Test Ride: 2024 Harley Davidson Road Glide
Well, well, well...time for a little Harley action on the channel! 🤣 If you've seen my community page or instagram, you know I lost my little kitty recently. Her health needs were the primary reason I set aside bagger life for my FTR. With her leaving me much sooner than I ever anticipated 😭, I'd rather get the hell out of my empty house and hit the road...so I need a new bagger. Will it be a Road Glide? A Street Glide? A 2025 Challenger? I'm honestly not sure after almost buying a Road Glide twice. We'll just have to see how it goes!
Anyway, check out my test ride on the 2024 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. Harley has done a really nice job with the new baggers. If you haven't had a chance to take one for a spin I highly recommend it - swing by your local dealer!
Until next time, which will obviously be a 2024 Street Glide test ride, y'all stay safe out there!

Indian FTR R Carbon: Thoughts After 2500 Miles
มุมมอง 1.1K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey all! I've had my 2022 Indian FTR R Carbon for almost a year now. While I don't think 2500 miles is enough experience to film one of my special hour review videos with chapters and all that, I did want to share my thoughts about my bike and experience to date. What I love. Some things that bug me. Not a review, but more like long-term initial impressions! 🤣 Oh, and for my fellow shorties out...

Hey all, I'm back - that's 3 weeks in a row! Sheer madness! 🤪 I never had a chance to take the Sport Chief for a spin when it was first released, so I've been looking forward to throwing a leg over one for a while now. It's a beautiful bike (you likely already know that if you're here watching!), and you simply cannot go wrong with a Thunderstroke 116! But did I actually like riding it? Would I...

Hey all, check out the new Fenrir Bar End Mirrors on my Indian FTR R Carbon! As you can see from my thumbnail, I was offered a free set of bar end mirrors by www.Fenrir-moto.com in exchange for filming a review, and I couldn’t say no! Fortunately, the mirrors are a win - good quality, I think they look great on the bike, and even I was able to install them in less than 15 minutes! If you’re in ...

