I have visited this temple and I was soo shocked because our tourist guide calculated the time using this wheel and it was freaking accurate. I am proud to be an Indian and for having such a great history and heritage❤

More interesting thing is, what you see now, is not the real temple. It is just the entrance of the temple. The real temple which was even more majestic, was partially destroyed by Kalapahada(Converted Muslim to marry a Muslim girl). He, at the time of destruction was title of Sulaiman Karrani, the then Governor of Bengal. What was left, was destroyed due to Portugese who stole the lodestone from the temple, and hence temple crumbled completely over time. What is left, is just its entrance.
Visited Konark Recently, Beautiful Temple & Mind-blowing Architecture.. Sadly, despite the large amount of tourists & Income from them. The temple is not being adequately maintained.. when I spoke to locals including guides I was told & I quote "If the temple is restored the number of tourists might reduce hence they aren't doing it" I do not agree with that approach. This site should be adequately restored so that the next generations can Visit it & bask in it's glory.. 🙏 Jai Jagganath 🙏
