I’m loving this series. Though I’m certainly old enough, somehow I never saw this before. In this particular episode, Donald Pleasence is absolutely brilliant. SPOILER: He plays the part of a guilty man as I imagine a guilty man would behave ... not all calm, cool and collected, but fidgety and guiltily. I applaud his performance! It was brilliant.
Their chemistry is fantastic in this, especially at the end. Pleasence's turn on "Columbo" was every bit as good. Watching two talented performers play off each other so well is a joy.
I am stunned by the fact that she was only 23 at the time of filming. Her acting is already superior to many actors who are much older. Kate Mulgrew is an incredible and under utilized talent.
We have to assume this depicts an earlier time in Mrs. Columbo's life as Peter Falk was 52 at this point and had been playing Columbo for over a decade. Kate would have been a pre-teen when they got married if the series were on the same timeline.
Kate Mulgrew is great , she played in Murder She Wrote a couple of times and I enjoyed her in Mrs. Columbo that changed to Kate loves a mystery and then in Star Trek series. Very talented.
Probably the best Mrs. Columbo episode. A decent plot, great turns from Mulgrew and Pleasence, and some genuinely funny moments. "And then he maced himself and put on a false beard!"
"Any Port in a Storm". Adrian Carsini of Carsini Winery. My favorite "Columbo" episode. I believe Donald Pleasance is one of the most underrated actors.
Of the few episodes of Mrs Colombo/Kate loves a mystery I have seen, this is my favorite . A wonderful performance by Donald Pleasance who steals this episiode. Kate Mulgrew made a rather strong lead actress headlining this show and her unveiling of him as a the murderer is done with such sympathy and sadness.
We've been poisoned, lied to and fed non-stop violence and pain, this is the result they wanted. No more variety shows, no more Bandstand, no more Com' On Get Happy. Just nasty confusing nonsense.
Kate Mulgrew has always been a very talented actress from her time on Ryan's Hope all the way up until now. I think what makes her an awesome actress is because she wanted to prove her father wrong and she had to be strong being the second oldest girl in her family because her mother really depended on her more than anyone else.
I only saw the 1st episode of this & watched FEW episodes of Voyager, so I'm just now finding out that she finally got the exposure I felt she deserved, as CPT Janeway. I always thought this gal could ACT, though! Here, she's 23 @ the oldest, & she did a GREAT job of playing a 30-something wife and mother! 😁
Donald Pleasence was a great actor. He was in one of my favorite Columbo episodes, Any old port in the storm. Thanks for posting. Thought Mrs. Columbo was lost, never could find it. Did she and Columbo divorce in this series? She reminds me of Beverly D'Angelo.
That Was One Of My Favorite Colombo episodes as well. He Name was Carsini, An Wine Connoisseur in "Any Old Port in a Storm". It was a 3part episode. He Did an Excellent job.
That’s true! Columbo seemed to respect and admire Carsini. Any Old Port in a Storm is one of my favorite episodes of the Columbo mystery series. I loved the chemistry between Falk and Pleasence.
Seeing Donald pleasance guest star in an episode of this show is totally awesome he was a guest star in an episode of columbo as a wine lover that murdered his brother and that's a good episode
Just like the Mister she has the uncanny knack of finding clues , discerning motives and catching the criminal in compromising places .Were the writers the same or otherwise given a clear cut template to follow ? Hmmm !Very convenient indeed Mrs C .
That clearly was the intent. The difficulty was in the execution. The writing clearly was not as sharp as on Columbo. The inverted "how to catchem" mystery is not the easiest genre to write.
My mom liked Donald Pleasance..he was in a movie she liked ..it came out some time ago called The Hallelujah Trail l think she said his character was called Oracle Jones...a must see
While I’ll always love and remember her most as Captain Katherine Janeway, I also remember her here on this series and way back on… Ryan’s Hope? (I think that was the name… too lazy to Google, lol!)
Well Well Well if it isn't Michael Meyers' therapist Dr. Sam Loomis. If he wasn't busy flirting with Kate Mulgrew or as I know her better as Captain Kathryn Janeway. Then maybe he would have been able to help Michael before he became evil incarnate.
Actually I didn't believe the Chief Inspector should be considered a murderer of Saunders. The man shot at Chief Inspector Marley to kill but Marley caused the bullet to go wild and in their struggle, the gun went off. Self-defense. However, this all led to the true murderer of Lily Corday, so justice did catch up to the Chief Inspector at last.
Well, he had killed someone previously (that's why the guy was after him) and that previous connection would've probably come out if he'd reported this killing and claimed self defense. You know, once the real identity of the victim had come out. Still, this guy probably was not an excellent cop even in his prime with all the goofs he made.
Columbo characters were all relatable, the murderers in this series, evil, of the other ones I saw, I stopped watching. Series lasted 1 season, others must feel the same.

I am not singling anyone out: the entire cast is transgender, as always. Hollywood has been transgender since Day One. Enter the word 'transvestigation', above, filter to most recent (as Google hides them before removing), and take your pick, avoiding paid shill 'Nick Arcolla'. If you can't see it, that's your problem. Party on. I am enjoying the movies (apart from the awful music). And 'Peter Falk' was female.

