  • Detailed instructions for tying Koga''s Bonefish Shrimp.
    Hook: Gamakatsu SL11-3H, sizes 6-8.
    Thread 1: 6/0 or 140 Denier, tan.
    Eyes: Bead chain, medium, gold.
    Thread 2: 8/0 or 70 Denier, pink.
    Head: Early Girl McFly Foam.
    Legs: Tan Loco Legs.
    Eyes: Mono eyes, black.
    Antennae: Barred Clear Senyo’s Barred Predator Wrap.
    Body: Pearl Flat Diamond Braid.
    Carapace/Abdomen: Natural Coyote Premium Wing Fur.
    Overwing: Arctic fox black-tipped guard hairs.
    Flash: Krystal Flash, bonefish tan.

    What is the point of the bead chain - what does that represent? Could the body just be weighted under the wrap instead?

      The bead chain does represent eyes and acts as a pivot point around which the fly moves. They are also about the perfect weight for most bonefish flies.
