I may have had tough old feathers but I found if you run a blunt object ( I used the handle of my scissors) to squash "boney part/rachis/calamus" of the feather it was easier to handle/wrap it. I'd simply "squash it which made it more pliable when wrapping. I like the fly. Thanks for sharing
Yea we have tied the Bone Collector with mono eyes sometimes. you can tie in lead eyes or tungsten. Just depends on what look and weight you're going for and need.
Hey Christian - yea for sure... the back is Predator Fibers... the legs are Silicone Micro Legs... Silver Bead Chain Eyes... the dubbing around the eyes is Arizona Simi Seal in Canadian Orange... the body is Rainbow Scud Dubbing in the darker color... and the feather is Wood Duck Flank Feathers... and I usually use pink Nano Silk for the thread
