I owned a 2001 C.L. a while back and it was a real joy to drive...Now I own a 2015 T.L.X. four dor sedan...Both have been great but the safety features and the six cylinder motor make the T.LX .my new favorite car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a shame these TL and CL had auto transmission problems. I wouldn’t mind picking one up as a project but I know J manual transmissions are stupid rare.
Not as frequent as one might think. Change the fluid at regular intervals, along with the fact honda upgraded the trans fluid. And if it does go out on you there is an upgraded 5 speed auto that can replace it.
I had a 2003 CL-S with a manual, bought new. It was one of my favorite vehicles I ever owned!

Five years after buying my 2001 CL, the transmission died. No warning. One day it just stopped working. But Acura did replace it for free.
Did an AV6 Swap about 4 years ago.. Trans still shifts like new with no issues

Honda offers enough aftermarket parts that can the best street racers among the best racers, like the Mitsubishi eclipse, and others.

The Nav system for that year was way more advanced than what other car makers offered. Also they did have upgrades for the disc up until 2019.
