I lost a goat to bloat, so I feel you. The big cubes aren't even good for horses unless you soak them. I lost my 30+ year old Appy mare to chock on an alfalfa cube. I won't give them to any one ever again. It's pellet's all the way. It's shocking how little mold it takes to get an animals sick and it might have been molding in the bag and you didn't notice it when you put it into your container. Love how you used this as a teaching moment for those who don't have farm animals. Glad Remi is alright keep us posted..
So sorry for your loss😢
So sorry .. 😢
Damn, I love goats. Never seen one in person which i find odd. But yeah they’re dope. Sorry for your loss
Tyler so glad Remi is doing ok you are a super DAD to all your animals love Gianna getting involved you make a brilliant team bless you all🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I don't understand why people have a problem with halter training their large animals (chandler I'm looking at you and your camels too!) It makes the animals safer... they can be transported...vetted...
A very important thing with any animal, large or small, is for people to try and get them used to being handled by humans as soon as possible, in as many ways as they might possibly be handled over time as long as it's age appropriate for the individual animal, the kind of animal they are, age, and so on. For example...You can get a young horse used to being touched by people, to being groomed by people, to having their faces/heads touched, to having their ears touched, to having someone open their mouth, to having someone touch their legs, to having their hooves lifted up one at a time, to having someone touch their bellies, and backs, and rumps all over, etc...Getting them used to being handled from early on by people can make life much easier for all involved as the animal gets older.
They can start working with the cow going forward. Unfortunately, if the only times she has ever been handled in a halter is at a time when she is being restrained, having unusual, frightening, uncomfortable, and even painful things done to her, and it's only occurred when she is sick, and possibly in discomfort/pain, her association between those things, and a halter could be very negative at this point in time. So getting her to be ok with being around, and into a halter in future might be even more challenging than it was in this video. One reason they were able to get her into a halter at all is that they have handled her to some degree already, which is great! If I were them, I would start bringing the halter in hand around her whenever they're doing something positive with her, such as feeding her, giving her treats, attention, etc...Making sure she sees it a lot during those times. Once she seems to have adjusted to seeing the halter in their hands like that over time, then they could work on transferring it from being held by them, to them putting it on her, possibly using high value treats as an initiative for her cooperating with having it put on, if that's something that might work well with her. She could wear a halter that fits her well all the time as long as it's made from a material that can be broken easily, if safety is a possible concern with her wearing one regularly. Otherwise, they could start putting it on her on a daily basis, making it "normal" for her, leaving it on for varying amounts of time, then removing it, making sure they praise her, and reward her with treats for cooperating with them. It's definitely not too late to work on getting her used to the halter, so that it's a non-issue in future. Same thing goes for getting her used to being led by them using a lead rope that's attached/hooked onto the halter she's wearing to walk her around. It might be challenging at times, even frustrating, but if they are consistent with it, persistent, over time, she will get used to it.
Mate it’s so refreshing to see someone that cares about animals as much as you and your beautiful family keep it up I’m loving everything about you and your channel thanks tyler
Poor Remington. I’m glad it’s good news from the vet. Hopefully she comes back from this quickly.
Awwww poor Remington 😢. I hope the meds will do the trick💜💙. I hate that this happened to her. But I LOVE how responsible you are with the animals Tyler! Prayers for 100% recovery 💜💙. Oh and props to Gianna for the "cow wrangling" 😂
Hey, Tyler... Question: Is your Corn Barrel sitting flat on the ground? If so, try sitting it on a wood pallet. The condensation of the ground & humidity may be to reason there's moisture in the bottom of the barrel. It sweats on the inside. I've had that problem before. Good luck!🍀👍🏻
I swear he spoils and loves his animals soooooo Much - This is why they walk all over him - it's soo to see animals sooooo happy - his little cow acting like a baby when he was being cured --- Poor little Moo - little brown cow - People like him are gods ANGELS for loving and caring for all these loving creatures- GREAT KARMA ALWAYS COMES HIS WAY -----
I love how Gianna is getting more comfortable behind the camera!!
Tyler, I’m married 38 great years… and YES they are always right. Love ya Tyler God bless you and your beautiful family.
You done the right thing calling the vet if you don’t know if she’s ok it’s better to get help ❤she is a beautiful cow
Learned something about cows for sure. God gotcha ya back Remington , Still many yrs to go! Glad everything is looking up.
Such a beautiful cow. Hope she’s gonna be fine in a few days.
Praying that Remington gets better. I get so frustrated when male and female internet Karens tell you that you need to take better care of your animals. Anybody, that has even a few brain cells, will automatically pick up on how much you love your animals, that none of them are ever neglected, and that you take better care of your animals, than most pet owners. Much love and respect from New Orleans, Brother. I definitely want to come tour your ranch someday. I've never been the craziest about snakes lol, but I'd definitely be willing to check them out. Take Care.
