Bought generations because of good discount actually superb game on ps5, its really hard but im getting better, suggest for people who just like play some racing games
The audio in EA's WRC is better, but the environment detail and contrast in KT Racing's WRC Generations is much better. KT Racing's WRC environmental design is second to none. CodeMaster's environmental design has been very bland and boring since after DiRT 1.
Can't believe i'm saying this but i think Generations is better. I expected a LOT more from Codemasters but maybe i shouldn't have. The sad thing is that WRC9 is better than Generations so i guess we're still stuck with that.
I like the tracks and physics in generatioms better than dr2 but generations is overall a mess. you can ignore the clutch pedal and the car still works

It's amazing how many different opinions there are about not just this but other games. So many variables these days, the platform you play on but more so the quality of the tv or monitor and size you use. Things were much simpler and in some ways more fun when we played on crt tv. Zero imput lag and generally speaking you gor the same visual experience. I say just enjoy the games for what they have to offer as a perfecy game doesn't and will never exist.
Please tell me what you think. Codemasters seems to design a heavier feeling car with less oversteer. Dirt 2.0 was amazing, but the cars definitely feel heavier with slightly less traction and less aggresive handling. Part of why that worked was because the stages were designed with divets (what would come from driver degredation) that you could sort of rollercoaster your car into and it would glide through the corner. The crests were more prominent and being on the correct side of a turn would guide your car in the direction you needed naturally. Compare this to WRC 10 or Generations where your car has higher traction on gravel, with an appropriate amount of slip. This feels more accurate to me because if you watch a lot of WRC, these guys can hoon their car completely sideways at 100 MPH and still have the traction and angle they need with maximum throttle. Ken Block's driving style and preference for shorter wheel base cars is a good example of the capabilities of modern WRC. The Toyota Yaris in 10/Generations had so much downforce and oversteer you could correct midcorner on gravel without major punishment. The Yaris on EA WRC Championship feels slightly less than capable, besides the extra horse power from the hybrid system. Braking also feels a little underpowered gravel on the current WRC. Tarmac traction is too skittish as well. Thoughts?
Does anyone else think the co-pilot (male) in EA WRC sounds very flat with no emotion in his voice, ie: just the same boring tone as if he’s reading the news. I thought the co-pilot in WRC Generations was a bit like a robot but now listening to the 2 titles side by side the Generations co-pilot sounds good in comparison. Phil Mills for Dirt Rally 2.0 was outstanding so in this department of the game EA WRC has taken a massive step backwards in my opinion.

I've been waiting for a Codemasters WRC game since literally 2000, and now that it's finally here, I can hardly express how disappointed I am with what I'm seeing. Everything looks so mid. The graphics (bloom like it's 2007), the physics (same old central point of rotation nonsense), the codriver (sounds like a robot compared to Phil Mills in DR 2.0)... If they'd just made "Dirt Rally 2.0 with the WRC license", I would have been happy. But no, it's... this. Was it the switch away from Ego to UE4? Or is it the "EA effect"?
I read so many of your type of comments and it's all just crazy nonsense. The game is super good, really fun and looks great when you tweak the graphics right.
It was a game of poor quality that was unexpected from EA Games. Physics looks terrible. The vehicle's center of gravity and center of rotation do not change at all depending on speed. In real life, no vehicle turns corners like this. The rear flexes and loses grip after pushing it to the limit and you need to feel it in the steering wheel.
I always enjoyed the stages in the KT WRC games, but I'm sooo looking forward to improved FFB on my Thrustmaster TX. And maybe I won't have to unplug my wheel and plug it back in again every friggin' time I want to play the game.
Strange thing to me is all the modern race games seem to have these blurry graphics. I think it looks awful. You saw it in ACC, Forza motorsport has this problem and now you see it in wrc 2023. I like the crisper look Kyloton went for far better. But it's all personal in the end.
It's not blurry but you need to tweak settings correctly. Motion blur off, AA on epic, DLSS on quality and not the others since that greatly affect clarity. Up the sharpness to 0.8, anisotropic filtering to 16x, a lot of the other settings after that can be medium and the game still looks good. Anti-aliasing is the most important setting in this game since it affect the trees and bushes a lot. Lower it and you get a lot of flicker and bad looking bushes/trees.
Funny, since EA WRC looks more like a boat on tarmac than Generations does. And on loose surfaces, Generations looks much better. EA WRC has no suspension feeling on the bumpy parts and has too high grip levels, as per usual with Dirt Rally games.
You can see right away how superior is Generations, stages are more realistic.. roads have different width, Walls and any sort of Real life Details, particles ecc ecc.. For example, you can even use certain type of bushes ( if you know them) to slow down and gain some milliseconds in the process : Maniac!
EA Sports WRC has more realistic stages. Real life stages are actually quite monotonous and lifeless. WRC Generations stages are fun to drive but they also are unrealistically picturesque. There is no real rally stage in Sweden or Greece with so many landmarks and so often surface changes as Ortrask or Mendentisa stages in that game. In games I prefer WRC Generations approach but it's simply wrong to call it more realistic.

