Pretty sure I’d pick it over a Springfield if I was in the market, but to be honest - not crazy about that headlight on either of them (tassels can be removed lol). 🤣 Really smooth ride though, and I’m sure you’re happy with it! 👍
Thanks for an excellent video. Think you start thinking about something else initially when you said something in the direction of: The Headlight Nacelle / Headlight Cover is made of plastic. It is metal, fenders and almost everything is metal. The exception are the side covers under the seat. They are for practical reasons made from plastic. I walked into the Indian Dealer with one intention. Buy a Chieftain, but I ended up on a Springfield Dark Horse. Had the vintage been delivered with hard bags I think that model would have been my choice. But you never know. Could just as well have ended up on a Challenger. Anyway: I am very happy whit the 116 SDH.
Thanks for that! I actually meant to include a note saying it’s metal, but I completely forgot! I think because the paint is kinda granulated it just gives it a plasticky look to me. And I had previously watched someone else’s video about the bike and they mentioned the two plain screws on the top, and wondered why Indian wouldn’t have at least used color-matched screws, so now I always see them and they’re an eye-sore. Like the tank bolt on the challenger! 🤦♂️ But the thing I dislike the most about the headlight cover (I don’t know why I keep saying “nacelle”!) is that the driver side is just plain. It’s just a completely flat panel. No styling. No design. It just seems off to me, made all the more weird, because I think Indian’s styling is so amazing. 🤷♂️ I’m pretty sure I’d go with a Springfield myself. I’d want the slammed bags for sure. I’d just swap in the Chief’s beach bars and seat. I think that’s a big reason why I went with the Chieftain. To outfit a SDH the way I’d want it, I would have spent quite a bit. And the Chieftain was good right out of the box. It’s all a little fuzzy in my memory these days - I just see red Challenger when I think about past shopping. 😂😂😂 Glad you’re happy - they are all great bikes, and I’d be happy on any one of them myself! 👍
I've had my CV for 6 years now wouldn't change it for anything, just a pity you can't retro fit the rear cylinder deactivation system on the older models.
I like to old school look, that is why I chose the 21 Vintage.

I have owned my Darkhorse since 2018. Already have 21,000 miles on her and still riding daily.
Well done - a really really nice bike! 👍👍
Where you at in the DMV ?
The V part. 😂

nice bike great view where's that located
The Vintage test ride was at Twigg Indian in Hagerstown, MD.
I bought that large brake pedal. For my Chieftain DH. It’s a two piece unit. And expensive AF ( imported )
Really? Is the pedal a separate part from the stem? Wondering if I could take off the peg on my challenger and slap that brake pedal on! 👍
@@DMVSoloRider it's a one piece unit. With the rubber pad bolting up to it.

It’s a great ride! Honesty, I don’t think your missing much without rear cylinder deactivation. And you have that seat!! 😍
Could you talk about the seat a little?
It was so nice! So so nice! 😂😂😂
FRINGE NOT TASSELS
I see. You feel strongly about that, do you? 😂