Tyler I'd like to say THANKS FOR BEING REAL! So many people are full of BS and would never post about these kinds of thangs. love yall. Cheers
I was a Vet Tech years ago and dealt with torsional stomachs caused by bloat. It’s so scary but you did the right thing. You’re doing a great job, Tyler!
🐄❤️🐄
I love Highland cows they are so sweet. Your a good dad to all your fur babies xx
Get better soon Remy
My dog ( profile pic ) had this condition her whole life. I was always changing her diet to see what was easiest on her. Rachel ray nutrishish was the food that gave her the best quality of life believe it or not. She made it to 10 years old. She passed away about a year ago now. Vet didn't even really know what caused it. I took her to 5 different vets a total of 15 times. She always came out of the bloat but my lord was I truly hard on all of us. She's free now
LOL Love G! She's starting to really come out of her shell! Tyler, let her shine!
That's so sad ☹☹☹☹ Remmy will get better in time!! Blessings to all of you xx🤍💞💞
Back in Zimbabwe on the cattle ranch we would have to make an incision in them to release the air when any of the cattle would get severe bloat.
We had 4 thou head of cattle so couldn’t get a vet out every time we had a problem but obviously I’d definitely not recommend making an incision in Remy. Just stick to what the vet says. Our cattle would recover pretty well but the risk of infection is very high, we had all the meds and wound sprays and whatever to manage it but sometimes things would go south and we’d have to put the cow down. However releasing the air more often than not saved the cows life, it’s extremely uncomfortable for them too so it’s instant relief. But Remy’s case isn’t that severe and I reckon she’ll recover quickly.
She’s such a sweetheart.
Glad you have a vet to do housecalls. We chose a vet practice like that too. Hope Rey feels better fast. Gas isn’t fun for any of us lol. Love seeing Gia and Ryder in the video. ❤
All large farm animals almost always have vets that come to you...i mean how do ya get a horse or cow inside a vet office
Farm vets come out to the address, you only need to visit the hospital if it’s severe and can’t be treated on call.
So vets come out for injections, bloating, colic and so on.
So relieved for sweet Remy. Love that you care for your animals like you do.
I'm so glad Remy is going to be ok... she's such a sweet cow! Love you guys!
I lost my 10 yr old female German Shepherd in July to a similar issue. No emergency Vet in my town i drove 80mph 22miles to Pensacola but my girl didnt survive the trip. Im still torn up over losing my family. That dog was all i had in this world.
So sorry i pray God puts a special animal back in your life to try to fill that whole ❤😂😂😂
We need a follow up video showing Remy back to health.
Ha Ha, Mama G told ya so! Been watching Dr. Pol on National Geo Wild and have seen at least a hundred cows suffering from bloat, and yes it can be deadly, Tyler you can learn a lot from his show about cows, horses, practically any animal you can think of (I've even seen him save a couple of pet reptiles). Hope that does it, and all is well. Thanks for taking us along, just sorry about the situation.
Tyler I hope Remington makes a full recovery. I hope her side goes down.
So glad someone could come out and take care of Remington !
Poor Remy I hope she gets to feeling better soon. And it's always a pleasure to see Gianna and Ryder
Hi Tyler That must have been so scary for you. I know how much you love Remington. Glad that Gianna was able to help catch her, and tie her up. The vet bill was worth it to make sure that she is ok. You will be able to give her the medicine that she needs. She is so beautiful. Cindy
I grew up on a ranch. Bloat is nothing to poopoo about. Serious issue that can easily and quickly take the life of cattle because of their many stomachs and digestive system. You absolutely did the right thing calling the vet. Parasite control is also imperative when their diet is “varied” and different things she consumes might cause gas. Parasites hinder the digestive “flow” and exacerbate bloat. Good job picking up on the early signs and acting on it. She’s a special girl! ❤❤❤
I'm usually not a crying person, but this one hit me right in the feelings.. Poor girl. Grew up on a farm so I know this struggle in between "Will it pass" or "Do we need a vet".
It could be the corn wasn't dry enough from where you bought it. If you have an option for it, with a heated floor inside your house, spread some corn out on a tarp, thin layer, leave to dry, doors closed to that room but make sure to put those moisture absorber buckets in there, bags of rice, anything that can soak. You ought to get a moisture meter if you don't have one. A good one can be pricey, but it's well worth it if it can save a fluffy pets life. Agreto GFM-plus is a good gfm if you need one. Sending lots of thoughts to Remy. Lil baby girl🥺
Also, I see Brady lost his last ball. New ones coming up?
Very glad to hear Remmy is doing well. Last year we had to put down a horse that I grew up with, she was 26 years old. Absolutely hear wrenching to have to do that.
