Range Rover fuel pump

So I've been having an issue for the past two years where the Rover wouldn't start. But then after letting it rest for about a half hour or so it would fire right up.
I was told it could be a fuel pump issue. So the next time it didn't start I folded the rear seats up and pounded on the carpet where the fuel pump is located. It fired right up. I couldn't understand how that would work, but it did. That is until it didn't. Thinking the pump went out I opened up the access panel and after unplugging the power supply found burned/melted plastic. Turns out the main power supply for the fuel pump was loose and caused and arc burn.
At the time of this video (4/2016) to replace the top potion of the fuel pump is $155 through BPUtah.com (British Parts Of Utah). I am having trouble finding a replacement connector, but was told just to solder and heat shrink. That will insure no more loose connections.
The 2006 RR L322 has been a great vehicle, fun to drive and user friendly. Besides some minor repairs over the last three years it still feel and drives like a new Rover.
I will be getting another in the future.

Hey Jason! So I am having this same exact issue. I did purchase the new top part. I've been searching for the wiring harness but have had no luck. I wanted to know if you connected it directly and how that worked out. ??
I have a range rover l322 3.0 diesel 2006 and I have just renewed my fuel filter and in tank fuel pump the car starts and has power but after a few miles the car losses power, what could be the fault?
Hi dear please o have a v8 hse 2006 and I think that my problem can be clean injectors, when start is ok work immediately, the slow running is perfect! 1000 rpm like a clock! The air filter is a new k&n! But when put foot fast the engine failure but if I step throttle slowing is good and the rpm is normal!
Please help me I don't know what to do more!