Architecturally, the engines in the 1250 cc Scouts vs an FTR are completely different. Bore and stroke are different. It’s not a comparison between two models.
Im turning 31 and buying the bobber for my first bike ever , it reasured me to hear you say that you went indian as well . ( im very cool headed )
@@bernardvezina-gagnon24 Have no worries about a Scout for your first bike! It was fantastic for me, and if you’re getting the a 2025 you even have the benefit of ride modes (rain mode)! to help keep that throttle more tame initially. You’re going to love it!!! Amazing bike, whether it’s a 1st for 10th! ✌️
I actually like the two into one pipe. I think it looks better than the two into two. Gimmie the fattie pipe.
@@DireTribble Man, that thing’s a quiet Bazooka! 🤣
Very nice bike I have one as well. I’m also in the DMV
Don’t get rid of it! Best bike on the market, and I miss mine every day! 😭
Hello DMV!! This video showed up in my YT feed and I couldn't resist!! I took your advice a year back or so and purchased a new 2021 HD Road Glide Limited....EVEN after many, many test rides on Gold wings, BMW and Indian...I have to say Thank-you, as I LOVE the fixed fairing!! I put 80,000 miles on my 2018 Ultra Ltd and never got accustomed with the wind buffeting...Im sold on the fixed fairing after 6500 miles this year...See you at the next demo and sorry to hear about your CAT...
Hey Tommy, great to hear from you! There is no substitute for a fixed fairing man - I would never steer you wrong! 😉 I'll keep my eye out for you and your beautiful bride, and thanks - she is in a better place!
@@DMVSoloRider
Hey DMV, long time no see. I took a ride on my Pursuit to the local Harley dealership here in Baton Rouge about 2 weeks ago to look at the new bikes. It just seems that they just keep getting wider and wider. We're about the same height and have similar problems with reaching the ground, but with the current power plant, it's just too much for me. I've given up on Harley. My all-time favorite was the Fat Boy, but now I can't touch the ground without my legs hitting the engine. Can't wait to see what you end up with and what your thoughts are. Have a good one.
Hey there! I don’t know if it’s that they’re wider, or the slightly higher seat height is just enough to make it just a little bit more inconvenient to get one foot down comfortably, but it’s definitely a thing. After a few test rides I just assume it’s something I’d get used to - slide a bit more to the side in the seat at a stop. 🤷♂️ Definitely waiting to see what a ‘25 Challenger brings to the table before making a choice!
@DMVSoloRider I helped myself out with a pair of Red Wing loggers boots. 1 1/2" heel and a 3/4" sole, and they're insulated I'm flat footing my Pursuit now.
There’s always a solution for the vertically challenged! 🤣
Well Harley sells a Jiffy Extension kit to help with the kickstand. I tried to get something for the Indian Chief, and there was nothing from the manufacturer to help with the kick stand.
@@JohnBhaktul Yeah - nothing that can’t be addressed. What they really need to fix is that HD trustfall! 🤣 I’m surprised Indian doesn’t sell an extended reach kickstand for the Chief - had to get one (OEM) for my Chieftain.
Being an Indian owner as you stated, I can see your point in staying with what you are already familiar with and venturing into the Harley side for a new bagger will require lots of points for Harley to win you over above and beyond what Indian will have to offer in 2025, but give it time and score each points that you like and dislike on a score sheet to keep an objective and fair evaluation. I have been riding the Harleys for well over 20 years, owned my first HD, a 2003 Heritage Softail Classic, and now able to afford & saved on my seventh & final golden white pearl 2024 CVO/ST and let me tell these 2024's are so night and day different from the 2023 HD's on down bagger. I did consider the Indian line but what really won me over is Harley's fit and finish is certainly a place on the hill that no other manufacture topped this motor company...good luck on you next bagger and chose wisely & let us know---thanks for sharing.
@@dcdell2008 Thanks - I’m sure I’ll be happy however it winds up. I’m definitely a fan of the new bikes. I just know I’m going to put a ton of miles on the next one, so I’m ok taking a little more time to be sure. And while I’m generally positive on Indian’s fit/finish, if the new challenger still has a naked tank bolt on top, I will blow my stack! lol 🤯
G’day! Good stuff mate! Hey, any problem with vibration? Also, are you able to put the stock bar end weight as well with a longer bolt? Thx mate!
@@cheekydevil3241 Thanks! I’m not using the stock weights or a long bolt as shown by @six5rider in his install video. I haven’t had any issues with feeling vibration in the bars, although I can see the mirrors vibrating a bit if I pay attention - usually at (very) high speed on the highway, and they’re vibrating so fast that it pretty much cancels out any distortion. 🤣
Good video man! Being originally from the DMV myself I enjoyed watching your video and my old stomping grounds. I love the FTR, I have a Rally myself and can’t wait to bring it up to Nova soon to ride around those beautiful roads. I agree with everything you mentioned. I recently installed the S&S and it sounds great even with the cat still installed.
@@Six5Rider Thanks, I appreciate that! Sometimes I wonder if my takes are on-point, or just showing my lack of experience! 🤣 Not sure what I’m going to do about an exhaust, but S&S is on the list for sure. NoVA roads are still awesome and ready for you! ✌️
I used to watch your videos when you had the Chieftain. I have a 2018 chieftain as well, spent a lot of money on modifying it, etc. rode it all over the place all over the country. Then I decided to upgrade to an Indian pursuit and I see that you had a challenger, I love the pursuit, just came back from riding route 66 from beginning to end on it and enjoyed the ride. I completely agree with you the ability to just jump on a bike and ride is the FTR really well. Somehow the universe has aligned and I am picking up a 2023. Funny that I ran across your channel and saw that you switched to an FTR as well.
@@Roll_with_R.C. Welcome back! 66 on a Pursuit sounds like a fantastic time! I’m busy making up for lost time over here (late start to my motorcycling addiction), but enjoying my FTR. Stay tuned next week when I’ll have my 5th or 10th bike in 6 years! 🤣
I have a 2024 MT-10 and a 2022 FTR. The MT-10 is faster and has the quick shifter/tech. But I tell you, the FTR is more fun to ride. It's a better experience, in my opinion. I love the FTR...
@@Joe.O_623 Love reading that! MT-10 is a beast, so that’s some high praise for the FTR!
KST makes bars for the challenger that would fix that issue