I hope she will be ok, she is the sweetest cow... Just luv her
Gianna is bloody Wonder Woman 💪🏼 plus I think she looks like an angel 🥰
❤🏴❤️
Our animals are our children. Your compassion and kindness is true. Money means nothing if it means saving my pets life. However I may need CPR or sedative after getting my vet bills but hey it's part of being a pet owner. 😅
Blessings to you and ALL your FAMILY.
Your a great dude happy to see she is getting better ! I give you and Chandler the upmost credit for what you do for us. Outstanding guys ✊🏼
Agreed 👍
Hey quick life saving trick for bloat old cattle farmers way. Run the feeding tube down and pour in warm water and baking soda mix, wait a couple mins then pour in some vegetable oil. Has saved many calves lives on my family's cattle farm for a long time and we never called the vet.
You guys are the best parents. ❤ human and animal. ❤️
Glad Remmy is ok. Hope everything is going well. I absolutely love Gianna. :) Wifey's are normally right lol.
Thanks, Tyler... that it Beautiful cow.
Tyler your such an inspiration to animal lovers man! Your family is so beautiful!
Hope Remy will be good as new in no time. Thankfully you keep a good eye on your animals and work fast to help them. I had mold in the bottom of my chopped corn and sweet feed barrels. They were kept covered with lids and were kept in the feed shed and it still happened. I asked the grain mill owner about it. Told him it never got wet. He said the barrel will sweat on the bottom if on the ground due to temperature changes and moisture in the ground. He told me to put the barrels on wood pallets to get them off the ground and allow air circulation. He even gave me a couple. Never had a problem again with mold in the bottom. Tip: You should buy a cow halter (the kind that stays on) for Remy and work with her putting it on and off and leading with it on. It will save you lots of time and trouble in situations like this.
With all the rains you guys got the grass is really rich thick and lush and to much can lead to bloat
Aww, poor Remy. I hope she gets better soon. 🙏 She is a beautiful girl. Her face is too precious. She is Brady's bud. Even though he tortures her. Lol. Keep us updated. Good to see Gianna and Ryder.
Poor baby, hope she gets better soon.
Remy get better baby we all here for you remy ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Feel better Remingirl.
My man on it at all times much love Nolan family God bless Ryder's Ranch 🙏
Glad she is doing good it's scary when pets get sick. This is not meant as hate or anything negative i enjoy your videos and owning a cow is something new for you and with anyone and any new animal they never had experience with you learn as you go. In my opinion id cut back corn amount and i would build a hay feeder off The ground with a roof over top helps to save hay from getting moldy. Cows really need hay not pellets in my opinion. Senior animals i could see using them but thats just about it though. Diy bloat trick baking soda and water/oil and walking helps that way no vet bill next time. But it just goes to show how much You just care and love your animals. Much love and blessings for you and your family great job Tyler! 10:05
Hey, Ty and G x so I used to keep horses obvs I know its not a cow but.... regular work with them putting halter on an off walking them round with it etc will b great for when she's bigger and things like hoof trimming vet visits etc x I found best way with hoofstock is just persistent and slow work. So every time u go in with the halter, give her a treat if she let's u stroke her with it, do that for a week or so then when she happy with that try just resting it on her neck again treats everything she is good with it and just slowly keep progressing till u can pop it on. Then u can reward her with treats and a wonder around the property etc until she is happy being caught x will make ur lives way easier ❤❤❤❤ hope the baby gets better soon x
Oh Remy! I do hope she’ll be healed up completely soon!!!
i like to give scratches in the area you give the shot or have someone give scratches on her head or neck on the other side when giving IM shots! (also if you have 25 gauge needles it’s less painful). i’m pretty sure the act of the vet going super fast was more traumatic than if she would have gone tons slower. (it really feels like a horse fly bite and they’re used to those) excess grain and pneumonia are common causes so if you get a stethoscope you can always take a listen to her breathing at home and buy a thermometer and take her temp rectally (easiest to get if another person hold the cows tail up and back and normal temps are 101-103) so you can figure out if you need to call a vet out immediately or not. praying for a quick recovery!
I know this vid is about Remi & I'm glad it looks like she's gonna be ok, but I gotta say Brady 🐐 is becoming my favorite on the ranch! He's such a little menace 😆
Her moving around will help her push out the gas. Im glad shes okay
Good job guys… it is really important to halter train young livestock that is going to b socialized it is a safety issue. Love your videos
Love the video. I do use the alfalfa cubes for my horses, but only after i've soaked them for a couple hours. i like the folage to help keep their guts moving. If you don't soak them, someone will choke. Goats are so cute with there pot bellies. you may want to work with Remey on wearing the halter and being walked around. get her uesd to being touched all over and picking up her feet. it really helps with vet care and basic care. Brady needs a jungle gym for goats to keep him busy. puzzel treats work good to keep goats busy. you guys are great, I learn alot from you. thanks.
