Thanks to this video and a good party from the duty finder I was able to beat T3 in 3 tries. I did a couple of things differently, however: 1. I was the OT and was put in charge of pulling all the trash - everything except dreadnaughts I and spinner rooks. 2. When the two knights and soldiers dropped I pulled one knight and soldier while the MT grabbed the other two. 3. We fed the first set of spiders to the first Dreadnaught but kept the second set of spiders away - I pulled to the other side of room with the final soldiers and knights. To survive, I popped Holmgang, my healing buffs and Vengeance when my HP got to 25% and below. Healer was on point with heals as well. Thank you Mrhappy for this online guide and thank you party from the duty finder.
Taking my FC of new players to the game through these at min ilvl. Just wanted to thank you for these guides as i forgot a lot of these mechanics. Think we're going to try feeding and just make the healers adjust ;)
Just some clarification on Pox as it works differently to what most people think. What Pox does is set your current HP as your maximum, so if you have 1k HP when hit with Pox that will be your new max. Because of this it's a good reason to keep your tank topped up as much as you can when rooks are up, just incase.
Thanks again for the uploads. I use your tutorials on a constant basis for my FC members and website. Always a pleasure watching these videos it's appreciated. #sargatanas #FFXIV
he said dots applied through the skill Bane, which isnt the dot being cast directly from summoner to enemy, but spread from the other enemy to the nearby ones. IDK if that makes a difference, but it might be why.
Main tank takes both Dreadnaughts, don't feed either of the spiders. If neither of them have any stacks from spiders, 2 dreadnaughts hits about as hard as the phase 3 dreadnaught with 4 stacks. After that, kill spinner rook, then phase 5 dreadnaught, then knight/soldier, then feed the bugs, and zerg the phase 6 dreadnaught.
@Jeremy If you kill Phase 5 soldier/knights instead wouldnt that leave a 75% dreadnaught, plus the new dreadnaught, plus the knight/soldier and rook? How would you divide the tanking for that I'm not sure how to plan that.
I'm an i90 Summoner just about to clear t4 and then start on t5 with my FC group. I also have an i80 BLM, so I've tasted a little both. The thing is, the Summoner with potions and raging strikes DOES deal more damage with all the DoTs and shadowflare. The key, though, is that it's an over time effect. The max damage accumulates when the dots have reached their time. BLMs are just bursty. Ideally, I think it would be best to have two casters for t4. One BLM and one Summoner.
Yeah but a BLM doesn't need either potions or raging strikes to make up for shortcomings. SMN was my first class and I loved it, but even a lower level BLM trumps a better geared SMN. Ive cleared all dungeons and even solo fights out in the world quicker than I did with SMN. Most of these instances are DPS checks, SMN is extremely bad at clearing things swiftly especially since bane is limited. Thats the drawback, its damage over time. Most things in this game have to be killed swifty and SMN just doesn't stack up to other classes when it comes to that. Overall the only thing a SMN has over BLM is swiftcast raise but Flare, Sleep, and pretty much infinite mana trumps it. People use to hype SMN for single target but honestly ive done more damage at a faster rate as a BLM than I ever did as a SMN. SMN just can't compete with Firestarter and thunder procs. They're a game changer and guranteed to consistantly do over 1k damage. If there's a SMN in the turn 4 party I always kill my soldier first.
Kelly Stuart And then on the other hand, a streak of bad luck with no procs and you're suddenly garbo dps because all you're doing is spamming your ultra basic rotation for minimal dps... and even if you pop your cool downs so you can double or even triple cast flare, thats a once every 2-5 minutes things. Not to mention any portions of a fight which require movement you will be doing almost no DPS unless Thundercloud procs or you're spamming scathe. BLM aren't bad, but they aren't "the clear cut choice over summoner for every instance." Also lolsolocontent. Bragging about clearing solo content is like bragging about beating Barby Horse Racing adventure on easy mode :P
ThndrMge The only thing a SMN has over BLM is speed. All its damage is garbage compared to BLM. Even Scathe does more DPS than Ruin lol. I prefer a DRG in the group for AoE. SMN is far too slow and most people play SMNs retarded anyway. Most don't even use all the tools they have. Ive had one SMN who never used rouse or anything with the pet. Even with raging strikes on a SMN will not clear mobs faster than a BLM without raging strikes. People don't seem to understand a SMN NEEDS all dots up, and the pet to be able to even do half the damage the other DPS classes do at base. Thats why its a pet class. Its too much work on a SMN just to do equal damage the other classes do with ease. Its better to have other DPS in the roster since most don't know how to play a SMN. Movement is a non issue. There's a reason BLM has burst damage and SMN doesn't. BLM makes up for the loss of DPS during movement by its heavy hits. A BLM will do as much damage if not more in the 5 secs it takes for a SMNs dot to tick. As my BLM I often took a larger sum of health down from an enemy in the time it took a SMNs dots to take a little inch off lol
Kelly Stuart A SMN who is playing properly can easily keep up or surpass every other DPS on most fights, minus fights like Turn 8 where the Monk/Dragoon/BLM can have 100% uptime on the boss regardless of mechanics, or Turn 4 where higher AoE numbers means the most. The difficulty is that being a good SMN is more difficult than being good at most other jobs in the game.
