For those that do not know. The stacking method as displayed by the video is after the first cycle of Allagan rot. Everyone has to have a timer on their debuff with the last person receiving it. It will automatically be timed depending on how long you wait to pass it for everyone. You will need at least 5 players to succesfully do it without much concern, 4 can be done but very risky because of the 12 seconds on rot and the 40 secs before you get it again, leaving 8 total seconds of it switching for everyone, technically. In 5 players set up, once the last person receiving it calls everyone to stack. Because everyone still has a debuff all ranging from about to go away to just receiving it, 5-38 seconds or so, the next person getting it is the first person who got it all the way down. The allagan rot will jump from player to player whenever their debuff goes up taking care and basically taking away the mechanic. It is to be warned, that this strategy is also very dependent on the bosses you choose to kill because of the abilities he will have, not going the way they did on this video, the boss would have chain lighting and gravity.
Thank you for another informative video. I think I'll need to watch this at least a few more times before really understanding all this, though. It's a lot to take in.
If this trend of PVE keeps up and the Japanese continues to "perfect" this, then ffxiv 3.0 end game will involve forcing all players to remember PI for 50 digits, which correspond to 50 colors that the boss eye color can change. For example, if the eye of the boss is "sky blue" then player will have 2 second to stand on a pedal that correspond to the 34th digits of PI or be one shot.
really enjoying these vids you've been posting (just recently found you), curious as to if you'd ever do a scholar / whm job overview as i'm not really actually familiar with that class / job (and i don't have a copy of the game yet, it's on its way!)
1. The range of ballast is just too long for melee to reliably run away from 2. Tempered Will does not block the damage from a knockback. It just stops you from getting knocked back. You still take full damage.
Not sure its because he's scared of getting close to the bosses but being ranged DPS gives a lot of room for battle analysis and careful observation. Which helps with making these videos because we have a better view of what is going on. Being in melee range, amidst all the chaos, it would be difficult to make a clear guide.
We find it easiest to go the left way from where you spawn or right side of the map compared to your side. The way we are positioning the boss the ballast hits no one at range and the melee's are often able to dodge it quite easily by just running through the boss. Also yes this fight is easiest done with as many ranged as possible but today our two groups did the fight with 2 melee's in both and had no problems with that.
Not lookin forward to this Turn, it took me abit to get the Silencing part the first time I fought ADS in Turn 1 with my FC, I was pretty embarrassed that it took me awhile to figure it out, then again, I wasn't used to the fight as I only saw the Snake fight and not the start of Turn 1 itself XD Thanks for the guide! ^^
Mrhappy, how does your stacking strategy works? If all the ranged are stacked on top of each other on the first cast of Allagan Rot, won't the debuff just pass instantly to everyone (and causing the immunity debuff on all the ranged as well)?
The range isn't to long if you start running as soon as you see the cast bar.If you wait till the attack graphic appears on the floor then yeah, thats too late to start running.
He said to use Tempered Will to prevent the knockback into the rings... that's how it will reduce damage in this fight... didn't say Tempered Will itself has damage reduction on it.(not being a punk just replying... all friendly and stuffs ^^)
Just curious is Turn 3 mandatory in order to progress to 4 and 5? Since it contains no loot and is rather a brush off seems compared to other turns, do you have to do it?
Anyone know when ADS just cast rot, our tank are on full health and one of them just die 4/5 second after ADS cast rot. we can't seem to figure out what or how the tank die.
you always make these fights seem a lot more complicated than they actually are, jesus fuck I did this fight an hour ago and it was wayyy easier than how you made it out to be.
You realize this is probably back when the req ilvl is probably around what the max gear was right? That fight is easy when everyone is in 90-110 since its so easy to get now. Try doing it in like 75 or w/e min is and see how easy it is.
God, I cannot get over the 'Baltast' rubbish.. you just keep saying it. It's Ballast. It's something that regulates electrical current. Like you go to the length of making a good video focusing on high attention to detail, when you cannot even read an ability's name. Kinda saps the credibility from it all.
Kept getting to the end but dying to that circle attack and tanks not dodging revolving canons with stacks. This video makes it so easy, thanks!
Working on this Turn right now, thanks for the guides man you've been a big help

Blue mage: hold my cape

damn.. no comments since 6 years
So hallowed ground is not needed like how my FC thinks. My warrior can tank in there!
Thank you for this detailed guide.

Yeah we use a combination of your two strategies!

Wow, a Warrior tanking end-game?! Never thought I'd see it, thank you! :)
Your videos are always well made and very informative. Thank you :-)

we actually run 2 Melee DPS monk and dragoon in our comp and the DPS is noticably higher than using full ranged combo

great video. i really like that you speak really clearly but i wish you spoke a tiny bit faster. subbed!
Hey Mr Happy!
Just wondering how you made it so your hotbars did not display the slots that are empty (have no skills in it)
Thanks

uploaded close to my birthday :D

Is it ok to have just a full set dl and a relic+1 for coil? Or do i need at least one piece of af2 gear?
Also It's not Baltast, it's Ballast, Ball as in val and ast as in asterisk. Other than that, great video.
Anyone know when ADS just cast rot, our tank are on full health and one of them just die 4/5 second after ADS cast rot. we can't seem to figure out what or how the tank die.
Sounds like his stacks are just getting too high.
Too many stacks on the tank and he just dies to normal attacks.
Can someone explain me how the magro for the buffing is maked? with /wait or without
MrHappy, what server are you on? I see the LGCY guys... and they are on gilgamesh as well.
Does the stacking still work for passing the rot? Or did they patch that?
How can he get all the details and strategies for bosses?
Sooo, is there a place to repair your gear between turns or no?...
Thanks! I want to try coil but I'm scared I'm not able to silence in time for the first boss, I'm MNK btw
Allagan rot is also 15 seconds, not 12 seconds.
Even less than that is fine :)
Nice video but you should fact check skill names/skill ranges before putting the info out
Could you ever not use ranged DPS? It feels like your FC is afraid of approaching bosses. :-p
Am I the only one who think of Okami's final boss ?
IS there no turn 3 guide?
I don't think your range for the chain lightning is accurate, it's not 15-20 yalms, it's at most 5 yalms. Quite easy to spread out.
ESO, man
where's turn 3?
Anyone play on Gilgamesh server?

Dumbass
I don't understand how the thing is actually passed
Ballast. Its what ships use to control their buoyancy.
No dead monks? Err..?
seems legit
i think he talks fast enough already
sadly ranged is just easier.
It's suck-er not suck-core. Just sayin' ;)

It does happen prettty fast. Don't worry. You'll probably just be doing the enrage method anyway. No one does it this way anymore
Mr. Happy's pronunciation is embarrassing...