🐂 I grew up on a dairy and live stock Vet visits are expensive 😱💰 !! Alot of things can happen and go wrong . Just be ready for it .🥺Poor baby .🐂🐮❤️
I hope that Remington feels better quickly! For next time you have to halter her, fast way to get a halter on her is put the halter on the ground and put her food in her halter. when she bends over to eat the food (cows are very food motivated) you pull the halter on. Once its on her face she shouldn't care about you adjusting it, its getting it near her in the first place. If she is distracted by food then it should make it a little easier, also works with horses and ponies if you ever decide to get one of those in the future too. :)
Poor Remy ❤ Hope she's feeling better soon.
Just an FYI you guys can go to a feed store and buy her a regular halter, you don’t have to keep that rope halter on her like that.
Horse person here. You have to soak the timothy cubes, and let them sit, and after that they are perfectly safe. You can also fill hay nets with the loose timothy hay to keep them from wasting it and getting wet and moldy on the ground.
I’m so glad Remi is ok. I have a Persian cat named Remington that we call Remi. Speaking of bloat, Sheba and Hannibal need to eat out of an elevated food/water dish. Big dogs can get bloat easy. I had a 200 lb Saint Bernard and had an elevated food/water dish for her. Being hot and leaning down to drink a lot at one time will cause it. My vet actually saved a Saint Bernard’s life years ago bc of bloat. You may already know this, but I just wanted to say something. Brady is such a mess. How’s Bruce the croc monitor?? I haven’t seen an update on him in a bit. Can you show the cats in a video as well. I’ve never seen them. Baby Ryder is just so stinking cute and growing like a weed. Have a great day 💜🐍
I love Tyler and chandler real south florida legends!!
$800 !!! That is mad. No one should ever say. U dont care for ur animals Tyler Xx❤
Gianna is funny .great addition to the channel. She giving Tyler the business. Lmao
These vet bills are a bummer, but glad Remmington will be ok.
I love my big scary guard dogs . They protect your home they love there family and love ones . .
Its why keeping up with halter training with big animals like cows if you can. It makes it less stressful for them if you need to use it and safer for you. Im glad its ok. You always take such good care of your animals.
Yeah bloat can be very fatal if u don't take care of it... Dogs can get it as well.. read here that goats can too... But I know from now on y'all will be on the lookout now that y'all know... Such a beautiful cow ... Hopefully she feels better soon.... might need to get a real halter to put on when she's full grown.. be easier than chasing down a full grown cow, should the need arise again... Get her use to being handled, alot.. Makes things easier in the long run...glad y'all made it home safe and glad all is well at home... God bless you and your beautiful family...💜
Your dedication to the health and safety of your critters is commendable. Much respect to you!!
I hope Remy will be ok 🙏❤️
Poor Remy, hoping for a full recovery.
You are the best TH-cam ever good job have a super day Tyler Nolan
Hope she gets better soon for you Tyler
Hope she gets better soon!
You are great to your animals.
I know you tried little tennis balls on Gradys horns. I saw swimming noodle cut to length on a pair of goats...Thanks again, Tyler and fam
Aww she’s so sweet 🐮 ❤
Hope she will be back to normal soon
I hope Remy feels better soon!!
The most important words of the entire video... you are right! LOL
Good hands. Hey not arguing is aways. Good.. 😂😂 many blessings
Awwww poor Remy!!! Praying she gets to feeling better!!!
So hard to not know what's going on since they can tell you. Thank goodness she's gonna be ok❣️🥰🙂
So glad the cow is ok glad yall are doing good to!!!
I love all your videos I love to see how you treat all your animals
Ryder makes me smile 😊
Best Luck Always Tyler.
"they're always right" same here boss 🤣
Hope remy will be ok!
She’s a beautiful highland. I would suggest putting a halter on her and occasionally putting a lead rope on her. She definitely needs handling if not for anything other than when she needs vet attention. Start walking her around the property. Basically make her part of the family. Because like chandlers camel when they get big, you dont want to not have control. Much respect and keep up the good work
I’m learning a lot, thank you Tyler.
poor Remy but it is the benefit of her health and make sure she's happy and healthy.
I do like the good and bad filmed here, it's just reality when owning a lot of animals.
Remi is very cute. Glad hes ok tyler. The love for animals that you and chandler have is amazing. Love both your channels.keep these video s coming xx
It is a good idea to train her with the leash, it is very helpful skill to master. cows take some time but if you work them she should be comfy in the head harness/leash
You are an awesome pet lover Tyler
Gianna has become the number 1 farm hand - glad mooo mooo is ok