Mrhappy1227 SMNs have been hyped ever since they've been released and i'm sorry i'm just not seeing the evidence. We have pretty decent SMNs in my FC yet all of them left in the dust by even a weaker geared BLM. Again I started out as a SMN and played as one all the way up to animus and was able to even compete with MNKs. So I was pretty good, but even my lower geared BLM was destroying NPCs at much faster pace than my SMN. Its a dot class and a pet class it will never be on the same level as other classes who require neither to output high damage. Perhaps if it had SOME burst damage. SMN being my first class was my fav but it was an ignorant bias, when I started on my BLM and got it up to animus I never went back. Even its greatest AoE asset Bane pales in comparison to Flare. It eats enemies at slow pace and its limited to 4 at a time. People constantly bring up having to move, but that doesn't stop a good BLM because they already have tools to overcome moving. They hit hard to make up for moving and on top of that have two abilities that can eat the strongest attacks a boss can dish out. The best a SMN can output at a fast space is with fester, a move limited by 3 uses until cd. Meanwhile a BLM gets procs every other moment of fire sometimes 3-4 times in a row each time doing over 1800 + that plus thunder procs doing equal damage, festers can't keep up. I think SMN has the best chance of surpassing a BLM or MNK in a battle with a lot of ridiculous heavy mechanics but outside of that single target MNK/BLM should be on top.
O.o! Wow Mrhappy you guys are making this fight harder than it needs to lol. Kill the Soldier and the Knights in Phase 5. Burn the Dreadnaught to 75% Then have a BLM or Bard kite the Rook while ur dps nukes it. Then kill the Soldier/knights then the 1 Dreadnaught (Or Vice Versa). Then Stack up for emergency and nuke boss. GG.
Hey, does anyone know how to move the squares separately from the hotbars on PC? I would actually like to have some hotbar arrangement kinda similar of Mister Happy's, but can't seem to find a way yet and most people I know play through PS3/PS4. Anyone can tell me how to do it on PC?
Jeiser Humagagua You can't. Mr. Happy has a layout option that hides unused squares. If you look carefully, You'll see that his icon are still mapped to hotbars (You can see the hotbar numbers). I can't remember offhand where the setting to hide unused hotbar squares is, though.
He's got hotbars 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, and 10 active. In the hud layout area, only the first to hotbars are active. You can resize them by selecting them and pressing ctrl+home, and move them around by clicking them and dragging them. Also, to hide or unhide HUD items (such as hotbars 3-10), right click them. Hope this helps.
Well, I found this out some time ago, but I really appreciate your help, I'm glad to see that at least someone reading the comments cared about my question xD
Thanks for the video. My FC is actually working on turn 4 (We actually made it here last week (first week we started BC)). Hoping to have Turn 4 and Turn 5 down by the end of this week because turn 5 is a cakewalk right.....RIGHT!?
May i make a request? for future videos, could you have whoever's recording the footage turn their spell and ability effects off, or at least down? it's very difficult to see what's going on terms of positioning with a million fire/ice/etc effects constantly going off.
Just want everyone to know that if you have the person tanking pox run behind the rook while he is casting it, it doesnt finish and they dont get poxed!
***** yep. FFXIV ruses A LOT of art assets from previous games. crocodiles are the models used in XII, the clockworks soldiers, knights, and dreadnoughts are all from 13, the spiders are from 12 and i think 13. hell, even the paladin's standing sword-drawn animation is recycled from Tidus' in-battle animation from FFX.
Just btw, Bane isn't that good on the starting spiders. You're only going to hit 4 out of the 6. Shadowflare however is useful for the slow, more than the damage, and is worth bringing a SCH for. SMN is actually not useful over BLM in any fight currently.

EDIT: Not T3, this is T4.*
Oh my god, chaos. This looks like it'll be really helpful for my FC to tackle turn 4 tonight. Thanks a ton!
Love your video's Mr Happy, love that you don't show overgeared people but still make it look easy, and you are so good at explaining things.
