At the very least, if you don't have enough DPS to change Twintania to her final phase before she brings in a dreadknight, it's not doable. You're stunned when the dreadknight is spawned so it will just walk to you and then you'll die. I've tried soloing it as a BLU lvel 60 and turn 1-4 were easy, but Twintania requires a ton more of DPS to change her phase fast enough, so she requires well more level.
These guides are so, so helpful! I've never had a team patient enough to let me practice this content with them, so it's so cool getting to do it solo. Your guides have been really valuable and any others would be SO welcome lol

I'm really looking forward to going through the binding coil, never got to the final coil back in the day and refused to watch the cutscenes on youtube. Keep up the great work!

This doesn't help me. When I solo her down to the point where she casts Tornado, those dreadknight enemies spawn and no matter how far away I am from them, she encases my character in some red prison and the moment they touch me I instantly die.
same for me. i am currently still heavensward, so my highest gear is lvl 60 shire gear (item level 270), and i cant solo her cuz of those dreadknights (tried only as warrior so far)
How do you counter her stun? Had no problem on level 70 MNK until the part where she stuns me and I don't even have the chance to kill the Dreadknight before it oneshots me.

I really appreciate these guides to get a general idea of this Raid and what to expect. Is there any, fairly recently, synced guides out there? I think I'd enjoy these fights more that way with a team, though, I know the older guides are a bit dated due to changes over the past 5+yrs.
If you're doing it synced then it really doesn't matter if the guide is recent or not because you won't be able to skip mechanics. Try taking a look at MTQ Capture. She's got guides for everything going right back to ARR.
Wait, you can attack the dreadknight that's coming to one-shot you? I thought you couldn't and so that made it unsoloable unless you have enough dps to skip that part.
It's been like this for awhile. I was soloing this for the crafting items back when I was 70, so it's been at least that long. I had always gone in with a group in the 50s/60s days when we handled it as intended.
I did this back in the day legit came back recently a little sad to know this content is so old the msq skips alot of old raids but don't blame the devs.
This is still soloable. You just need to keep moving during Twisters or you will die from the one that spawns under you. You can also see them on the ground so if you also need to watch where you are running or...well...kaboom!

I tried to use duty finder while on free trial 3 times for 30 minutes each but now I think I'll wait till I can do it solo whenever I get the full game

What level are you going in on? At 80 death sentence barely scratches me. Just ran it again a couple times to confirm and neither death sentence nor the debuff it gives caused any significant damage. Twister and divebombs are the only big threats at 80 that I can find.

Raiders and Content creators should promote this content synced much more, the housing items available from Coil are still some of the best, but now so rare they go for like 5 million gil.
I am 80 dragon with 510 gear exarch will do this solo for story extra lore. 7 weeks been playing ff14 so new player. My msq all clear and ready for end walker. Will take some nice screenshots in coils of bahamut. Any cool minions or mounts that drop here. Need to unlock lot of side content yesterday I unlocked 4 arr dungeons 2 from heavenward. Lvl 60 I can solo not super easy but I can do it. I tried lvl 70 challenging kill Yotsyuju primal 7% hp I took before I died solo lol. Was for fun
No minions or mounts drop from the Coils, however you do get a minion after you complete the questline as a achievement award. But coil has some amazing glams and drop items you can use to make dyable versions of them. Not to mention the incredible story.
idk about titles, but you do get the loot. There is at least 1 crafting item you cannot get from turn 13 unless you go in synced, but otherwise you should still get everything like weapons, armors, and other crafting items.
@@AlleroseActual oh yes that shouldn't be much of a problem at all. I could solo these at 70 on rdm. It may take some practice of course. But you should definitely be able to do it
I honestly have not done this in the 60s since heavensward. But I will say, possibly if you have someone who can heal too. Some of the turns would be very difficult without heals and you may see additional mechanics that are not covered here since they are normally skipped. But they are easily solod on some jobs at 70, so no reason not to give it a try! If you do it, let me know.
I can't understand how people know what to do when enter these dungeons for the first time specially with crystal tower. Is there something I'm not reading?
Some of the telegraphed mechanics we have seen many times before so we know how to handle them. SE uses the same markers for similar mechanics. Like the stack marker is always the same, as is the turn away and the run away markers. So if you run a lot of dungeons or raids, reacting to them becomes second nature. Outside of that even us most seasoned players still need to learn something new. For instance, I died so many times my first run of Delubrum Reginae, I lost count (and a whole lot of mettle lol). But that is also why I do these sort of videos. Just because I know the mechanics well, doesn't mean everyone does, so I try to help. Like the song says "look to those who walked before, to lead those who walk after" :)
Once you finish the 1st main quest, go back to your old HQ at Vesper Bay and talk to people there. You'll have to fight hard versions of primals first before unlocking the raid quest
To add to what Erroratu said, you speak to Urianger at the Waking Sands and he will give you a quest called "primal awakenings", which will unlock this raid series. It should unlock after 2.0 msq "The Ultimate Weapon" and the ifrit, garuda and titan hard modes are completed.
First you need to unlock and complete hard ifrit,garuda and titan which you can get from talking to thancred papalymo and ysholta respectively, after that a series of quest by urianger will appear, primal awakening is what you looking for,hope this helps

Playing on min iLvl doesn't change the mechanics, it just means that you can't cheese it by being over geared. It's exactly the same as when the raid came out, which makes every guide viable with the exception of solo guides. There's no way that you didn't come across one before you saw this video. Gotta get that flex in, right? Even though it's meaningless on account of the fact that anyone who's been around for more than 5 minutes has already done it.
Just came here to confirm for those wondering: even after the stat squish of patch 6.0 this is still possible to solo.

Great video! I was never able to do coils on the first came out due to school but now that I'm back in the game I want to solo it

It will certainly be more challenging and you may need a couple more ppl to finish it, but its definitely doable.

You can do it at 50 if you have a party. But there will be significantly more mechanics.

Maybe a few of thee easier turns, but twintania will still eat you alive most likely.
