- EA WRC 2023 might be starting to show some red flags, but are they really something to worry about? Find out in this video.
They did Ditch the Dirt from the Games title and while that may be something to worry about there are way worse things I have found in my analysis.

The only red flag is the price , only £45 on preorder.
As for the looks , RBR is basic to say the least yet is by far one of the best rally games ever.
Cant wait for this.

@@thomasvleminckx You don't find it peculiar that a major publisher releases a AAA game at £45? The point I am making is that it makes you wonder what dlc/season pass is in the pipeline .
No wonder loot boxes etc exist when people don't question the price of games and add-ons .
I honestly hope this game does not flop. I definitely prefer the color palette for Dirt Rally 2.0. The color on this looks a bit washed out
It would be great to have a new amazing rally game where you can build your own car, but only thing we have right now is hope and a wanna be epic reveal trailer
@@FortySeventhGear WRC 2023 does allow you to build your own car. This has already been revealed.

Yeah, it's running on UE5 now, instead of EGO. Dirt games have been running on EGO since 2007. EA/Codemasters are official Epic/Unreal Engine 5 launch partners, and WRC 2023 is a launch game for the new engine. We've known this for well over a year now.
This is not Dirt Rally 3.0
This is a WRC game by EA.
Hopefully while EA STICKER is on the box.
The dirt gold is hiding underneath.
EA is publishing, the developer is still Codemasters. Same studio, same location, same people
Been a huge fan of the Colin McRae games then later the dirt franchise. I'm very nervous about this next game. The Dirt games where way up there for me as favourite rally games of all time. I pray EA doesn't kill that for me 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I grew up on Collin Mcrae Rally (PS1) the series truly has a long legacy

the only redflags that ive gotten is the inital in-game purchases and the pre order bonuses that are being shown. Its a reveal trailer so hopefully a gameplay trailer is just around the corner. on a side note im happy they showed off classic rally cars as the F1 games have lacked historic cars since f1 2020. knowing codies/ea im sure plenty of cars/areas will be made as DLC which im fine with aslong as its not a live service model of some kind.
Well if they will put recycled rally cars from previous titles behind a paywall I would definitely consider comparing it to a payday trailer.
@@FortySeventhGear that is a fair point but it depends on vehicle licencing, yes it might seem like "recycled content" but unfortunatly certain car manufacturers are funky with being put in games on day one. for example there are a number of cars that were found in GT7 code that has yet to be added or has been added as DLC at a later date due to licencing issues.
This was a massive win for me aswell dirt always had a good car list
Genuinely - go watch Dirt 2.0 trailers... The graphics look as good, if not better in places, and that was 2019 on LAST GEN consoles!
Main reason the things like grass don’t look like dirt is due to code master switching from their own ego engine to unreal engine 5
All the EA fearmongering just seems uncalled for IMO. There’s plenty of things I’m cynical or disappointed about (particularly class structure of vintage classes and I want to know how the SP part will work) but just the EA logo isn’t responsible for the pre order incentives or other bits and bobs; Dirt 4 and 5 and DR2 had the daft ‘early access’ and fragmented DLC approach.
I agree that the dlc structure for dirt 2 was terrible. I'm very sceptical about EA being anywhere near this

They had less than a year to develop.
It is not the Ego Engine but Unreal Engine.
The release date is locked down to the day after 1 year from WRC Generations.
No sign of Codemasters logo on promotional material.
Yearly title.
No damage model being shown which signals to poor damage model like previous WRC titles on the same engine.
I still hope it's gonna be good. But EA is not known to deliver good products. And let's be honest dirt Rally has always had the best car quality of all rally games interior,sounds.... The only thing missing is the cockpit being clickable,😁😁😁
but that would drive the prices too high. I would be fine with flaming cliffs car quality. If you catch my drift,,,🔥🔥
There have been no "previous WRC titles" on UE5.
@@FortySeventhGear I totally got what you mean :D ! Maybe I was a bit harsh on 'only one year of development' because they could of began before the rights were settled for EA. But yeah, I just wish for a barely decent physics and a punishing damage model to get the survival aspect of rally. Previous WRC, you can bounce off walls without punishment.
I guess DR2.0 was kind of 'Flaming Cliffs level'. Fun and easy to pick up. That was a very good mix with room for improvements on the suspension physics. Idk if this WRC 23 will make that improvement while keeping the damage model.
Expecting nothing above Kyloton WRCs...

The Game doesn't look like a Codemasters Game looks exactly like KT Generations with Bad textures horrible physics.. i'm worried that we wait 3 year for another WRC from Kyloton but rebranded has EA microtransactions totally sucks.. i really doubtful that this game look capable to surpase even DR 2.0
Yes, it does look like the Kylotonn product, but I still hope that the physics are going to be fine.

this is crap. i bet the physics will be as arcade as usal with this games...definitely not worth the money they ask. rbr-pro and beamng are much better choices for a rally simulation.
Beamng is not there yet but future is bright and RBR pro really the dirty bastard's who steal content. But rbr Hungarian plugin for example is a good choice but still DiRT Always presented very immersive experience and let's be honest Rbr itself is not always the most realistic you need to really find the quality stages and cars.
I wouldn't say the answer is objectively clear.
What about detail damages in game?
I knew as soon as soon as codemasters sold out to EA they made a massive mistake. Any development team willing to sell out to EA does not care anymore about their game, how enjoyable it is to their fan base, or anything else but money at that point. It’s sad but true. Greed followed by extreme low quality and just outright trash product is the new norm. Codemasters should’ve retired their name and went out on a high note. Now they’re going to end up just like DICE, Madden, NHL, UFC and any other dev team who has their games published by EA. They have been the worst “AAA” game publishers/developers for years now, it’s a legit statistical fact, yet because they have so much money they can make offers to smaller studios that they literally can’t refuse. They don’t care cause they will make it back. But if there’s any devs out there who actually care about the gaming community and quality games, you can’t sell out to EA unless the greed has gotten to you too.
Edit: I’ll correct myself before thousands of others do it for me.. I know NHL and madden have always been made by EA after they purchased those licenses (aside from when 2K used to be able to make those games too) so they’re not the same as Dice or codemasters I guess, but you know what I mean. EA also owns Bethesda don’t they? Or was that Microsoft?
37$ for pre order is not bad consider f1 costs more
And you cant expect too much cause the game is made from scratch

Be a bit optimistic. F1 23 didn't turn out badly..
Handling wise F1 23 is better than before, but still has that "slowly sliding out with no feedback in long corners" thing. The visuals are knackered, TAA mainly at fault for that since they fixed render resolutions, and there's things like FFB sometimes deciding to not work until you do some wonky shit to get it to run again, online connectivity, and the AI still hasn't changed since what 2014?
