- MovieJunk is honored to welcome the return of Acting Legend John Ashton to our show; just in time as we are expecting Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley to release early next year.
John Ashton brings nearly 60 years of combined film, television, and theater artistry. John is notable for his performances as "Taggart" from the first two Beverly Hills Cop films and as the Bounty Hunter "Marvin" in Midnight Run.

Judge Reinhold as Lt. William "Billy" Rosewood

Paul Reiser as Det. Jeffrey Friedman and Bronson Pinchot as Serge
and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer from "Top Gun: Maverick, Bad Boys, Pirates of the Caribbean"
Taylour Paige joins the cast as Jane, "Axel's Daughter, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Det. Bobby Abbott, and Kevin Bacon, as Captain Grant.
John also shares his latest projects in Lonesome Soldier which is available in selected theaters and All Happy Families which reunites him with Director Haroula Rose from "Once Upon a River" which is on the festival circuit and will be released soon.

Honestly, he is a big part of why Beverly Hills Cop 3 is my least favourite. Stunned in the happiest way to see him back for this one. Fantastic interview, thank you so much for sharing.
I can't thank you enough for your support. I really liked the actor that filled in, but obviously its different with Taggart. I think Taggart would have been hilarious running around Wonder World.

Cautiously optimistic. Hollywood does this all the time Ala Halloween, Lethal Weapon, etc. Dudes are in 60s & 70s now! Egad! As long as the movie can stand on its own two feet and not just ride on the nostalgia wave like usual. I’m hopeful. Still would’ve rather seen it in a theater but it is what it is.
I am really hoping that it can at least get a limited release in theaters. I think it needs an "X" amount of time for theater run in order to be qualified for Awards. Hopefully they announce closer to the release.
John, so glad you came back to do this but I'm still VERY partial to your performance in midnight run, that was an incredible film and you made it great! thanks!!

@@moviejunkpodcast Word. I almost sh!t my pants during the last scene of the trailer. I saw the 2nd film at gunrise(Sunrise) theater when I was 8. That was 4 years before they installed the metal detectors. I made the initial comment btw but I share that account with a friend so I signed out. Great interview👌

I have the same fears. It’ll probably be another nostalgic cash-in so he can buy his meds. I hate to sound harsh, but it ain’t 1984 anymore. Sometimes you just can’t go home again. He’s 75! And it’s a Netflix stream! Another nail in the coffin. Hollywood is so greedy to cash in on brand names. Bunch of vipers. Though honestly I’ll probably end up watching because of sheer curiosity. The bar isn’t set very high for this one. Minimal expectations!
