@mj y Not Timo fan but I think he is respectable. A skillful and cool player.
He did have several remarkable wins against Chinese top players like the one vs Ma Long in 2017 WC (actually he seldom did it, that's why those wins were remarkable).
For the people saying that Timo is the Western player who Chinese fear the most, I think nope. Jan Ove Waldner was the one.
@@hornet89alpha timo had beaten lots of top chinese players during his peak time 2003-2006. This is Timo using his experience.
@@mindrover777 yeah I know. Watched lots of his match when I was a highschool boy. Ma Lin, Wang Hao as well as Wang Liqin all had a tough time against him. All 50/50 games.

Fan Zhendong's playing style is obviously very aggressive, and this is very challenging for Boll. My hope is that Boll can be more aggressive and then maybe he can win this game.

The Chinese are just so good at the most critical moments of the match. Even the youngest most inexperienced ones.
Yes I highly agree to your degree of intelligence. Fang Zhangdang beet the 29 year old time bowl in a rather simple manner, by using his pineapple backhand 2 set up his offense style of play.

Its due to their coach,the know exactly what to do,just like how timo won after his time out,liu gouliang can give the best tactics to his players.if they had any worse coach timo would probably lose 4/3 against ma long etc not 4/1 or 4/2
That right there in the 6th game, was the only one fh flick FZD could nail clearly. I saw the video on 2016 Qatar Open yesterday and couldn't think of a reason this guy doesn't do that more often... It appears he has problems with nailing them with enough agreesiveness in matches. That's just my assumption.On the other hand, God, the ability and power this guy has to find the center of where your body is, it's simply mind blowing. That's what's going to win him the big titles... It is really impressive, no matter where the opponent is, he find his body; make him move, and then just throw a shot in the exact opposite direction. Simply impressive.

@mj y Actually. Timo plays very safe in every game. He doesn't take risks. If another player will also play defensive game then Timo can not win.

+Zazen forever Why do they lack class according to you? It`s very intense match. Top spin to top spin, look at that Fan Zhendong back hand top spin, just out of the world. By no means they lack class because they scream.
I am thinking how Waldner, or some other classy player would react in such an intense match. This lack of class is no different than in other sports, unfortunately, where fist pumping, chest beating and histrionics seem to be the order of the day.
How do you define class in a player in any sports? According to how the player celebrate when they win a points? If you`re saying that Timo Boll,Zhang Jike,Fan ZD lack class then you must not be a table tennis fans. They are classy player because they can play so goddamned well at the highest level of table tennis game. Not because they are so cool when they celebrate a point.
Look up Waldner and how he conducts himself. Class. These guys? Not classy.
BTW, I was referring to their screaming and fist pumping after a point, not their overall play.