She a beauty! I do love the engine breaking myself and the Indians do not disappoint. I’m still in the comfy touring bike mode mentally. If I were 20 years younger, I’d be on one of those.
@@602North I’ll be back in a bagger at some point - have so many national parks to ride through! It’s a nice change though. All the best aspects of cruiser power and a top end I’m still getting used to! 👍

That's what it was - couldn't quite remember!
I live in NW DC and about to get my first motorcycle! Pretty nervous about riding it home for the first time from a Fall Church VA dealership. Watching you ride on roads I'm familiar with is giving me more confidence.
@@atonaltensor Congratulations! Have you had a license/ridden a bit, or is this not just your first bike, but your first riding outside of the MSF class? If the latter, you can always have your bike delivered. Ease into riding at your own pace. If that’s absolutely not possible, I recommend heading to the dealer as early as possible, and try to find a parking lot to practice in, and as you get more comfy expand from there. I remember how psyched I was to get my Scout - excited for you!
@@DMVSoloRider Passed my MSF course today! I’m buying a new bike, but I’m thinking it will be wiser to have it delivered, as you say.
@atonaltensor Congrats! Can’t go wrong being safe!
Awesome review thanks for taking the time big love from Australia 😊😊😊
@@stimsonromano2258 Thanks! It’s been a bit since I threw a leg over that Rebel. But still comfy with my view at the time that if you had $ flexibility, the Scout was the more pleasing choice! If I had to make the choice today with that Rebel vs the 2025 Scout Classic, the Scout is a harder sell. Throttle isn’t what it used to be with the updated electronics!
I’m not seeing a $650 brightness difference in the comparison video. Or even a $450 difference.
@@allthekidsareright Nope - terrible investment. If I still had my Challenger I’d go 3rd party for sure!

That Indian Hauler cab 🤯 Did some demo rides during bike week in new hampshire. The people working there were super nice and helpful. We got to ride a little early. Only questions upon return were: what did you think and what do you want to ride next. Did sports chief, FTR and a chieftain. I didn’t take out any of the bike tourers. But I love all the roadmaster includes. The challenger is nice too. You want performance or comforts. Next year or two going to be owning one of them!! 😎

@@scottw.8871 There you go. I have no interest in exploring the true quality of my gear by passing out and falling off my bike! 🔥🔥🔥
It would be an interesting video if you can also test ride the new Triumph Bonneville Speed master and compare it to the Indian Scout Classic.
I have a speedmaster video up. I don’t think they’ve made any changes to it since. Lovely bike - just a perfect country cruiser, and has plenty of power for that purpose. If I had to ride a stock bike - no changes to seat, bars, etc, I’d have to go with a Speedmaster over the new Scout. I just can’t handle the stock Scout riding position. 😢
I agree with you totally. I'm 60 years old and a new rider. I took the safety course and passed it several years ago but never really rode a bike. I am after comfort and maneuverability. So I think the Speed master will be a much better choice. I will practice in the parking lot like you did to get the feel of the bike. Thanks for the reply!
@erolyalim2911 Fantastic! Just take your time and progress at the pace you’re comfy with. You’ll be flying down the road before you know it! And that speedmaster is a real looker! ✌️

