As a fan of the Mega Man X series, I am thoroughly impressed with the way you handled this. This is WAY better than the explanation for how these guys came back in the Maverick Hunter X PSP remake where Sigma just took their spare bodies and crammed a dummy AI in it and gave them orders to fight X in the fortress.

The dummy AI is what makes the maverick agency more frightening. If all you have to do is disobey one subroutine of programming, you have infinite ways to coerce every reploid in existence X may have inhabited their power, but it's a choice to have to put them down for having even the slightest inkling for independence. This is actually the premise of the matrix films. You give a machine the capacity to reason, design it for a rote purpose like reading a parking meter, dispose of it when it gets jambed on the terse terrain I mean look at what was going on in Nicodemus time. Lames and blind people were discounted as invalids, or that IF they happened to find themselves in wary situations, it was because their parents had sinned I digress. My point is if all Sigma needs to do to feel powerful is to tap into that irregular frequency but once, then he can have an army at his back which bear no soul, disregarding the splendor of their primary design and instead using it for might and military conquest. If all he needs is a shell, just remove the soul and replicate them ad infinitum

Honestly to me it feels like, X SHOULD have comfimed the kill. Because leaving them in that state between life and death seems lile a fate worse than death
@@RexMK- Canonically, he does kill them. Say what you will, but X is still something of a soldier (the Maverick Wars aren't called "wars" for no resson). X and Zero basically kill most of not all of the major Reploid bosses they fight in the series. But with fan stories, you can clearly take liberties with the extent of their destruction. So it be what it be.

Either X would have tried capture the Maverick leaders or capture them, not just leave them in that poor state. (To me he would see abandoning someone in that state as the opossite of mercy) Hence my argument, what I interpretated here in this series is that X, intended to kill the Maverick Bosses in combat, but he understated their durability, or he SHOULD REALLY Confirmed his kill of them. I still enjoy the animations for what they are tought.
I love this. It makes the Maverick virus feel more like something sinister that fundamentally changes the people who it infects and the way they work, and not just a way to indoctrinate new bosses. I mean, the X1 bosses used to be Maverick hunters after all. And all these animations clearly come after their first defeats, like their armor rotted away and only left their frames

This is the Spark Mandrill that I pictured. I didn’t like how he was portrayed as a dumb ape in Maverick Hunter X. He is a terrifying monstrous machine.
I love seeing the progression of your series, not just in terms of the style but also how in depth and how particular you have become to details, the little ones really count. For example, the expressiveness of the Mavericks and their facial structures, still having the cartoon-y element in Launch’s eyes all the way to Spark’s, and the way you set the mood in each is truly amazing!
Spark Mandrill was the very first X boss I beat. He’s what got me interested in my dad’s work and led me to wanting to be the electrician I am now. This animation is sic and really shows the power of the maverick hunters and their terror yet somehow stayed completely true to form of the OG character models. Flawless work bro, keep it up.

I actually only found out about FNAF in the comments to this video. There is no inspiration from that franchise here whatsoever. They're not the first ones to make animal robots. And as MMX has those as a core concept, it's an obvious similarity.

