    You should let your barrel cool down after the first 3 shots

    I use S&B in my 6.5 creedmoor ATA Turqua rifle. These are coming out in 2023 as a Savage 334. Superb budget rifle. Holy crap is it accurate. Rifle loves it. Deer hate it. Superb hunting ammo. As some of us know 6.5 creedmoor hunting can be a problem for fragmentation. These lead SP's work really really well for holding their weight.

    Similar dispersion I experienced with these loads. Regardless of barrel cooling .. it’s consistent. 140 SP from SB is the better bullet/load for cheap off the shelf with them.

    Hornady 147 eld. Best ammo for 6.5 bergara ridgeback.

    I was getting super bad groups with my m1a loaded precision 6.5, lots of flyers shootign all over

      Yeah I don't know, I thought 6.5 cm was a good shootin, grouping gun so I got one, and I've put a bunch of different factory loads through it and I average about a 1.5 to 2" groups at best. But I just picked up a box of Hornady ELD-X give that a try.

    Are you saying that is accurate at 100 yards???

    • @boltactionballistics
      @boltactionballistics  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These 140gr are the best grouping factory ammo I've found for this gun so far, every thing else that I've shoot averages about like the 131gr... The Norma white tail 140 gr don't shoot good at all.

      @jcows12 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's unfortunate because my howa 1500 will put the 156 grain bullets touching at 100yards. It must be the rifle if everything is 2" groups.

      @@jcows12agree with this. It’s not the ammo causing 1.5-2 MOA. My Tact A1 will shoot sub MOA with the cheapest federal 140gr. Match is 0.3 with a good 5 round group.

    I have been watching a lot of 6.5 creedmoor "accuracy" videos and so far NONE comes close to the old Carl Gustav sporterized military rifle in 6.5x55 I had shooting 140 gr Remington core lokt. With it's 1:7.5 twist my 3 shot groups could be covered by a dime... I'd take the Swede over the Creed anyday.

      Yeah im not sure what to think of the 6.5 creedmoor, my gun doesn't shoot factory ammo the Best, i have a box of Remington core lokt i haven't tried yet,,
      But right now im shooting handloads with H4350 powder,, 140gr sst about 3/4" groups is where im at right now..

    I usually like 5 shot groups for a more statistically accurate result. But the first 3-shot groups were respectable.
    By the way, the 6.5 really shines brightly at very long range shots > 500 yds. in energy retention. Also the 6.5 is an accurate round .

    Throw the ammo in garbage, buy Federal cheapest 140 Grains as it gives you best group within a dime at 100yards. 😂

      I can't find any available, Hornady 129gr and Norma white tail 140gr is available but it don't group good either

      From Australia, I have a Howa 1500 precision in 6.5 CM in an MDT Oryx chassis with a 26 inch barrel. 2 days ago shot 3 different types of S&B ammo (FMJ, Match and soft point) plus Hornady custom 142gn in SP.. All shot 1/4 moa on centre bull at 102 metres. Just one ragged hole. The SB ammo is the cheapest at around $A40 a box and Hornady medium priced here at around $A65 a box. The SB are very consistent in my rifle and I'd be happy to use them in comps. Suggest that you use your right hand to stabilise the rifle behind the action. The position may cause you to jerk the trigger because of non central alignment behind the rifle.

      Hey mate, are you using that in prs? I'm looking at the same gun to get started in the sport. I assume you got the package with the muzzle brake etc. Would you recommend it?@@terrylennard3536
