- India's External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar's illustrious career as a Diplomat spans 38 years including tenures as India's Ambassador in China, the Czech Republic, the USA, Singapore and finally, as Foreign Secretary. He was picked by Prime Minister Modi himself, to be part of his cabinet in 2019 as External Affairs Minister. The articulate Dr S. Jaishankar, in an interesting conversation with Smita Prakash shares his journey from being a diplomat to entering politics. He talks about his father whose career growth as a Cabinet Secretary was halted by Indira Gandhi due to internal politics. He slams the opposition over allegations of being accommodative of China and explains the steps taken by the government to strengthen the security at the LAC. He also reveals how some foreign powers are collaborating to create a false narrative against India as the election approaches.

When Mr. S Jaisankar visited Vadodara during Navratri, I couldn't help but notice the stark contrast between the attention given to our Bollywood heroes vs the real heroes of our nation. It became apparent to me that while our real heroes work tirelessly for the betterment of our country, they often don't receive the recognition they truly deserve.

When opposition ministers in the Indian Parliament asked External Affairs Minister Jaishankar questions about Katchatheevu island, to which Jaishankar stupidly replied that the incident happened in the Congress regime, so you have to ask them. So if you ask Jaishankar about Chinese intrusion on Indian border he will again give such stupid answer. Why Jaishankar's elite brain couldn't come up with the right answer. He was given ministerial post not to blame the Congress party but to solve the problems.
My only question is whether this man who does not realize his responsibility needs a ministerial post.

Watched the whole program event thought I’m not an Indian, but a Sri Lankan. I was not interested in some the matters subject to discussion, but I was so focused on how he articulate his thoughts and transform them into words. Europe in itself is a problem and was always there so called white race and their religion Christianity

And oil discovery and industrial revolution cannot cover up their heinous crimes in past and present
Olaf Scholz actually quoted that line in one of his speeches afterwards. And a few months after Jaishankar said that the Germany ambassador publicly rubbished China's claims on Arunchal Pradesh and drew a parallel to Russia's moves in Ukraine. I think ultimately the problem is not of malice on either Europe or India's side, but that Europe and India speak different "languages" of sorts even though are talking in English. But overall I think Europe is going to try listen more, and I hope India is more effective at getting its message across.

I am an american and feel India has best leaders today. They have a PM who singlemindedly is putting India's interest above everything else.