Kyloton have got an amazing moto game in Isle of Man 3 ....had some ok WRC....But I am selling generations and will be keeping EA Sports 😂...If the licensing is fixed next year ( Toyota and more destinations) content is in the WRC 24 well it will be a far superior game than This year's...and Generations will be forgotten

There are some sources how Codemasters can't implement better handling and they use very false tricky methods that are not comparable to real physics. RBR even with mods created in home by a couple persons are far way superior than millions of dollars wasted already in the WRC 23 rally parody game.
The main thing I always preferred from codemasters rally games was the more dynamic camera. The WRC games always felt boring because of the stiff camera that didn't react to motion shifts. now Codemasters WRC game looks the same. :/ oh well, I'll be passing on it. I don't want to fall asleep while racing down the backroads in argentina. :P

EA Sports, it's in the game...That use to be the good old day for EA. Personally I think WRC Generation has better shading giving it more depth in the environment. Not crazy about the Dirt art style it looks muddy, no pun intended, if that makes sense. I can see some of the arcade still rubs off like some of their previous racing titles, or should I say all their racing titles are more copy paste then innovation. Anywho I really do hope they can improve on WRC as I really do love that franchise and not turn it into yet another arcade game. Holding thumbs for a good one.
I've always disliked how the colors in the Codemasters games look like an arcade style game, when the other games have much better color and shading. And their physics model is very arcade style too, with the central pivot point of the cars. It's too bad that it doesn't seem like they fixed either of those things for this game, though they both might be slightly improved. And I think that WRC Generations did a better implementation of the hybrid system than EA. Their way is much more like how it works in real life. I wonder why EA just didn't copy that instead of coming up with something unrealistic.

WRC Generations in terms of tarmac physics and gravel despite some throttle issues yes it's much more realistic than WRC 23 rally parody game. For me WRC 23 looks good but not enough to be a true rally game and I'll say EA Sports aka Codemasters they released a funny arcade rally game under too big hype but this is EA strategy and Codemasters even in DR2.0 implemented very poor tarmac handling.
Wrc23 will finally show how good Generations was and is… they put a shaft in the middlemof the car and there is where the rotation exist no matter how fast you are going. I am totally disappointed…

Dr2 is popular because it's more arcady. It's even what people are calling for in their discord forums. Generations had some shortcomings but was by far a better title.
All we need is the looks and sounds of DR2 with the steering, physics and handling of generations and then you'd be sorted. Sadly from what I can tell EA's WRC is getting the same dodgy steering as DR2.

I was expecting something really beyond WRC gen ……but seriously, disappointed, graphically speaking… the only thing I see a plus are the classic cars that will be included and the official courses modeling on game … besides , basically the same same … let’s see how the physics will work out , the cockpit cam are terrible ! like Forza , the camera are fixed ! no vibration, no movement left or right … for a rally a game , that have high speed in a tuff terrain …the cockpit view looks like you are flying a spaceship and not a car with tires on the ground … GT7 cockpit feels closer to a real view inside the cockpit… rally games should have some more vibrant camera view 😢

Eh, not sure I agree. I like the KT games, but they kept rereleasing the same game every year without even fixing bugs that came all the way from WRC 8. They even managed to make the handling worse in generations than it was in WRC 10.

