As a Chinese, I can tell you that Timo is absolutely one of the favourite foreign players for Chinese table tennis fans. He surely was a tough rival for Chinese athletes in his prime, but he’s also such a gentleman with good personality. I’ll miss him when he retires.

Hand switch is really hard and unpredictable tedhinque. It might just not work.
...because Ma Lin as many Asians do, show less facial/expressive/outward emotions than Americans and European's do, therefore camera work focused on Boll after points for emphasis, not because he is better or more valued.

Ma Lin couldn't beat him cause Timo is left handed. Just like a pitcher in baseball. The reverse spin is tough to gauge for a right hander.
