do you have any secrets about my car?
Can you open the windows with your remote?? I could with my old Mazda6, but not the new CX5?? I missed this feature on hot summer days...
Unfortunately nope
I can open windows on my remote in my 2023 CX5. You have to press unlock four times and on the fourth time you hold the button and then they all roll down. Unfortunately there’s no way to roll them up but still a cool feature.
Why does this video seem like it was made in 1991. Weird transition effects and music LOL.
It was!
Thanks! Didn’t know about the Bose on/off thing. I’d never turned mine on🤨
It took me a couple of days to figure it out
On or off. Doesn't matter, If you have Bose speakers then you have a Bose sound system
Been trying to figure out this rain sensor wipers for a while. Will give this a try.
Thank you!!M I wondered why the sound system did not meet my expectations
Once you turned on the Bose Centerpoint did it improve a lot?
great tips! i didnt even know about auto whippers
Those are wonderful to have D!
Can wait for your future lambo reviews
LOL
I have a 2019 CX5 with the BOSE system (including the subwoofer) and it doesn't have the slide controls you show. Mine just has boxes that you check.
Centerpoint doesn’t turn Bose audio on/off, it is the automatic surround sound level adjustment.
THANK YOU CARDINALE MADZA. LOVE MY 2020 CX5. GREAT FEATURES. GREAT VIDEO.
is there a setting where so your not fighting with wheel if you go over lane? Thanks.
This is for a CX-30, but the settings are the same: th-cam.com/video/PmBOHv4ra6c/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the awesome vid! Question, I have the 2022 model. I noticed your cruise monitor/lane departure screen is on the right instead of in the center with your speedometer. Is that something you can adjust? Thanks again!
Thanks you solved my trunk issue
We have a 2016 CX-5 and still enjoy it. I do however like our hidden spare key better as it has a chunk of plastic to hold onto while using it & it also just slides out of the fob with a bit of effort
wow, had no idea about the Bose thing! Its weird they tout the feature as a buying point but its not enabled by default
Yeah I thought the same!
The GT does have a touch screen, it’s just that Mazda decided it’s unsafe to use the touch while driving so it gets automatically disabled but stop the car and the touch comes to life .. way too many people and even reviewers seem to not know about this
I don’t think the 2021 is touch screen at all even when stopped
Oh wow really ? I just bought a new one. I think you are talking about the older ones
Thank you for that - did not know by Bose system wasn't working!
Youre welcome!
The steering wheel adjustment is cool
One thing you might not know about your Surround Sound - - it defaults to OFF because most people listen to Music on their Bose system. Surround Sound is designed to enhance dialog in Movies primarily. If you are listening to Movies, Podcasts, things with a lot of human voice... then the setting in your video is correct. But the car came with it turned OFF for a reason.
Back seat adjustment do great for child seat adjustment
I just find it so hilarious this keeps getting recommended to me. Trying to figure out how this car is tied to Blackrock taking over the world.
LOL
Don’t rely on the radar cruise to stop you if you’re driving above 30 mph and change into a lane that already has cars stopped in it (like if you move into a left turn lane where cars are waiting to turn) because it almost never recognizes the stopped cars in front of you in time to stop you. It’s not meant for that anyway.
Thanks for commenting on this. That's been my experience, too. Radar doesn't always recognize a stopped vehicle in front of you after driving without recognizing a vehicle there.
Thanks for the video. I was unaware of the Bose feature.
Youre welcome!
In what years did apply to
I have a mazda cx5 2019 with a bose sound system and when I turn on the bose checkpoint and listen to the fm radio, sometimes the driver's speakers and the rear high speakers turn off, they often turn off and then turn on again. This only happens on the fm radio, when I listen via bluetooth everything is fine .Otherwise, when the bose chacpoint is not turned on, it does not happen
Hi. I want to buy a used Mazda CX5, which year and model (signature, touring 4wd, etc) are best for beginners you would recommend?
The touring trim is the perfect fit for all your basic and even some additional needs!
Loved this video...especially the key fob hint. Very cool!!! I just got my CX-5 yesterday. SO love it.
Is the Safety feature on the windows only on certain trim levels?
It's standard on every model of mazda
All of them
Good thing i checked for the tow hook which by the way is missing. You must order one from dealer. Extremely expensive should you be stuck without any towing company near.
The radar cruise control will stop the car if cruise control is on? That would be on an automatic right? How about on a manual?
Manual won't have Radar Cruise unfortunately
@@charliesvids on but they do. I have a manual CX-5 2020 and MRCC is there. It's a lovely feature, keeps me the distance I have set behind another vehicle and it slows down when they do slow down. However, it disengages it once it hits 17 mph. After that you're on your own and you better hit that break pedal. I guess if one's to hit the vehicle in front at 17 mph the damage should be kept to a minimum. Thank for your reply.
Charlie maybe something you didn't mention, the position 1 is for baby and child car seat :)
Manufactured in Japan? Transmission and engine ?
Will any joint ventures be with Toyota on this model?
Drives door information sticker has this information.
Please check 2020 RX-5 owners.
So you can open the door if the key FOB is dead, but how do you start the car?
Press the key fob itself against the start button
Can you do a list for the 1978 Mazda 626? Thanks!
Unfortunately this former car salesman has come down with quite the case of schizophrenia so I doubt it
@@j00bert Schizophrenia is over-diagnosed. In many other cultures, when someone shows signs of what the west indicates is "schizophrenia", they start training them to be the next shaman of the village.
@@ayoungtricknamedjim5498 That's probably a big reason Western civilization is much more advanced lol
@@j00bert But it's not. Quantum physics is just barely starting to prove with computers what can be done in the body without computers. Western civilization is deliberately thousands of years behind the societies where they still have shamans. I know what is possible and western quantum physics hasn't even scratched the surface yet.
@@ayoungtricknamedjim5498 Go on man, please enlighten me. Genuinely curious now.
My Bose does not pop up as an option my screen?
Mazda probably keeps that Bose system disabled so that when you do enable it, there will be some shock factor. "Woah, I didn't know the sound was this good!" --> impactful memory
It's not disabled what he's talking about is a feature that some people think makes the car sound better when on. In truth it just gives the seakers more range. But if you pay for the Bose upgrade then you have Bose speakers I.e you have a Bose sound system wether Bose Centerpoint is on or not
