I know, and I’m not a hard leaner. But for that $ I still wanted the headlight to jump out of the bike and hold up those orange glow sticks they use at airports to gently guide me around not-very-sharp turns. 🤣
Those twisties in the dark are no joke! I don’t really ride at night and live out in the country now with all kinds of creatures on the night highways. I have been looking at the pathfinder light and driving lights as well.
Look elsewhere! For all my talk about “is it better, I can’t tell, will keep my eye on it” - if you don’t see a huge improvement as soon as you turn the light on, it’s not worthwhile. Really disappointed, and probably wouldn’t be comfy relying on it out in the countryside - there are enough critters during the day, so nighttime is a minefield! 🤣
Glad to see you putting out new videos again, it's been too long. Ridewithtwoindians did 2 videos on putting an adaptive headlight on his Springfield about 2 years ago. In the first he put it in and showed that it was basically good only for slow speed while making tight turns and getting a little wider spread on the road (though he raved about it). It took quite a bit of lean to make the adaptive part light up. The second video was about using an overpriced splitter that an individual was making. Ridewithtwoindians has now gotten a Challenger, and is adding accessories to it. It's worth a look.
👍 Won’t get back to any sort of “regular schedule,” but I need to get on the road more - lack of riding is bad for my health! lol I saw his video when I was looking at the light, but probably didn’t watch enough to see footage of how it actually works. Dummy me - I have an expensive bust. lol Good posts on IndianMotorcycles.net too for how to do the halo.
@DMVSoloRider I know what you're saying about not riding is bad for your health. I rode all winter with no problem. Here around Baton Rouge, it has been incredibly hot lately. Heat indexes over 110° have been enough to keep me in the A/C for a few weeks, and I'm hating it. I've been thinking seriously about removing the lowers. Hopefully, this heat will relent soon, or I'm going to head for the mountains. P.S. I was wondering if you have highway pegs on your Challenger? I'm leaning towards the Kuryakyn Longhorn, thinking that I can get enough adjustment to get the pegs or boards back to my short legs.
@@dennismims2999 I have Indian’s pegs. I needed the adjustability, and I liked the way they look. But honestly, I hardly ever use them. As a shorty, and with those huge floor boards, I can pretty much rest the back of my heels at the front of the boards and my leg is straight! 🤣 Be careful with that heat though. My last two trips down south (sc-ga-fl) it got to me both times, and it’s not like dc is cool/dry in the summer - plenty of days in the 90s with high humidity! But yes…you must head to the mountains immediately! Always head to the mountains! 🤣✌️
Just a fyi they make two different ones so check the product number they look identical the original one will throw a lot of codes and the flash of death it wasn’t ment for the challenger it was for the chieftain ,road master etc but that was back in 2020 the second one came out I believe in2021 or 22 works much better I will get the flash now only if I stall the bike and start it back without completely shutting it off
Well that’s great. lol I’m only getting codes if I turn the power for several minutes without starting the engine. But I think I’ll be in the market for a better light overall, so I’ll just have to deal with it. The search for a real torch begins! 🤣
When I took my bike in to get bars installed I think they did something to my jumper I installed and I have not yet pulled off the front again to check. It really threw major code but I cycled through them. I will probably have to buy another jumper for the halo.
Nope. Indian told me they strongly recommended against, because it was never engineered to work with the Challenger/might cause electrical problems. Then I traded the bike in, so…🤷♂️
Best for hard leans, I love mine. 90 deg turns in neighborhood. The more you lean the more leds light up.

Awesome seeing you back on the GW Parkway, man! I'm waving from the Tulane turn off :D
I see you brother! Hoping to get more regular ol’ rides up, so stay tuned!

We’re you getting codes or having issues when you had the halo on before that?

Time for the Braille Battery AGM. Or spend money for the lithium battery
Thanks for watching!✌️

Raze the beam up then try it.
I’ll do that and report back. 👍
I’m not seeing a $650 brightness difference in the comparison video. Or even a $450 difference.
@@allthekidsareright Nope - terrible investment. If I still had my Challenger I’d go 3rd party for sure!
@@DMVSoloRider sold the challenger?
@@allthekidsareright traded for an FTR R Carbon. No time for road trips or even just local rides, so I decided to try something new. 🤷♂️🤣
