The pre react chat and the respectful silence during the song. Amazing.
I've been saying for years that this is an appropriate cover for the age we live in.
Great cover of a great song. It really points out how us humans are just stuck in a loop. Most people just want to live in peace, but the relative few people in power keep trying to destroy everything. We never learn. Every generation thinks they're going to do better, but we all end up just like the generation before.
I remember the original old music video of Phil Collins where they used big faced puppets to look like Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan and Gorbechov bickering with each other.
I'll never get over Ronnie trying to order a glass of water...
When i was a teen i used to only listen to rap. Disturbed was one of the bands that got me into rock/metal music.
I bet you are down with the sickness.
For me it was the same. And it was the holy trinity of the early 2000’s that brought me over: Disturbed, Linkin Park, and System of a Down
really?)) welcome to the club. I listened to pop, but in 2000s converted to heavy rock/metal))
I love this cover. All of their covers are amazing. And the band, David's vocals. Everything's perfect.
Hi Sophie and G!
I really like this song, and I am glad that you shared it with us. The band sounds like my kind of groove.
Have a wonderful day!
You have to show Sophie the Genesis video now.
Give the girl nightmares.
The problem is she wouldn't have a chance of recognizing the real people let alone their puppets.
Nightmares when i was a kid. Id dream of that video before i had the conscience to remember
😂😂😂😂 I was gonna say oh you mean nightmare fuel
Disturbed took this song to the next level! Sorry Genesis; I am a child of the 80’s! But Disturbed captures the true essence of the song!!
This video shows what insurrection is all about! Jan 6 was not insurrection. Use your intellect! Most of Trump’s supporters are strong believers in the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution; which, is the right to bear arms(have guns.) However, there were hardly any guns present on Jan 6. If his fan base meant for armed insurrection, then this would have been full-blown revolution! I hear the British accents; so, you know your host with the US! It was so nice you tried it twice!!
Disturbed has some really great music. I would recommend some of their older stuff and some of their new stuff. I don't remember the titles too good.
It’s rly cute watching mom being a music Sherpa ❤
LP stands for “Long Play”.
The Genesis version is a campy look at the "Cold War" during the eighties, this one is a brutal take on the aftermath of not heeding the warning of mutual nuclear destruction.
You should definitely show her the Genesis video.
Yeah... but it was never a happy song. Sarcastic, sure, but not happy. In fact the original video was pretty bleak!
@@BeeWhistler People get distracted too easily. Ooh, funny looking puppets. There are still people who think "Every Breath You Take" is a romantic song and use it for wedding songs.
The Vengeful One
Pairs with this music video perfectly.
Needed also do Disturbed down with the sickness
I think the small single song per side records were called 45s. The large ones with a number of songs per side were called albums, LPs (for Long Playing), or 33s. The numbers had to do with the number of revolutions the record turned on the turntable.
Yeah, there was also the rare 78 albums(originals, not reproductions), they were phased out by the LP 33s. Much like 8 track being replaced by cassettes which was then replaced by CDs in turn replaced by digital media(MP3s).
@@bamachine I’m not sure how rare 78s were. My father had a collection of albums, most of which were 78s. I think, but am not sure, that they revolved 78 times per minute on the turntable. Stereos had manual switches that you’d need to change for 45s, 33s, or 78s. As kids we’d play 45s at 78 speed to make songs sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks!😂
@@pacmanc8103 Yeah, we had 78s also. I grew up in the 70's and 80's. They pretty much stopped making the 78s sometime in the 60's. I think. Of course, they stopped making 33s in the 90's. Then the "retro" thing caught on and now they are back to making vinyl. Just like baseball cards from the 50's or mint all original 57' Chevy Bel-Airs, the more time passes, the rarer something becomes.
Did you know at 1.He ran a giant old people's home and at another point He almost became a rabbi and by he. I mean the guy singing.
We always called the smaller records 45's
the end of the the video shows the the "hammer of justice" (thew blue Fist) , "a power no man could ever wield for it brings equality to all of mankind!" and human nature cant have that, we always have to have someone in power
Avenged Sevenfold -- Little Piece of Heaven
When my niece was younger she called the records big CDs.
I saw Disturbed live in Michigan 6 years ago and they were so messed up you couldn't understand them. I love their music but not always great live!
Seen them once and it was good. Probably because it was 15 years ago and they were younger.
Saw them last month they SLAYED it ! With Breaking Benjamin and Jinger .
I saw them on a farewell tour around 10 years ago before they got sober! So drunk they were getting the lyrics wrong.
This was an amazing cover of Genesis' version. Whereas Genesis' version focused on the 80s, Disturbed switched out a few of the lyrics and put a more modern twist on it.
I highly recommend reacting to Disturbed's The Light and its music video. I also highly recommend reacting to Don't tell me with Anne Willson by Disturbed. Both songs are phenomenal.
But I do have to say land of confusion is pretty good. I forgot about this anime cinematic. It's pretty great.
Loved it.
That's why it's important to listen to the lyrics...not just hear them...
Disturbed does have a lot of original songs but it seems their covers get more widespread acclaim. In those covers, they take songs that were originally warnings and show you how they are coming to pass because not enough people listened to those warnings.
Yes, play genesis original, and let Sophie see what the 80's were like! As like G, I really did not take so much into the words of the song, but more about how funny the video was with the sock puppet characters..
I liked this. And you need to do the original video.
Now you need to see the original VIDEO by Genesis. And a whole lot more!
this is valid song at our time now.. who else benefits this state of world now is but big corporations.. follow the money they say..
I would say for me the Disturbed music video was more impactful cause were living in that world currently.
The music video for the original Genesis version is kinda crazy, it had like a Ronald Reagan puppet running around being crazy as I recall.
Not bad, never heard this b4
This song become famous thanks to Disturbed
❤🖤
LP stands for long playing (as far as I know)
Sadly relevant song. This 'Disturbed' video and cover is powerful.
90's
Where’s the sound of silence video? Did Canada’s internet law block me from watching it or am I just blind?
Also “Another Way to Die” is a good one, depressing, but a good song.
What does L.P stand for?
Long player runs at 33 revs per minute singles were called 45 as they ran at 45 revs per minute
The only Phil Collins songs I have ever liked is the ones he did for Disney's Tarzan.
Something in the Air is horrible when done by him, State of Mine matches the instrumental and makes the song much better.
I am sure Disturbed did the same with this one, improving on the original.
Love you, Soph!
Genesis’ version I prefer.
As much I’d be interested in your reaction there’s too much chat going on before it. I truly wanted to watch your video, but unfortunately there is way too much introspection and introduction to your reaction.
There is much better rock out there no offense this is a little hard
This is pretty awful.
You guys have no taste Lol disturbed is amazing 🤘
Omg. I forgot how bad this version is.
Love this reaction