I found your channel, this video, while researching, trying to find any information about a quiet helmet for recording audio moto vlogging. I decided on HJC because I am finding they produce the quietest budget helmets bellow $300. Specifically the C70, entry level $180 known to be reasonably quiet. I love modular helmets, but I was avoiding them because they tend to be noisier. What I appreciated from your video is that you gave us an actual live sample of how it sounds as you were riding, and I was impressed with your results, you actually sounded much better and natural with the i90 compared to your ICON Flight helmet. Stating all that, could you clarify a couple of things. Were you using all the same components on both videos except for the two helmets of course and the different bikes? Same purple panda mic, same sound external recorder, same GoPro camera, similar settings on the audio recorder, I guess the audio recorder allows you to tone down the audio gain to avoid clipping, which the go pro doesn’t do. You made a lot of emphasis on the issue with the GoPro not recording audio if you use the record auto start function, in which case you have to result to getting a media mod, or not recording in 4K, or just using the power button to start the camera manually, but that is not convenient. The solution to all that is jump ship to the new DJI action 4 camera, it doesn’t have any of those issues, more reliable and much better night dusk recording quality. I have held back from purchasing a sound recorder because I want to keep it as simple as possible, specifically not having to sync audio, but I do see the advantage of a reliable and more customized audio recording equipment. Back to the helmet, having a quiet helmet that’s 75% of the battle. Unfortunately, I only see a lot of how to videos on how to attach the camera to the helmet, but no videos review that shows the final audio results like you did. That HJC i90 sounded so clean and Natural, I think that’s going to be my next helmet. I also noticed that at 3:51 the exposure changed on your video, did you made some camera adjustments or did you corrected on post? Normally when recording me from the handle bars, I have to increase the exposure on the camera to expose the black jacket correctly, but that completely washes out the sky, in this video, you managed to maintain the clouds details as well as your black jacket being well exposed, maybe your GoPro 8 is that much better than my Hero 7.
Glad you found the videos to be helpful! Same equipment/settings in both videos. The only editing I do to the audio is play around with the base - some videos require more and some require less. Also, uploading to YT can produce different results from video to video requiring adjustments. But my skill set is as basic as it gets. 🤣 If there’s a perception in Video/color quality it’s likely due to weather conditions - sunshine/cloudy, etc. 🤷♂️ The only thing I will change, which can make a difference, is using superview or a standard view. Superview can wash out colors, and while I filmed the HJC video a while ago/don’t remember, my guess is when I filmed the HJC video with only 1 camera facing me, I did not use superview. Definitely would make a difference! As for my cameras, there are definitely better options - im just not filming enough to worry about it since I already have 2 functioning GoPros. At some point I’ll try something new! As for the audio/noise between the two helmets in the two videos, keep in mind the Airflite is a really noisy helmet. Audio may sound better in the HjC in these two videos, but the results of my mic work in the airflite are definitely more impressive! 🤣 Oh, one other point about the HJC - I think I just had the mic crammed in the ear pad in that video (never did glue in a clip), but I was also riding slower - makes a big difference. Ultimately, whichever helmet you choose you can manage. I also pick helmets based on my riding needs, not filming needs, and that’s what I’d recommend to anyone wanting to do some vlogging. ✌️
I visited the tesa sugru website and couldn’t locate that gummy glue, do you have a link ?
Just go find it on Amazon - that’s where I get mine.
Excelente video, thanks for all the links, great perspectives and explanations, loved it. Will comment more on your other video, the HJC i90 video.
Does manual got quick shift ?
No quick shifter. I don’t think I’d even want one on a touring bike. Might be fun on a sport Chief or the new Scout 101. 🤷♂️
Best for hard leans, I love mine. 90 deg turns in neighborhood. The more you lean the more leds light up.
I know, and I’m not a hard leaner. But for that $ I still wanted the headlight to jump out of the bike and hold up those orange glow sticks they use at airports to gently guide me around not-very-sharp turns. 🤣
Oh look it’s my cookout by my home
Close enough to ride on demo day!
Hey DMV, Do you have the specs on those bars? i.e. height, pullback, etc...
@@walkingsouth6141 the specs are the same exact as stock bars, and I had a total of 5” of pullback added to stock. If I could do it over again, I’d probably go with 6” or even 7”. I went conservative, because it wasn’t clear how much excess wiring I had (you don’t want to splice/extend stock wiring on a challenger - interferes with computer; uncertain if Indian has released any sort of OEM extension). When my dealer put the KST bars on they told me I still had several inches of excess wire. 🤷♂️
PS email Ret Tolleson at KST - he had only made a couple sets when I started working with him, and he may have more up-to-date advice since.
Cannot get away from that ugly exhaust! Did the designers really think that looked ok?!

