This is the short version, in the extended version you hear the mother physically hurting him until he can't endure anymore and attacks, the real message of the song.
@@firefighterchick There have been many actual mothers or fathers like this. But very few societies, not even ones like North Korea or Iraq under Saddam or Afghanistan under Alqueda. Definitely no regular society, no matter how much its members may try to use it as an excuse.
@bartonbagnes4605 it is what David Draiman said is about. The beating is metaphorical, not literal. Mommy represents society trying to 'beat down' those who don't conform. The sickness is those who are different. I agree it fits the other scenario as well.
@@firefighterchick Let's face it, anyone who calls American or any European society oppressive are just wimps, or doing something that no society should allow, like misusing children.
So, now you understand and can truly appreciate the massive scope of David Draimon's talent. It's quite astonishing. Disturbed has been a favorite of mine for years. So glad they're a favorite of yours as well. : )
I’m a rocker from the 60’s. My love of head banging music continues to this day. David Draiman is a beast. Love Disturbed. I was a little concerned you may not like this one. So glad you enjoyed it. Love that you are open to different genres of music.
Wow! It has been a while. You have graduated. You are now a full metal fan 😊 David Draiman said that sickness is people who do not conform to what society says is normal. They refer to that ability as a sickness. Although this is the radio edit of the song. For your entertainment, I recommend you listen to the unrated version. In that one, there is a verse where the bonus verse talks about 'mommy' who represents society. Mommy tries to beat him onto submission (to be quote-in-quote normal)until it pushes into lashing back at her. Great reaction Craig! I'm glad you took your time to get to it appreciate it. The next harder one of theirs would be Indestructible. That was done for the troops fighting overseas to give them a motivational song. Who Taught You Hate is another great one as well and Don't Tell Me featuring Ann Wilson of Heart.
Wow great reaction! I found this great band at 57 years old. They can do so many different kind of songs. Keep going with them. Luv from Australia ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
David has so many colors to his voice, and amazing range, control, sweetness/tenor (if he wants), baritone (if he wants), powerful (if he wants) and awesome vocal fry WITH vibrato if he so chooses. Great that you finally got to the "Sickness"...lol... you are now metal !!!
I must admit that I am much more inclined to listen to videos rather than watch them. Knowing what was coming, I looked up just in time to see your facial expression as David did his signature sound, and I will also admit that it made me giggle. I do like this version better than the album version simply because the long one is very triggering for past trauma. I spent a portion of quarantine researching David and Disturbed. I don’t like all of their songs (that goes for pretty much any band), but this one, as you said, is something to get one pumped up for a work week. The band has been recording some more mellow stuff that really showcase David’s voice and his vocal training, too.
Disturbed is so freaking good, so is slipknot. This takes me back to the early 2000s! I’m not positive but I want to say the lead singer is classically trained.
OH MY GOODNESS SHUG😁❣️. For a couple seconds there when the song ended so abruptly you looked like you had been kicked in da face 🤣🤣🤣🙏🏻❣️. Oh I just love yer genuine reactions puddin 💞🙏🏻❣️.
You wouldn’t know it but David has the Beautiful voice ! His range is incredible ! Check out, “ The sound of Silence “ cover, live on Conan ! You’re gonna Love it ! 😉🤩🤯🤙
I am glad you did this song , but there is a verse missing from that particular video. I would like to request a couple songs. One is Remember from the same album as Prayer and also The Night from the indescribable album. I have a third request but it is difficult for people to get through the video. It’s called Inside The Fire also from the Indestructible album.
Shit i forgot some good parts of this song! They put on a famously good show. Used to tour around here all the time but that was 20 years ago. But they are crowd pleasers very well known great show
Nope...I know this is the sort of music that made them famous...but when he sings softer songs his real talent shines. Just love him btw...great personality.
I have some suggestions for you based on what I’ve seen in your reactions. First Marie Osmond Pie Jesu . Trust me it beautiful, Donny Osmond soilder of love & would I lie to you are great. Country Kenny Roger’s the last ten years, duets with Dolly Parton, you can’t make old friends. Kenny, good bye, Kenny morning desire is great. Reba, seven minutes in heaven. Martina McBride wrong again. Tim McGraw please remember me. Mac Davis who ever finds this I love you, Bobby Goldsboro Honey. Leanne rimes commitment, Leanne rimes , it probably wouldn’t be this way. Leanne borrowed, spit fire Dolly Parton me & little Andy, faith hill if I should fall behind, Wynonna Judd I want to know what love is. Cher & her mom I’m just your yesterday. Trisha yearwood, baby I’ll still love you more. Reba somebody’s Chelsea , I keep on loving you, Reba them horses, back to god.
I'm sorry but I definitely can not share your enthusiasm for this song (to me onky noise). I wish that you would stay closer to country and lighter rock music. Just my personal opinion but not interested in this kind of stuff.
This is the short version, in the extended version you hear the mother physically hurting him until he can't endure anymore and attacks, the real message of the song.
Except the mother is society, not an actual person.

I'm glad you stay openminded and listen to all genres of music. This is definitely early in their career.

I love their version of Sound of Silence, but this is not something I can listen to. Sorry.

Just my personal opinion but not interested in this kind of stuff.
