    just bought the car mats, storage trays and airflow covers from your affiliate link. I will buy the mud flaps and wheel covers next week when I have been paid. My model Y is arriving on Wednesday, so very excited now. thanks again for the videos, all very useful.

      Thanks. I did a separate video on the 3W mats th-cam.com/video/F2XL65KH7Tw/w-d-xo.html
      Big day Wednesday. I hope it goes well. Remember that collecting a Tesla is a different experience from buying from a traditional dealership. Don't expect the same.

    I would agree, a little bit loose is better.

    I think I agree with all of those choices, except I would have the door liners. As you say though, kids and sticky things make that decision!

      There's a reason why they're the world's best selling car. They're brilliant.
      And the world's safest car too.

      @@GoGreenAutosthe world’s safest car? Surely a Volvo XC90 wins that accolade. The comment at 2:22 was hilarious!

    I’m waiting on delivery of my MY, but I’ve ordered the same accessories apart from I have gone for a screen protector and not the arm rest tray. I have kids so I may get the bin that goes in the centre at the back. That might stop sticky things going in the door storage.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes as all the door bins are lined with carpet, that would be a good idea.

    Hi Matt, good video and I pretty much agree on all of the accessories mentioned. What are your thoughts on the side-bins for the two Model Y boot wells I wonder. Also you mentioned wheel trims in the video that cover the edges of the Gemini wheels, just wondering which ones you were looking at as there’s no link in the details ?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've got two videos coming up very soon (first one next Wed, then second two weeks later) on wheel trims. As for the storage bins, I couldn't really see the benefit of them as the side bins in the Model Y are already bins, so stuff doesn't fall through into the main under floor storage, unlike on the Model S. So in the Model S, yes. But in the Model Y, I can't see the point, other than having a lid. But that needs removing every time you want to drop something in there. To me they feel like an accessory that at first seems a good idea but in practice are pointless.

    I have a model 3 but the screen is the same. I find it very reflective and I put in a screen protector to reduce that. Tbh I’m not sure that it solved the problem very much, but it is a little better.

    Hi Matt Great video. Good choices on the accessories I have pretty much the same on my model y. be interested to see the wheel trims as I am undecided on mine. I looked at removing them and just having the alloys but the trims have damaged the surface of the wheel underneath. Has yours done the same?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've got two new wheel trim videos filmed and coming up on the channel over the next 3 weeks. As for damage, not yet. But this is something I am going to monitor and plan to add some fabric tape to the rear of the covers to stop any rubbing. Again this is something I will look at in a future video. I just need to get some more miles covered first with the new wheel covers on to see if they do mark the alloys.

    Has the 2024 Model Y changed at all compared to the 2023. I’ve heard the rumour of the Juniper Model Y coming out late 2024/25. There are some great deals on new 2023 models and getting quite interested.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the 2023 and 24 models are the same. I'm told the suspension was revised in March 2023 on UK models.
      From what I've read, Juniper wont be with us until sometime in 2025.

    Hey Matt,
    How do you find the ride on the model Y ? A few reviewers said it was very harsh, but I think I saw somewhere that Tesla updated the suspension a while ago ?
    Would like a model Y myself, but need to wait until secondhand ones lose some more money first.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I did look at second hand Model Ys, but the suspension is what deterred me. Apparently the suspension revisions came here in March 2023, so I only was going to consider a car from this date.
      I've only ever driven the latest Model Ys (two test drives and my new vehicle) and it's still pretty firm, but acceptable. After all, you can have a car that can corner like these and be soft too.
      My cousin tried my MY a few days ago to see what the suspension was like, then we did the same roads in his new LR Defender 110 with air suspension and we both concluded that the pot holes, drain covers etc we drove over in both vehicles felt the same. This was very surprising as we were both expecting the MY to be considerably worse. But it wasn't.

    Has this Model Y replaced your Model S Matt? I know you said it has been written off but i thought you were trying to repair it, don’t recall any video update?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes it has. I did try to do an update video, but struggled with the editing, so needed to re-record it and then not got around to it.
      I decided against repairing it. Tesla were also offering free supercharging transfers to a new Model Y (also S & X), so that made the decision for me and it came at the right time too. So I did this before the Model S was finalised.

    as you may know that old people feel very cold, they always need the heating on very high, are electric cars suitable for old people ?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course. Most have heated seats and heated steering wheels too, which is a huge bonus. My father wants to get an EV for the heated steering wheel!
      But obviously with a combustion engine, heat is generated from burning fuel, so there is an abundance of it, along with the poisonous gasses too. With an EV, the heat has to be generated, so that does use energy. But many EVs have heat pumps and they're pretty efficient. The heat pump on the Model Y is next level and scavenges heat from all sorts of sources. During this winter, if I put on the preconditioning, the cabin has gone from 0 degC to 19 degC in just 4 minutes!

    Looking to be model Y. Brand new or by from auctions?

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I looked at the ones coming through auctions before getting mine. I wanted one registered after March 2023 as they have the revised suspension. Not too many of them going through auctions when I was looking (Oct 2023) as still too new. But there were plenty of 1+ year old ones with a huge saving vs new. The RWD depreciates less and were selling for the same prices as LR models! So if you want a LR or Performance, there's some bargains to be had by buying used. I was weighing up new vs used, but for me, new came with free supercharging (transferred from my Model S), so it was worth the extra to buy new.