This is my favourite episode. The interaction between Kate Mulgrew and Donald Pleasence is brilliant. Thanks for posting.
Donald Pleasence! I love how openly annoyed he is by her presence ;)
Their chemistry is fantastic in this, especially at the end. Pleasence's turn on "Columbo" was every bit as good. Watching two talented performers play off each other so well is a joy.
I love this one as well. ❤🎉
This was the very first episode I watched - just now. What brilliant acting ✨
I am stunned by the fact that she was only 23 at the time of filming. Her acting is already superior to many actors who are much older. Kate Mulgrew is an incredible and under utilized talent.
I couldn't agree with you more! She's always been so good, beginning with "Ryan's Hope" & continuing into the present.
Kate Mulgrew very talented here as Mrs Columbo also excellent in her Star Trek series.
23?
Me too

Kate Mulgrew acts very well in Mrs Columbo.
And then Orange is the New Black!!
Probably the best Mrs. Columbo episode. A decent plot, great turns from Mulgrew and Pleasence, and some genuinely funny moments. "And then he maced himself and put on a false beard!"
I loved this show. I wish it had lasted longer
Kate Mulgrew is a Very good Actress here and her later roles.
"Carmichael shot himself. [Single affirmative nod.] And then he maced himself and put on a false beard." Hahaha, she kills me!
I’m starting to get the impression that they brought back all the columbo killers 🤣 fantastic because this guy was the wine king
"Any Port in a Storm". Adrian Carsini of Carsini Winery. My favorite "Columbo" episode. I believe Donald Pleasance is one of the most underrated actors.
Well, they also got Columbo favorite Robert Culp for the premiere

Kate Mulgrew made a rather strong lead actress headlining this show and her unveiling of him as a the murderer is done with such sympathy and sadness.
I have always adored Donald Pleasance but even from an early age he always seemed older than he actually was 😊😊
He ALWAYS looked the same no matter how old the movie is. The man never aged. He is probably only 28 here. (LOL)
Harry Morgan was the same.
What interests me the most is all the laughter. When did laughter (and yes even happiness) become skills lost to the past?

Loved her on Ryan's Hope!!!! I still watch RH and have my recordings of every episode!!! What a delight!
The former Inspector..he is played by a great actor. Thank you for the video
Great to see these again!😊😊😊 thanks for the upload

Kate Mulgrew very accomplished actress here as Mrs Columbo and in Star Trek too.
Yes, in one episode, Kate explains that they parted ways but are still on friendly terms. Never shows Columbo to my knowledge
Love all of these episodes❤
Donald Pleasance is brilliant 💎
Always a great show!
I like Donald Pleasance so much here like in the Columbo episode I was sad to see him get caught. Columbo had taken a shine the him as well.
That’s true! Columbo seemed to respect and admire Carsini. Any Old Port in a Storm is one of my favorite episodes of the Columbo mystery series. I loved the chemistry between Falk and Pleasence.
Yes, Ms Mulgrew (68). she looks amazing and Beautiful as always. She is now the New York Times Best-selling Author. Congrulations Ms Mulgrew 😊😊💖💖
He left fingerprints everywhere... Phone, shoe, paintings etc... Good actor though...
And She smudged them over on the mace pen when she handled it. And it seems no one even bothered to check for prints anywhere anyway
Great show. ⭐️⭐️👍💚💛❤️🤗🥰
Blofeld vs Captain Janeway. Now there's a team up that I never thought I"d see!
Don’t give this guy any wine
The men from Halloween and Gimme a Break ☺️
It's been a while but I'm really enjoying these shows which I had watched years ago.
They should have made him spit out his tea. 😂

CLAAAAASICC BRITISH BONNNNND BARANNN...!!!..IN THISSSSSSSS OOOOONEE..!!
The painting was more intriguing with the shadow!
So, that's what Janeway did before becoming a Captain :-D

Hey it's Dolph Sweet. I recognized his voice. He was funny in Gimme a Break.
Hadn't the police heard of fingerprints in 1979?!?!?! His, where everywhere around the crime scene.

This show is where she got her mamma bear training before Star Trek Voyager, lmao.
Before Dr. Loomis became Micheal Myers doctor!!
Thanks for pointing that out 🖤
Almost 20 years AFTER he was Dr. Michaels in Fantastic Voyage.
This came out March 1st 1979 first Halloween came out in 1978
Overall, I find the series campy but fun. This episode was wonderful. She played against a much more seasoned actor and pulled it off flawlessly.
Donald Pleasence Ian Morly, acting was always intrigued me. An ordinary-looking man becomes beyond ordinary. Looked up his Bio on Wikipedia,
I don’t understand, it was self defense !

The great one and only Donald r.i.p great acTor
Why hadn't the police taken things away for evidence
she has gone from an american accent in other shows to an english accent
Is it possible to get a better subtitling in English as there are so many errors. Tks.
Just hope she has more common sense than in the last one...very frustrating to watch her foolish decisions.
Mrs. Columbo is clever, but not wise...
The guy at the beginning is the guy for the Friday the 13th movies right?
No he is Dr Loomis from Halloween
@@debrakiser1976 right I was thinking Halloween but said Friday the 13th
I'm confused, why how did this Lilli Corday come to her end? Feel like there's a piece missing.
I wanna be offended but I can’t be. I’d be a horrible housewife. This woman has her life together. Female equality ftw.
I didn't catch the ending.
Classic

2 seasons, in point of fact.
Bit strange
The robot voice got annoying in the first episode 😐
I know, Right!🤖
Why didn’t they carry on this series it was just as good as columbo I loved it