Yeah. Im gonna post this on all 5 videos. For the algorithm. Look, I grew up with the life cycle of computer animation from birth until where it is now. And i'll probably get some eye-rolls, and what im saying might not be technically correct, whatever. But I think you might be the most talented animator, story director, content creator on the planet. Of all time. The actual GOAT. Your eye for visual framing, direction, atmosphere, and mentioning nothing of your raw talent in creating this, is once-in-a-generation. Bravo doesn't sum it up.
Just started catching these... Well done! Now I need to see an fps hybrid MegaMan X with some Sigma fueled souls level of gameplay. You have no idea how strong a project like that would be.
This was a metaphor for the psychosis going maverick instills. The reactor breaking when he started attacking the door was because he was actually tearing the reactor open. There was no long limping trek along a gangway to the reactor, that was the last vestiges of his sanity trying to stop what he was doing and ultimately failing.
I'm loving this series. It kinda shows how these guys come back at the end of the game when you have to face off against them one after another before the final boss fight. I know it would take a ton of work but it would make my mind melt if we could see a final show down b/w X and all the mavericks after they've all come back for vengeance.
So, that was an inspiration for their resurrection, but I believe that in the game lore, the second confrontation is just an empty copy of them with basic functions. I won't go for that. And what will happen in the finale, I can't spoil. But many wish for some form of confrontation and I will definitely have something like that ;)
After all eight there will be some final episodes where all stories come together. I can already reveal that X will be there. But not more at this point. I'm still developing the story 😉
How am I just now seeing this a year later. Man the youtube algorithm sure sucks. I am a megaman X fan and I am just now running through all your shorts and all I have to say is this is amazing work. You really captured the look and feel I have always wanted this franchise to have.
Capcom should hire him but the contract should give no limitations to creative works and give full access to all licensed mega man and mega man x assets. He would make a legendary reboot of X that would be true justice.
THese videos are so amazing and each one is better than the last, I could imagine this all taking place after X destroy each of them but now the Mavericks will bundle together to a final gaunlet against X before his fight against Sigma.
Yep, that way a major goal for that episode to play around more with interesting angles and with lighting. I have always a goal for each one. To learn a specific thing. And that was for that. Glad it worked 🙂
Yeah that was something I only realised after being done and showing it to friends. That the story is a bit ambiguous 😁 You can see it both ways: - he saw the reactor acting up and used that chance to charge himself, with no danger to the whole power plant. - he wanted to save the power plant and with that sacrifice himself for his area and all creatures living there. Either way, I think it works. Which was my original idea, I won't tell though 😜

But the X1 Mavericks were never effected by the Virus. All of them joined Sigma willingly, with Eagle doing it reluctantly.

Spark Mandrill was the very first X boss I beat. He’s what got me interested in my dad’s work and led me to wanting to be the electrician I am now. This animation is sic and really shows the power of the maverick hunters and their terror yet somehow stayed completely true to form of the OG character models. Flawless work bro, keep it up.

Look, I grew up with the life cycle of computer animation from birth until where it is now. And i'll probably get some eye-rolls, and what im saying might not be technically correct, whatever. But I think you might be the most talented animator, story director, content creator on the planet. Of all time. The actual GOAT. Your eye for visual framing, direction, atmosphere, and mentioning nothing of your raw talent in creating this, is once-in-a-generation. Bravo doesn't sum it up.
Just started catching these... Well done! Now I need to see an fps hybrid MegaMan X with some Sigma fueled souls level of gameplay. You have no idea how strong a project like that would be.
This was a metaphor for the psychosis going maverick instills.
The reactor breaking when he started attacking the door was because he was actually tearing the reactor open. There was no long limping trek along a gangway to the reactor, that was the last vestiges of his sanity trying to stop what he was doing and ultimately failing.
That was definitely not what I intended 😁
But I like this interpretation so much, you can consider it now canon 😉

I'm loving this series. It kinda shows how these guys come back at the end of the game when you have to face off against them one after another before the final boss fight. I know it would take a ton of work but it would make my mind melt if we could see a final show down b/w X and all the mavericks after they've all come back for vengeance.
So, that was an inspiration for their resurrection, but I believe that in the game lore, the second confrontation is just an empty copy of them with basic functions. I won't go for that.
And what will happen in the finale, I can't spoil. But many wish for some form of confrontation and I will definitely have something like that ;)

Did he just stop that reactor from exploding? And if so, was that on purpose or was it just a side effect of him trying to recharge himself?
Yeah that was something I only realised after being done and showing it to friends. That the story is a bit ambiguous 😁
You can see it both ways:
- he saw the reactor acting up and used that chance to charge himself, with no danger to the whole power plant.
- he wanted to save the power plant and with that sacrifice himself for his area and all creatures living there.
Either way, I think it works. Which was my original idea, I won't tell though 😜