Another great guide Happy and I'll be glad to also place this on my blog for several of my friends to read and watch.
Wow, that was really excellent play by your healers at the end, the SCH in particular. Very impressive.
Taking my FC of new players to the game through these at min ilvl. Just wanted to thank you for these guides as i forgot a lot of these mechanics. Think we're going to try feeding and just make the healers adjust ;)
Great guide! My FC is up to Turn 4 and we struggle with phase 5&6. Execution on Turn 4 is so crucial to getting through it.

Awesome Vid man thank you, you saved my FC were pros now!! keep theses vids coming
Cleared this last night. Turn 5 felt easier to adjust to since there wasn't a dps requirement.
Good luck errybody beating turn 4.
he said dots applied through the skill Bane, which isnt the dot being cast directly from summoner to enemy, but spread from the other enemy to the nearby ones. IDK if that makes a difference, but it might be why.
Nice throwbacks to XIII. Pulsework Soldiers, Knights and the Dreadnought are all in this game as Clockwork :P
they only have 4 legs, they are not spiders. great video!
ps. i will continue calling them spiders
Joe Garcia Was thinking the same thing, lol. It was a great video though
@2:08 This is incorrect. SMN does take damage from using Bane to DOT the knights.
much appreciated on the info. ty

Yeah i agree lol. I turn that junk off from the get go.
now U lallafell again XD? good vid man. You are great and always explaining it clearly
Hey Mr Happy what kind of food do you recommend for Bard? Just wondering hopefully you respond to this.
For bard Food i use HQ DEVILED EGGS, +24 Crit , +14 vit , +10 accuracy
Does anyone know if one ill punch will nullify the stoneskin buff of the clockwork
Just want everyone to know that if you have the person tanking pox run behind the rook while he is casting it, it doesnt finish and they dont get poxed!
They're not spiders, they're are Mimics from XII :P
can you do a turn 3-4 run using a warrior? really would like to see that since i play a warrior myself
DRG is more durable than MNK? Even with fists of earth?
Thanks Mr. Happy! One thing, the master volume on this video is extremely low :(
Very informative!
Totally unrelated, but ive bn tryn to add mega potion of dex hq, to a macro but for the life of me it wont execute. Ne ideas or commands?
awesome, hell I could tank one of the mobs w/ my mnk currently.
Mr.Happy, your voice in all of the the videos are very soft.
good job on the video
hey mr happy bane does reflect
Love your vids man but lets be honest FACT: Spiders have 8 legs :)
Gamer Fact: anything that looks like a spider is a spider... :)
thanks for the video will help a lot :)
So, turn 4....also known as the FF13 turn.
all of them I believe. Havent watched this video since last month, but ya.
***** yep. oh ya, I know. But hey, its all Square enix materiel, so hell why not? I just thought it was funny to see an entire dungeon fashioned around it.
Mrhappy did anyone finish the 5. turn yet?
Great video, however the Audio is *extremely* quiet. I do hope this is taken on board.
You sound like Remotay, Mr. Any relation?
Just btw, Bane isn't that good on the starting spiders. You're only going to hit 4 out of the 6. Shadowflare however is useful for the slow, more than the damage, and is worth bringing a SCH for. SMN is actually not useful over BLM in any fight currently.
Saying that a summoners dots will not be reflected back is false. The dots full damage will be reflected back instantly.
Man this tactic should also require Benny Hill theme music.
Where is the guide for turn 3?
Wow my group has been stuck at turn 4 for a month.. we can one shot turn 1 and 2 but not this...
Holy Cow! Can you talk any faster?! lol
Where's turn 3?
u have no mobs (and no lot) in T3
I think you mean Savage Blade not Riot Blade : P
10:30 Poor Eos ;(
lol, looks like the warrior got demoted
how the fuck does he keep changing races? would someone please tell me, please.
Btw, Succor is pronounced Suck-urr not Soo-core.
man i was playing tarutaru got way bored since they looked so ugly changed to a mithra :P
Where the hell is turn 3!? ;-;
Check my channel and watch the turn 4 video, you will see how we clear it.
4 legs, clearly not spiders.
This is no longer possible to do with darklight
You can, th-cam.com/video/JBxH7ASBw6k/w-d-xo.html here is me and my FC doing T4. im OT as WAR.
I can't hear shit. I had to mute everything else and turn this shit up.
BAD CUT AT END! BURN HIM!
¬¬
As a blm I am totally looking forward to this fight...not. Haha
this is a poorly executed turn 4 kill with a terrible strat, should have not made this into a "guide".
