  • This walk takes in the single Munro Stob Ban which sits at the head of Glen Nevis, just south of the Grey Corries. Starting from Corriechoille the route follows a good track into Lairig Leach bothy before taking to the height.
    The weather wasn't quite as expected so we changed plans just to make do with the single.

    Very nice. Shots as you descended were excellent. The bothy has an excellent location doesn’t it. Just passed it as you did. Gordon

    Its a nice wee dander to the top but i hated going down the other side to get to the second munro , did the big circiut last year and finished with the sole of my boot hanging off, luckily i had another pair of boots in the car , and as usual i have a story to tell about this walk , great vid , cheers

    Nice video Charlie, Im thinking of doing this when up that way early December. Looks a decent walk in before you gain height. 5.25 hours for you so that means prob 6.5 hours for me. LOL.

    Nice wee contrast between the top and bottom Charlie! Good to see a wee bit of snow! I'm going out this weekend regardless of the weather! Missed my walk last weekend and I now have withdrawal symptoms! 😅

      Hi Paul, The cabin fever gets you like that and you convince yourself that the forecast is better than you think. Picking the right top for the conditions will many it a bit easier. Enjoy your trip... Cheers, Charlie

    Lovely video gents, thank you. I have not yet been on the Grey Corries, but I have that delight to come. I was surprised with the depth of the snow leading to, and on the summit. Almost crampons depth I imagine, particularly for the descent? Nice walk in and out too. Thank you again.

      Hi Jonathan, You'll enjoy the Grey Corries once you gat around to then as its a super ridge with multiply tops all around. The tops are getting cooler now and the winter gear will need to be packed if the temps remain low. All good stuff...Cheers, Charlie

      Hi Geoffrey, Yes, the tops are getting ready to hold onto the snow. The winter gear is going to be needed if this colder spell continues. All good stuff. Cheers, Charlie

    Amazing contrast between the foot and the top. It’s been so mild in Edinburgh that you hardly think of the snow but it certainly made for an atmospheric summit. It’s a fantastic area there. All the best Murdo

    I can't find the car park on Google maps, where exactly can you park? Do u drive past the corriechille cabins?

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Matthew, Yes, continue past the cabins and drive 2km south on a rough track up towards the woods. It's near the dismantled railway at NN256787. Cheers Charlie

      @Charlie McCartney OK thankyou, it's completely allowed yo drive up the track? I don't need to ask permission or anything?

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewboothman129 No, not required. There are a couple of areas to park but the top one is about 250m from the wood. Just take your time on the road driving up 👍