I've been playing the new EA wrc, the only thing it has over generations so far is the platinum is way easier and the only mild grind will be 1000 miles 😄 Plus, I prefer using the bonnet or bumper cam, luckily its possible in this new one, dirt rally 2 felt odd and had to use chase cam.

Once again, it sucks for those it didn't work for but for me it worked perfectly and I think it's the better game. I understand how the throttle ruined it for a ton of people

Finally, the wishes of all rally fans have been heard and Codemasters FINALLY has the license. Enough of the horror Kylotoon showed from WRC 5 to WRC Generation. Every year the same horror. The physics and behavior of the car on all surfaces are the same, the car floats and behaves as if it were riding on a cushion of air, and the worst part of it all are the sounds of the cars. Gen is a terrible game. It's like driving through peanut butter coated ice. The asphalt was OK, but imo wrc 9 was the best they had. Remember, codemasters started all of it. It's theirs again, and with EA backing, probably theirs for good
wrc generations have perfect graphics and details of locations , houses , trees , flowers and etc . very good UI and the perfect system for online competitive games with points , groups, card player with all stats . EA WRC is just pure joke. I expected alot more from it. The handling is much more realistic in Generations, i actually do like the graphics more on Generations also. EA got too much of downforce and it just feels too ”easy” to handle. But when playing KT’s WRC it feels much more realistic as you cant just push all the corners in 120kmh. I’d rather to stick with Dirt Rally 2.0 and Generations🫤

Probably both. I'm deeply sus on any racing game that uses UE. ACC took SO much to get it up to snuff. You'd think that would be a warning.

Kyloton have got an amazing moto game in Isle of Man 3 ....had some ok WRC....But I am selling generations and will be keeping EA Sports 😂...If the licensing is fixed next year ( Toyota and more destinations) content is in the WRC 24 well it will be a far superior game than This year's...and Generations will be forgotten
Physics better on Generations? lol you are delusional! Those floating physics are horrible! EA sports WRC feels grounded. Generations feels like the car is flying and gliding.
@@NickI-n4eWRC 23 is far way behind true rally car handling. There are some sources how Codemasters can't implement better handling and they use very false tricky methods that are not comparable to real physics. RBR even with mods created in home by a couple persons are far way superior than millions of dollars wasted already in the WRC 23 rally parody game.

The main thing I always preferred from codemasters rally games was the more dynamic camera. The WRC games always felt boring because of the stiff camera that didn't react to motion shifts. now Codemasters WRC game looks the same. :/ oh well, I'll be passing on it. I don't want to fall asleep while racing down the backroads in argentina. :P
Well that could be because they've only shown the new rally cars which have god tier suspension. Who wants to drive those anyway

Exactly, the driver's head is welded to the seat 😉 it's a pity that they forgot about such an important aspect that gives greater immersion in the feeling of the car's speed. something like GT7 or ACC would be useful.

EA Sports, it's in the game...That use to be the good old day for EA. Personally I think WRC Generation has better shading giving it more depth in the environment. Not crazy about the Dirt art style it looks muddy, no pun intended, if that makes sense.
I can see some of the arcade still rubs off like some of their previous racing titles, or should I say all their racing titles are more copy paste then innovation. Anywho I really do hope they can improve on WRC as I really do love that franchise and not turn it into yet another arcade game. Holding thumbs for a good one.
I've always disliked how the colors in the Codemasters games look like an arcade style game, when the other games have much better color and shading. And their physics model is very arcade style too, with the central pivot point of the cars. It's too bad that it doesn't seem like they fixed either of those things for this game, though they both might be slightly improved.
And I think that WRC Generations did a better implementation of the hybrid system than EA. Their way is much more like how it works in real life. I wonder why EA just didn't copy that instead of coming up with something unrealistic.
wrc generations is far better in detailed stages graphics and certainley far better physics than dirt rally 2.0 im just hoping ea wrc will be ust as good but i dont think it will graphics look too arcadey so does the handling im having a blast with wrc gen !!

