Fun Fact : David Drayman, lead singer, discovered his vocal talent at an early age in Synagogue where he studied to be a cantor before eventually starting a rock band.

Don't rush to the sickness yet your gradual pace is working for you. Another powerful statement I would suggest you look at is The vengeful one. Happy travels

This was the first song I ever heard from them. When I was like, 12 or 13. They Became my favorite band ever since. His voice is so unique and the words in all of his songs have so much meaning.
One of my favorite Disturbed songs. Saw them in 2019. Fabulous concert!
This was my first Disturbed song. I was going through a difficult time and this song spoke to me and helped me deal with what I was going through. There's a form of prayer in Judaism called hitbodedut. It's where you poor out all the anguish and pain in soul to your creator, and it's OK to express your anger with God for your loss and pain. It's a visceral form of prayer, difficult but incredibly cleansing. I know David Draiman is Jewish and that this song was written in part to express his anger and pain over 9/11 and the loss of his beloved grandfather. I'm not sure if he wrote it as a form of hitbodedut, but as someone who's experienced that form of prayer, I feel like this song is indeed that type of prayer. So powerful.
There are so many great songs it's hard to suggest ones but my favourites are indestructible or immortalised live and another way to die has a really powerful message

Enjoying you enjoying Disturbed! I’m a 47 yr old forever fan of Disturbed. The hard stuff is very well written, performed and sang by this awesome band. Some of my favorites I’d recommend are The Light, Stricken, Indestructible, Vengeful One, Stupify and Down with the Sickness.
It's been a while since you did Distrubed!
They are one of my favorite metal bands!
They, along with Five Finger Death Punch, focus on the issues that need to be addressed.
I will sort of warn you. The uncensored version of Down With the Sickness hits hard, and it's a metaphor and not literal. I'll leave it at that, lol.

If you’re going to do Down With The Sickness, for goodness sake do NOT use the ‘official video’……it’s edited, cleaned up and shortened. I suggest the live version from the 2008 Rock Am Ring in Germany…..the 2016 performance from the same festival is amazing as well..

"...how they're just willing to sing about these important matters." Welcome to Metal, my man. It's rather a grown-up genre, full of serious topics, but not all (and not even most) are focused on anger or other stereotypical things non-metal-heads imagine metal must be about.
Believe was a complete sucker-punch. None of us expected this after The Sickness; we went from a generic nu-metal album with some unusual vocal sounds to an absolute blast of an album, zero filler, an exploration of belief that was up there with Bad Religion's The Process of Belief. I'm a big fan of Remember as an exploration of childhood trauma.
That said, this is a very young Draiman, a man who hadn't yet gone through Hell. Fate gave him what he asked for here, and it's an instructive thing in this song: do not tempt the fates. Nobody wants to go through what he went through to make Asylum. Never believe that "living your life's not hard enough" or the Universe will answer you, and you will not appreciate its answer.

I am not at all "religious" (believe I would technically be classified as a deitist) but this is probably my favorite Disturbed track and the one I put on when I demand action out of myself or challenge.
really nice commentary on the video and them as a band. Easily one of my favorite songs of theirs, beautiful message with a kick ass riff. You gotta check out something from 10 Thousand Fists besides Land of Confusion, every song is a banger.
Stricken, Stupify, and, Inside the Fire ... must do Disturbed! Also The Light, Remember, Asylum ... just for starters! 😅😊❤

Your speaking audio is mixed really quietly compared to the song audio, so it makes the video a bit hard to watch without blowing out my ears or not being able to hear you.
