Great job, this was the first thing i done with my Model Y. Personally i got mine with Tesla logo which you stick on the centre hub, just makes the car look nicer. 😎
I must be weird. I prefer the before.. I have a MYLR and kept the stock covers. I did think people would replace the 19 inch wheels for larger ones, and as I wanted a second set to have winter tyres on I'd been keeping an eye on ebay for them, but good sets rarely some up. Maybe people just do what you've done and fit larger trims....
Nice video. Tesla alloy upgraded wheels and metallic paint are pricey. Would like to see you review an accessory instrument cluster if there are any good ones.
Is it me or did Tesla not fit your rear plate straight as well 😂. Wish I had these on my model 3, 3 years ago. My lease is up in 9 months and the edge of my wheels all need refurbing first. These look ace for the money. You just need the rear spoiler now.😊
Yes I did, quite easy to apply, it’s only one sided as well so doesn’t stick to the actual wheel, just makes for a dig fit and offers some protection to the rim.
What would an insurer do if you damaged one in an accident, would they need to buy a full replacement set or just replace it with an odd Tesla original?

Do change plastic wheel trims for another set of plastic wheel trims (albeit with a different design) constitute as a modification and has to be notified to your insurance? This is the biggest thing making me not wanting to make any mods on the exterior. The UK insurance system seems to be so backwards when it comes to minor enhancements like this.
That’s what we’ll find out, EV Base state that these are better than the plain alloys but I need to test the figures vs the stock trims once I have enough data for it to be worthwhile
The standard ones are just as easy, hopefully if you can afford the car you can afford the trims. I’m a glass half full sort of chap, not everyone is out to get you.

Reach thru the back and push the clips to ease them off, rather than just pull. Much simpler and safer. Love mine ❤

I got them for free, they came from South Africa I think!

Maybe but the originals don’t protect the wheel rim (these do) and not sure how well a wrap would last on a wheel trim.
I know your trims were gifted but what about simply spray painting the original tesla trims black?
I think the car is leased, so could cause some issues I guess.
It would look awful and last about 20 mins before it peeled or got chipped.
I guess you loose the added range the factory trims gave?

Easy to fit and easy to steal, hope yours do not get nicked. They look OK, but I find Teslas look very bland, so anything to help improve their looks.