WRC Generations in terms of tarmac physics and gravel despite some throttle issues yes it's much more realistic than WRC 23 rally parody game. For me WRC 23 looks good but not enough to be a true rally game and I'll say EA Sports aka Codemasters they released a funny arcade rally game under too big hype but this is EA strategy and Codemasters even in DR2.0 implemented very poor tarmac handling.
God the sound in generations is horrible. Good thing codemasters got the WRC license

Dr2 is popular because it's more arcady. It's even what people are calling for in their discord forums.
Generations had some shortcomings but was by far a better title.

I was expecting something really beyond WRC gen ……but seriously, disappointed, graphically speaking… the only thing I see a plus are the classic cars that will be included and the official courses modeling on game … besides , basically the same same … let’s see how the physics will work out , the cockpit cam are terrible ! like Forza , the camera are fixed ! no vibration, no movement left or right … for a rally a game , that have high speed in a tuff terrain …the cockpit view looks like you are flying a spaceship and not a car with tires on the ground … GT7 cockpit feels closer to a real view inside the cockpit… rally games should have some more vibrant camera view 😢

Why the hell the drivers head looks like glued to the seat? No shake, no even a tiny bit of shake neither in Generation, nor Codemasters. It kills immersion. Aah what a trash games we getting nowadays...

Eh, not sure I agree. I like the KT games, but they kept rereleasing the same game every year without even fixing bugs that came all the way from WRC 8. They even managed to make the handling worse in generations than it was in WRC 10.

All racing games cars sound like a choking vacum cleaner. guess there is still no good way to record or translate it well to a game.
I've been playing the new EA wrc, the only thing it has over generations so far is the platinum is way easier and the only mild grind will be 1000 miles 😄 Plus, I prefer using the bonnet or bumper cam, luckily its possible in this new one, dirt rally 2 felt odd and had to use chase cam.

@@sportschool3537 I have zero issues with either throttle or brake. It was a bug not a design choice. Yes it sucks that people experienced it but for those of use who don't have issues with it, it's as solid as can be
@@robertrossi9364 Dude, even after they "fixed it" all they did was make the throttle input start from 50%... and until 95% it doesn't even give you any speed... you literally need to floor the throttle to move forward...

@@sportschool3537 I hear what you're saying but I never had any issues with the throttle. Gens worked perfectly for me since day one and I have 300 hrs in. Once again, it sucks for those it didn't work for but for me it worked perfectly and I think it's the better game. I understand how the throttle ruined it for a ton of people
@@sportschool3537I didn’t have these issues either. Must have been a small number of people that were affected, perhaps with a specific racing wheel setup. WRC Generations is great and EA WRC will have to prove a lot before I change to that game. The graphics look inferior in comparison right now.
The old WRC games were so traumatizing that I have PTSD. Hopefully the new one won't feel like driving 10 ton rectangles with your whole body numbed by lidocaine

Finally, the wishes of all rally fans have been heard and Codemasters FINALLY has the license. Enough of the horror Kylotoon showed from WRC 5 to WRC Generation. Every year the same horror. The physics and behavior of the car on all surfaces are the same, the car floats and behaves as if it were riding on a cushion of air, and the worst part of it all are the sounds of the cars. Thank God the studio has a license that can really do Rally ❗❗❗ 🙏

Gen is a terrible game. It's like driving through peanut butter coated ice. The asphalt was OK, but imo wrc 9 was the best they had. Remember, codemasters started all of it. It's theirs again, and with EA backing, probably theirs for good
wrc generations have perfect graphics and details of locations , houses , trees , flowers and etc . very good UI and the perfect system for online competitive games with points , groups, card player with all stats . The graphics of ea wrc is like ten years old game , with very ugly UI , no groups , no card player , no ratings , just play (race) every day with all rating players and with no reason ,purpose , and this is very bad , very far away from the reality.
Dirt rally and Dirt Rally 2.0 is good games but the ea wrc is very bad game.

WRC Generations is a shit show in every way possible. Crappy handling, graphics, sounds, car models. It's all trash. So happy we're getting a proper, next generation rally game. Been waiting years for this.
EA WRC is just pure joke. I expected alot more from it. The handling is much more realistic in Generations, i actually do like the graphics more on Generations also. EA got too much of downforce and it just feels too ”easy” to handle. But when playing KT’s WRC it feels much more realistic as you cant just push all the corners in 120kmh. I’d rather to stick with Dirt Rally 2.0 and Generations🫤
