Brilliant driver who understands physics. Static and kinetic friction and the difference between them. Slowing down the RPM was brilliant way to stay in static friction.
There at the end of the pull the front wheels weren’t even turning just barely off of the ground. He was getting everything that that tractor had, very good operator.
That was so cool! The front tire closest to the camera still appeared to be touching the ground and yet there wasn't enough traction to rotate it at the same speed he was moving! I never saw that before.
Wow! That takes me back to my childhood. The old JD 730 2 cylinder "daff-daff-daff" In top gear pulling a trailer you could see every power stroke on the road where the wheels bit into the gravel.
A bit like watching paint dry, but nevertheless, remarkable. The tractor looks so good the way it’s set up…wheatland fenders, beautiful wide rubber, and full set of suitcase weights.
im not a jdfan but those 730 were mighty good only draw back that crank was weak very fuel efficent i have worked ona lot of trac i think 730 was the besgt of ol poppers what was his weight
A fine example of what 6000lbs, fresh tires,6 quarts of gasoline, a 372-1 gear-ratio,& 3.25 Horse Power can do in just under FOUR MINIUTES .....Realy Goffy Production.
IS NICE TO SEE AN SLED WITH FLAGS ON IT, AND NONE OFTHEM BEING AN TRUMP FLAG!!😊😊😊 IT WAS AN INTERESTING PULL WITH THE THROTTLING OF THE ENGINE DOWN, RATHER THAN RUNNING FULL THROTTLE TO THE STOP!

He was throttling down to avoid breaking traction! Once you start spinning the tires your grip falls off drastically.
Heavy flywheel?
Seems like the more the rpm's drop the better it pulls. And no smoke! Absolutely amazing!!
DANG!!!! That's lugging!! Beautiful old piece of nostalgic history! Thanks for sharing.
Those 2 cylinders just never give up. Great job
Now that's an operator.
J D sure manufacturered a fine tractor their
Those old put puts were absolute torque monsters

Torque monster. Good pull.
That is a beautiful thing to see... RAW POWER !

Thanks 👍
My dad's 730 did have torque, but that run was insane!
Love the 2 lung Lugers !
He's backing off the throttle towards the end
I think if you let them tires down a bit more......it would go all the way.
Popping Johnny.
Awesome torque!
Anyone know if the engine is stock? or?
Damn impressive puller
Fuel turned up only
Good video.
Thanks
John Deere 2 cylinder tractor's have torque

You could have timed that pull with a sundial! Awesome!
It's all power to weight ratio or an engines ability to put power to the ground.

Super torque e meu
Kinda thumbing your nose at horsepower
The highest torque level is about 666 RPM where the true lugging happens.
Dang, that's almost cheating
No hate, but why did he pull it so low rpm?
Because the idea is to not have your tires lose grip. High rpm leads to tire slipping.
@@robertmoreau9382 He knows his tractor.
TORQUE is what is needed.
The contest is simply how far can you pull the sled, not “how fast”, “how much power” yada yada
@@flyovercounty1427 I thought it was how far you could fly with it up to the moon!

Well there should be more trump flags since he will save our country and make libtards cry again.
IMPRESSIVE LOW RPM TORQUE!!!!!!!!!!
They make tractors with 4 and 6 cylinders that are even better.
Not in terms of thermal efficiency aka Fuel Efficiency. Only thing beats a twin is a giant SINGLE.
@@patrickshaw8595 You can thank modern emission compliance for why an old two-cylinder is now more fuel efficient than the same HP 4 or 6 cylinder.
A two cylinder engine will always grip better on this task because the power impulses are much farther apart and this allows the tyres time to grip
The music sucks👎
Should have had a Trump flag on that sled
F NO!
@@anderleof poor loser
So which group of people do you kick down?
Which bigot clan do you belong to?
Because that’s all that Trump and Company do is kick down on others
That was plain dumb. Show what it can do instead of playing it.
Your mom is dumb.
HE did show what it can do, it's a distance contest.
