    I found an OEM spoiler a week ago. I also have an 88 S auto. Mines still an auto though. The spoiler is for a 90-91 but it mounted up very nice.
    I found 2 fog lights, the switch, and a relay for it. I can't wait to wire those in. I saw your video that you wired in your fog lights, and tried to rework the wires so your fogs would turn on without the popups. I'll do that as well. However, I did find another video from prelude3g and he ended up splicing into the sunroof wire (I believe I'm correct) to have his fogs work , even with the high beams on.
    I also managed to get my hands on a shifter cable so I can replace mine and have it go into Park.
    Point is, parts are still manageable to get. The overall amount is unknown and shrinking, but parts are out there... But I find no deals while searching. I pay asking price (for most transactions) to get these parts because I may never find them again.
    Good luck to all who start a prelude journey. And thanks to those who did the heavy lifting already. Great community.

      Man this is my favorite comment. Solid work brother👊🏼. Everything you said is so true, especially about being prepared to pay asking prices. It’s just the way it is now. Happy wrenching friend 🙏🏼

    Hey, 2nd gen owner here. One thing that was a huge lifesaver for me is buying a used OEM service manual. Make sure to get the book that is black and not the aftermarket ones!! The books are seriously really detailed and has helped me diagnose so many problems and help take apart my car.. especially all those vacuum lines. I recommend it, it helped me save a lot of money and pain. Still painful, but less.

    • @kalebbruhshaw9802

      That service manual helps so much, I’ve got a 2nd gen too. Been doing tons of work w tons of extra parts. Mind swapping imstgram handles or fb?

      I just recently got a 2nd gen as my first car, came with all the original paper work and booklets from the dealer, but we can't get the engine stay running for more than a few seconds. It's dual carbureted. Me and my dad just bought a D16y7 with a 5 speed manual and everything needed to do the swap, I can't wait until its done so I can finally have my own car. But I also can't wait till we can actually start working on it, because although I can already tell its going to be a headache, its going to be a fun experience.

    Nice vid Connor, always love the 3rd gen content as we are a rare breed! I was the one who sent you the shifter a couple years ago which you did a really cool vid on cleaning it up and installing! Glad you have some plans on fixing it up! Hope some day you can swap out that carbureted engine to a B series or H/F series.

    The prelude was my first car, but it was at a time where parts weren't a problem. In 2001 you could still get most of what you needed from the dealer, and if not there were at least 2 at the junk yard at all times. Today? Not so much. Today it's a terrible first car if you don't know how to wrench because it's hard to work on and there's no aftermarket. It WILL make you a better mechanic, but you're going to end up owning at least 2 cars.

    My 3rd gen has a lot of body rust. I'm worried about how long it will last but I figure every day on the road is better than the junkyard. I have the 2.0SI and have found it to be incredibly reliable. This is my first car and it has taught me how to work on cars. My power steering also leaks along with coolant lol. Still keeps going Honda strong

    Great video Connor! My grandfather has an 88 Prelude with close to 250 thousand miles on it and it has been sitting in a garage for about 10 years now. I love the car, but body has rust, likely needs a new engine, needs a whole lotta love. I have the potential to own it... is it worth my time and money?

    • @ConnorLee
      @ConnorLee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depending on the level of rust. Motors and trans can be swapped but if that chassis is beyond repair, maybe just keep it as a parts car and find a rust free (mostly) prelude. Swap the good parts over, save the rest for when needed🤘🏼

    Owned a prelude for about a year . Im a horrible DIY person, il give it a go but not for a long time . I can tell you parts are mad expensive and rare . Beggars cant be choosers basically . The distributor leaked oil, the suspension components dont really last . I dont know why and my engine drank oil . To be honest it was a horrible year to own a car . Funny thing is after i sold it i went back online to find another one . Weird. Thanks for the video . While i dont miss the torture and the wastage of cash, id do it again and this time for a much longer time . Thanks for the video .

  • @DeliriousMaxi
    @DeliriousMaxi ปีที่แล้ว +2

    man, I'm about to buy one. I'm on the Fence tho. it's been sitting for a year, it has some under paint rust on the corner of the wheel well. But only issue it has that is very major, would be that the transmission kicks out of 3rd gear, and it shifts very hard. going to get it for $850 plus a gaming laptop. do you think I should get it? 🥲 its a 1991 si 2.0

    • @DeliriousMaxi
      @DeliriousMaxi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      also the transmission is a auto. it definitely needs the shift solenoid replaced or cleaned, new radiator fans, wheels, brake pads / rotors, brake master cylinder (maybe), valve cover gasket, and a battery. all this stuff is rather easy and not as expensive. But I'm just worried about that transmission since I have no experience at all with transmissions or even anything involving pulling the motor out.

    • @ConnorLee
      @ConnorLee  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely a good buy! Screw fixing up the auto, perfect reason to 5spd swap it!

      @@ConnorLee See I would, but I'm on the fence. I don't have any hoists or anything to pull the engine out and replace it. It's kinda hard to do any actual fixing because I live in a HOA and they don't allow any type of fixing. I would have to do it at like Lowe's or a random parking lot lol

Had 179k on it when I bought it for 2500 bux and it's been my daily for 8 years with almost no money put into save for it's oil addiction. 🙃 Multiple times a year at stop lights or parking lots people constantly try to get me to sell it. Bone stock cept for rims and tires and stereo. Oh and remote locks. Ton of parts in the engine still have the factory yellow paint dots on them.

    I've got the same car in that same color 88 Honda prelude 2.0 stick the only problem I really had with this car is oil in the distributor and apparently it was a common thing with this motor. This car only has 151000 miles on the odometer. It was a fun car to drive until I had a fuel delivery problem replaced everything from the tank to the carburetors. The very last problem that caused me to stop driving it was it would drive for half hour and then shut off for half hour drive for 15 minutes and then shut off for a half hour drive for 5 minutes and then shut off for 30 minutes. I have heard rumors of different motors that pretty much shoehorned into this car from newer models I'm curious to figure out those. I'd love to get the car back on the road it's been sitting for the last 12 years. I've owned mine for 18 years

All the damage was on the drivers side quarter pannel) They have the photos for the process and all and re-aligned everything. Only major problems are its history, its mileage stopped working apparently and an extra DC header doesn't come with a flex pipe. This would be my first project car. Do you think its a good choice?
