Hi. Loving your bike, what a sound, gear driven cam music. I have a 2001 5th gen VFR 800, which I’m really enjoying. Bought to supplement a modern 1200 GS but ended up replacing it. I’m 6 foot tall, I’ve modified the riding position to suit me with a simple bar rising kit and a peg lowering kit. These changes were both cheap and easy to fit. The difference in comfort is night and day, can’t recommend these simple modifications enough. Clearly small modifications in this area make a completely disproportionate difference, much more than I would have imagined. No more sore neck, or cramping legs on long runs. I’ve supplemented these modifications with a slightly taller screen with a laminar lip. Again this is a huge improvement, much quieter at speed and more comfortable for a passenger. I feel these modifications have made the bike entirely viable against modern equivalents that tend to come with more accommodating riding positions. It’s a singular joy to experience perhaps the peek of Honda engineering excellence in such comfort. As you say the joy/£ is off the scale. Happy riding!
I bought a 1990 VFR750 this summer and rode it from Toronto to Halifax Nova Scotia, over 1700 kilometres. Took it to the Rockies in western Canada and had several 700-800 km days. Sometimes age is just a number.
My back yard and some of my favourite roads, I can often be seen around here on my VFR800/Africa Twin. Potholes are getting worse and worse, and extremely hazardous for motorcyclists. Nice video, thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
2002 6th gen going strong creeping up to 102k miles on the odo. Its been everywhere in the uk and Scotland. It has hit every animal you could expect to run out on a British road except a fox. Don't worry that viffer of yours has got plenty of life

Did about 400 miles on an RC36II once. Great bike to be on for that ride. Only downside for me was the windshield. It channeled the wind right over my visor. Even with fitted buds the thundering wind was exhausting, at 50 miles and up. Changed that one out for an MDI Touring Smoke, with a little flip up, real quick. Bliss 😇 Damn, i miss that bike.
Well importantly the 4th gen VFR750 is the looker, bar none. Although the 5th generation VFR800FI has the obvious advantage of shedding well over that magic 10kg. And std shorter wheel base, ECT ECT. A stunning machine nevertheless 😮 cheers.

It's a really tricky balance between the engine sound and voice, i did try to include just engine sound on some clips. I'll include more on future videos. Thanks for your feedback Andrew, much appreciated.
It's fine .até...I used ro ride from Lisbon to Jerez la frontera ...its more than 300 miles and was completely fine if you stop at least 2 times on the way...
She’s a mile muncher …I did the Snowdonia 360 in a day with a mate on a VStrom . We covered just over 400 that day in 10.5 hours. Great bike for distance. Cheap speed - as you say will do everything a GS will do for less than 10% of the price. Was in Loomies with mine last weekend.
I’m probably spamming every VFR YT video as I have just added a white 1991 VFR750 to my collection.. it’s all original with 14k miles. My only previous V4 engine experience was my first big bike that I had after passing my test in ‘89.. a VF400F. I loved that bike, all I remember was it was torquey (for a 400cc) and growly sounding 😄 So I’m looking forward to riding this bike….once it stops raining of course 💁🏻♂️🌧️

We covered Petersfield & up to Hindhead, Surrey border. I spent many a nice evening at the 7 stars pub as well.. Good days Ride safe 👍🏼 *And went to school in Midhurst (Grammar school).. nice to see my old stamping grounds again 😊
did 1100 miles over 4 days to the dales and lake district, was nice but not gna lie I was broken when I got back lol, the 8th gen is so aggressive, its like riding a sportsbike
Successive days are tough on any bike if you're not conditioned to it. I did a similar ride from Pembrokeshire to Skye and back on my BMW, I was shattered too when I got home 😃
VFR 750 and vfr 800 are still cracking bikes i have myself one same as yours and a 88fj model 750 both bikes are minters and keepers had both off mine a long time these are good as a modern bike value for money and well built why pay 18k for a new one when these are just as good ft a volt meter keep tab on your charging.
@@blueyondermoto yeah vfrs are prone to charging problems take your right hand side fairing panal there is 3 yellow wires from stator those fittings rot this gives bad charging i cut mine off and hard wired them . On the rectifier you are best wiring it direct to the battery done mine on both of the 750 models a volt meter is a must its a piece off mind even fitted one on the 1200f. You should have a good 14.3 volts to 14.5 volts with lights on when riding if you need any info just message me will guide you in the wright direction i am a hgv mechanic so do all my own repairs and servicing enjoy the v4 honda ride safe bud.
Bought one a few years back with 28,000 on the clock. By the end of the first month she had over 31,000. They’re totally fine to run in if they’re not leaking haha
These bikes are built exactly for this. 300 miles is nothing. Take a little break at 170/190 miles for fuel and then off again. All day, every day. The engineering in this model in particular will see you right. You will rarely find a better put together machine...

There are some great circuits to be ridden around East and West Sussex.
I have an 04 800, and I love it. And I'm older then you. Going for a long ride tomorrow. Riding motorcycles keeps you young. Peace.

I have a Givi shield and the x-tra on top. I cruise triple digits all the time, no problem. Also ABM straight bar.

1991 RC36-1 .... did 108.000km thats 67.000 miles. Sold but looking for a 800 Fi now :)

I have VFR 800 Fi and it has green turn indicator indicators as it should be.
Earlier models were all yellow turn on the dash. Green? Not sure yellow easy to see imo.
Did almost double that one way.

True, I have a 97 model put a new back shocker on , I just can't part with it.
300 miles easy peasy on a viffer. I rode to the South of Spain on mine in 2 days.
