Here's a quick and simple instructional for how to remove the NC Miata door cards. Whether its speakers, door handle issues, or new cards - it's a simple and quick process to remove.
NC Miata 101 is a basic log and resource of common questions I've found on Facebook groups and forums, in the video medium.

NOW THIS is how EVERY "how to" video should be made, well done sir thank you for no bs, no filler, just what the title says!
Any time I'm taking on a project on my NC, I stop by this channel first. Too rate stuff!
Probably the most useful series on youtube
Thanks! I'm trying to think of specific things I've seen people ask about the NC. Not including maintenence like brakes or things like that. Glad you like it.
My new favorite Channel. 2012 GT PRHT we even have the same color! Still going through previos videos.
Thanks so much for checking it out! Glad you're enjoying the videos.
Ive watched soooo many of your videos and currently have a 2.5L in my NC as well. Now my gosh darn door handle stopped working so this video is a life saver
1:22 was a B**** to slide out. You made it look easy.
Thanks for the video, subscribed.
Terrific instructional video. Thank you!
Glad you find it helpful!
Thank you! Couldn't find the third screw under the door pull cover
Thanks for the info, it was the handle cover I just could not figure out without breaking it , good job.
Thank you! This is excellent. Super helpful. God bless!
thank you. this was exactly the info I needed.
Hi dude. My MX5 (2012 model) has what I think are some annoying interior rattles when driving on roads that aren’t perfectly smooth. They’re plastic sounding noises, rather than mechanical. One is around the passenger door/glove box area, another seems to be around the stereo (but buried deep in the dash) and the last is around the steering wheel. I was wondering if you have any pointers as to where I can start to resolve them?
EXCELLENT GUIDE! Well done! All the best, Rob
Thanks rob!
the fitment of your wheels looks really nice, what are the sizes and offsets of the wheel and tyre size please
many thanks
Thanks - looks like I can now add some decent speakers in my doors! I thought they were 6x8's in my 2013 Club
Is it the same procedure if your Miata is another color? ... ;-)
Seriously: PRICELESS information. With this I can now replace my side mirror that a stupid bird decided to fly against myself. Probably saves me at least $100 in shop labor!
I was literally looking for this today! Just bought some leather seats w/ door cards to install. Any idea if you can separate the leather trim from the card?
Not sure on that one, I would assume yes
I noticed you have an empty container on the black cover. Is your NC sound system a non-Bose unit?
Yeah, no Bose.
@@ColoredinLight I see. I just changed my head unit to the Pioneer SPH-C10BT and I'm planning to do a full BOSEctomy on my NC1 by the end of the year.
I hear a lot of people remove the Bose units, I'm kinda glad I dont have one. Qs long as my radio has bluetooth I'm happy. I cant really hear music over the exhaust and top down anyways
Good video but i damaged the large door handle with using the screwdriver + towel. I didn't know i had to pry from exactly the center of the handle as there is a notch inside. If you don't you will rip and damage the plastic, which will be visible.
Dang that sucks
The only thing I would add is a link to replacement clips, I broke several when I removed mine.
thank you for this video.
very helpfull indeed.
Thank you very much for the information
hopefully I can adjust my window with this
Excellent instructions! Any idea on the weight of the panel?
It wasnt very heavy at all, for sure less than 10lbs.
@@ColoredinLight It all adds up! I'm trying to get my miata down to 2300 lbs (dry weight without driver) and my hp to 170 so I can compete in TT5 with NASA but it's gonna be a challenge. Hell getting another 20 hp after I've already got a bunch of bolt-ons might be impossible.
@@TheTurbineEngineer 2.5 swap!
@@ColoredinLight That would definitely get me there! Guess it's time to start saving up lol.
Easy when you know, thanks!
Slightly careful with this if you are an Early NC owner. I have an 07 and the door handle screw panel has to be pried off differently. Other then that, awesome video!
I'm in the same boat, can't figure out how to pry this thing off. Maybe from the top first? Difficult to do without damaging the panel.
What year is your car because mine looks slightly different.
Do I need to disconnect the battery first?
No
are those 6x9 speakers?
Not sure, whatever oem is!
my 2007 has different door pulls.
Yeah NC1 and 2/3 are different designs but generally removed the same.
Can you do one on the brakes
See my brake video. I linked to one in the desc.
Colored in Light thanks
Thanks
now what do i have to do to get rid of that nasty door rattle? :)
Poly door bushings
Can you show how to remove the carpet? 😅
I have a 2006 Miata and my door panels look significantly different. I’m a little confused if I’m honest.
The only significant difference you should see between NC1 and NC2 is the cup holders. Other than that they're not much different.
@@ColoredinLight I realized that this morning when I left for work lol. Thank you for the reply.
I tried to remove the door handle and now is broken :(