Just found your channel, and I am so excited. As a short rider, I only have a 27 1/2 inseam on a good day, your opinions mean so much. You are one of the very few that discusses inseam, as opposed to height, which is more important. I presently ride a fully decked out Scout 69, as well as a Harley Softail, and a massive Victory Vision which I have named Titanic. Not sure if you have ever riden one, but I would sure love to know how a Cheiftan would compare in suitability for a short rider. I thik if you were able to do reviews on older bikes of all makes and models for shorter riders, you would gain a lot of subcribers, as I know there are so many shorter riders that want to ride the bigger bikes. You have a new subscriber. You deserve to have so many more,
Thanks, I really appreciate it! I think of all the videos I’ve posted/comments I’ve received, those like yours are hands down my favorite and make me feel like I’ve contributed something meaningful! I absolutely agree - inseam is what matters! I haven’t ridden a Vision, but I put 11k on my first bagger - a Chieftain! When I did my review I made a point of emphasizing/talking about my fit. Check it out and let me know what you think. You may already be watching them, but check out @doodleonamotorcycle and @BikesILike. Doodle is a shortie and usually puts good emphasis on that, although at 32” her inseam probably gives her an easier time on tall bikes either of us. Lol BikesILike does videos where he will pose digital models of different heights/inseams and how they may fit on various bikes. Excellent info! Titanic is an awesome name for a bagger! 🤣👍
It’s a great looking bike. I imagine, after riding you FTR for this long it would take getting used to. Good review.

A few times after upshifting I felt a rubbing sensation in the clutch when I was letting it out. Only happened a few times and I guess I forgot about it by the end of the ride. Can’t say there’s anything wrong with the transmission - could be a demo bike thing, or could have just been me for all I know. 🤷♂️ I’ve never had any issues with the transmissions on my Indians.
What you need is a Clockwerks flip windshield if they are still making them. That'll make the air foil so you won't get any bufetting.
Yeah, that’s what was on my Challenger. I actually tried the larger shield they make, and that was overkill. What can I say, but I want no buffeting, but also to not have to look through the shield when it’s all the way down too. Just a challenge to work through with bikes, right? 🤣
The Classic looks awesome in the red colure, I test rode the FTR last month a found the rear brake to be low on performance. What are you test riding next?
Next up is the Sport Chief…in red. 🤣 I think my FTR rear brakes is pretty good, certainly compared to the scout classic. Did you test ride the Carbon?
where was this ride? I am in the dmv they didn't come to annapolis did they?
No, it was at Indian Motorcycle of Fredericksburg. I don’t think I’ve seen Chesapeake Cycles do a demo day tbh. Just a good reason to visit Fredericksburg! ✌️
nice. I just looked up there gonna be at twigg in Hagerstown in July. I'm gonna have to hit that one up
@@andrewblahut6213 👍 Demo day is awesome!
Welcome back, we haven't got the new Scouts this side of the pond yet, but I like the look of the Classic the 101 looks good I do believe you can get mid control set up on the 101.
Thanks, nice to be back for a few videos! It’s a great update! On a 101 I’d put floor boards on, handlebars that come way back, a back rest, and still just rip around locally! 🤣 If I could change anything about my motorcycle history, I’d have kept my original American graffiti-esque Scout Icon!
Indian also sells front control extensions for a couple more inches to straighten and lower your knees a bit. I'm thinking that might ease the clam-shell feeling a bit. Of course I'm 6'3" so reaching the bars is not an issue.
@@KenOtwell haha yeah, I think it’s more about the reach to the bars than the controls for a shorty like me! 🤣
💥💥💥 I was interested in the 30k Challenger review but you talked about everything else. 10 minutes in I stopped the video. Little more focus.
lol I have two other Challenger reviews on my channel, including a 1 hour long in-depth video with chapters. This was a final thoughts/why I got rid of it video, and there’s nothing lacking in focus about it.
It handles better with the windshield down
👍
How tall r u 5 ?
5’5”
I’m 6 hav no problem with feet came from 2019 triumph scrambler xe then u can’t touch
@@Gregsagert1 couldn’t get both feet down, but getting one down & shifting in seat isn’t a problem. Riding an Indian FTR now, with a higher seat height - not a problem for my short self. 😎
