This song was so healing to me after I lost my husband to cancer. I was so outraged, and infuriated that my puny voice couldn't do justice to the anguish and fury I wanted to let out. I wished I could tear my chest and throat open to let out the howls. Then I discovered this song, and played it loud, Louder, LOUDEST, over and over, and even felt like the lyrics were written just for me, how this event was not like the others and I would have to really grow the eff up now and adult alone. I can't express how much this song helped me honor my grief. I love The Foos for that. RIP, Taylor.

Oh, man! I'm really sorry about your husband. I couldn't imagine having to experience something like that. 😔 It is so awesome though that this song helped you cope in your time of need. Music is almost magical in that sense.

I've seen your comment on another reaction video but I think I'll respond this time---I'm going to keep your story in mind for the days when my own grief overwhelms me. You're right, the energy about this song is a perfect conduit for that just unholy rage you feel, at the universe, at yourself, at your loved one for leaving. I recently lost my father to cancer and we had a complicated relationship, but I held his hand as he passed. It feels like there's so much more I needed to say, and so much more I wanted to ask him, all gone forever.

That's what Rock is all about. So many people think it's just screaming and shouting and loud noises. But they totally see it wrong. it's about passion, love, loss, its emotion behind the sound. It's loud because it's strong.
Rock saved me. I put on my headphones listen to Foo Fighters or Airbourne or whoever. Sing loud and dance or head bang. Letting all my depression, sadness, anger and frustration all out.

That little guitar mini-solo made me think of Apollo 440's "STOP THE ROCK" th-cam.com/video/N9hxOi8w-as/w-d-xo.html. Check the video at around the 2:30 mark if you don't have time for the entire thing. Killer tune, though, you might give it a listen. Also, after listening to this one by the Foo Fighters, it's always nice to chase it with Skillet's "FEEL INVINCIBLE" th-cam.com/video/Qzw6A2WC5Qo/w-d-xo.html while your pulse is still cranked.
