I really agree with Hakim here. With the sharp increase in exploitation of the working class, especially among children, we are going to see an equally sharp increase of class consciousness among Gen Z. The youth are our only hope.
Either you or Hakim here are thinking too optimistically because more exploitation does not equal more class consciousness. More exploitation makes socialist slogans sound more appealing but they can be appropriated by fascists like many times in history. A strong organization that agitates and propagandizes will make more people class conscious, not the conditions. Look at America, many still think they're just temporarily unlucky millionaires.
Research does show this, both for Millennials and Zoomers.
If they can be motivated enough to care. I feel like a lot of kids just don't give a fuck about anything anymore. Total anhedonia.

Canadian here. I have never watched CBC giving that I'm a francophone. But I can tell you about Radio Canada. Yes shure they are a state own capitalist propaganda news comporation.

My point beeing that for a state owned media it's really far from the worst and that if the BBC dont have same label on twitter as the CBC when they are in the middle of a scandal because it's chairman did not disclose that he helped arrange the line of credit for the former prime minister in early 2021, weeks before he was appointed to the BBC post on the government’s recommendation, it's just means that it's an attack on the liberals from Musk cause he wants the population to be more trusting of conservative then of the liberals.

Yes CBC has a issues but it is surprisingly good for informational stuff. the main reason it got tagged (correctly) as state affiliated media was Pierre poilievre like sent a letter to twitter to complain about cbc in his long running effort to get rid of one of the few occasionally centre left major media networks in Canada by defunding our public broadcaster.
TL;DR I’m a cbc simp despite them being deeply flawed institutions bc it’s not directly controlled by corporate interests, just indirectly through the state
I was surprised it was only 70% government owned, I always assumed it's fully state-run

Sigh. I had a feeling that was the case. It often is the case with those subjects even if meming pokes fun at the squabbling in general. I think it's because it's just silly enough with the shitposting that I can get some laughs. I haven't every single video, and haven't watched in about 6 months so I don't even recall what may have been egregious.

Deprogram crew, a thing you might find hilarious about RNZ is that it was made directly by the state, same with TVNZ which was a merger with two different state channels. They are literally state media like the BBC with paper thin independence protocols etc.
They are all in a huff when they are literally government owned, RNZ is almost wholly government funded, TVNZ is commercial and funded by the government, and we all know that even if they were fully independent they wouldn't be there if they believed differently.
I'll take it over Murdoch media and Fox etc being the main news source but they really like to pretend they aren't owned by the government which is self serving.
