- Is it the fresh baked bread? The "juice"? Or the three. Kinds. Of mustard? Whatever magic Jersey Mike's is putting into its sandwiches, one thing's for sure: they really are a "sub above" the rest.

What do you order at Jersey Mike's?
My rave fav is the philly cheesesteak. But that is just of the great subs I order.
i'm stuck on the italian sub. my g/f is hooked on the cheese bacon ranch. i live two blocks away from jersey mikes. 😉
The club sub with no onions, add cherry peppers on white bread.
#13 The Original Italian, Mike’s Way on Rosemary Parm. Occasionally I’ll get the #12 Cancro Special which is roast beef and pepperoni, also Mike’s Way on RP.
Italian or tuna. But you really can’t go wrong with anything there.
The Italian with banana peppers is absolutely unbeatable!!
I love Jersey Mikes. My grandfather mentioned one was coming to town and he heard it was good, I was amazed when I ordered the buffalo chicken and saw the worker slice a chicken breast in half and throw it on the grill. Been a fan ever since.
There is a sub shop in Freehold NJ called Sorrentos it has been there forever. My family grew up up on those. They are the standard by which we judge our subs. I live far away from Jersey now and Jersey Mikes is as close as you can get to that memory.
We had a "hole in the wall" sub shop called Tropical Treat in Dublin MD. They had the best subs, but their secret was the super soft sub rolls they bought from Schmidt's bakery. They are history now, and I have never found any sub place with sub rolls as soft. Why do all the sub shops use hard and crusty sub rolls? You could hurt someone if you hit them with a Subway sub roll.
A family member use to work there & I would only have her make it bc she would follow the hygiene process & she made sure they're were no cross contamination.Haldeon NJ store a bunch of kids fooling around etc

Agree. I grew up in Jersey and moved to California 50 years ago. Was so excited when a Jersey Mikes showed up in town. Love the juice. My husband who has always lived in CA loves it too.
@@tedtamada yeah, coming from a Chicagoan, the food in CA was so horrible I’d be surprised if I ever lived there
Love jersey mikes
My favorite sandwich shop. #8 Mike's way and add jalapenos. YUM!!
Live jersey Mikes. Have often had their sandwiches at the original store in Jersey!!
I always get the #3 and GIANT size. Freaking love it.
I take pride in my work.
I enjoy making your sandwiches.
Some tasty things to try:
Buffalo Kahuna: your choice of meat (steak or chicken) cooked in Frank's Red Hot.
The 99: Big Kahuna with chipotle mayo.
Mix ranch and chipotle mayo, it's a very tasty combo on any sandwich.
Philly in a wrap with avocado and CPR mixed: the cherry pepper relish mixed with fresh avocado is a very tasty guacamole style spread.
Your hot sub veggies cooked with oregano.
Sweet peppers on your veggie.
As long as you are patient there's a million ways to make your sandwich your own.
The ultimate is rosemary parm bread, light oil, light salt, mayo or chip mayo or ranch to act as butter with an oregano dusting and a tiny bit more salt. Fry that on the grill and you have Texas Toast on steroids.
Thanks to our customers, you guys keep the lights on and food on the table. The least I can do is give you the tastiest sandwich you've ever had.
You would probably hate me. I'm... particular. I am eating a Jersey Mike's Club Sub right now. I get the giant sub Mike's way (almost) on white (can make multiple meals from it), double meat (JM is a little stingy with the meat on their regular Club Sub), no oil (adds no taste, makes the sub soggy), select the vinegar and extra mayo, and finally, put the tomatoes on LAST (this is important, as "the juice" hits the tomatoes and pours off the sides of the sub. Adding the tomatoes last means keeping more of "the juice" on the sub). Add the spices - perfection. It costs about 25.00, but it's worth it.
@TerryKitts I have 3 regulars that order very similar. It's not a problem at all. Paying a lot, you should get it EXACTLY the way you want it and flavor profile matters.
I like the juice under the tomatoes and the spice on top
@@gehnzou1 - Thank you. I don't feel so bad about my special order sub now.
@TerryKitts You shouldn't. It's expensive so it should be exactly how you want it. I've even cut tomatoes in half for customers.
I grew up down the street from the original Jersey Mikes in Pt. Pleasant,NJ. .we called them Hoagies then. They are just as good today as they were then. They are a bit pricey now,but when I want the taste of memories, I will pay for it at Jersey Mikes.👍♥️
I try to avoid fast food but Jersey Mike's is my guilty pleasure. I'm rarely disappointed. Brings back memories of my childhood in NJ.
Grew up in Brielle, right next to the original. Absolutely the best sub out there. I eat there once a week. Big, fulfilling sandwich.
They took Blimpie's game and went pro.
Gawd I wish I had a Jersey Mike’s near me. ): ALWAYS ask for extra pepper relish on the side to go, completely free!!!

No. Just no.
My favorite sub shop!
Mine too
I have never had a sandwich in Jersey Mike's that was inferior. Their sandwiches are so good, my lips fall off. My favorite now is the new #64 Grilled Portabella Mushrooms, grilled onions and swiss cheese. Omg, can it possibly get any better? I don't think so. What makes them so great is the consistency of their sandwiches, they're all good, they're all super fresh and there's a huge variety to choose from. People say they're pricey. Maybe so, but in this case you get what you pay for whereas other sandwich places, depending who makes the sandwich, it's not always great. Would I change anything ? Absolutely not, you can't improve on perfection.
Nobody else’s sandwiches come close. A GREAT SANDWICH
It's da juice
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Maybe you need to find a real Italian market or Kosher deli and eat a truly great sandwich.
You’ve obviously never had Laspadas. Jersey Mikes is ok by comparison.
Hahahahahahahaha ahahaha....😂😂😂
I hope you're being sarcastic. Their Italian sub is sub par. One of the worst I have had. Even Subway has better meat that actually has taste. Local sandwich shops I go to destroy Jersey Mike's
I love this place.
I live in an Italian neighborhood that has great sub shops on every corner! Along with great specialty items . If you want to fill your gut with this and be ready to take a nap after eating it go for it! If you want a great sub with quality fillings and a reasonable price and won’t make you feel like you ate 5 lb sinker ! Try a Jersey Mikes!
I used to eat Subway's sandwiches, which I no longer do. Having a sub sandwich from any place might satisfy anyone hungry but after eating the Jersey Mike's sandwiches, the customization of either Subway or Mike's might be something some customers key in on, but Jersey Mike's like my local Bale (Vietnamese Sandwich Shop) spoils me with having really good bread. I like fresh crusty bread for my sandwich, which Jersey Mike's provides. I don't even think I know what their other breads are or care. I've had a variety of sandwiches and whether, fresh, or a couple days in the fridge, if I zap one of Jersey Mike's sandwiches, it tastes as good as the fresh sandwich. I haven't even asked their staff to add or withhold any seasoning, dressing, or vegetable to it, I just know the sandwich will be satisfying, it it's with any meat or just plain vegetarian. It's darn better than Subway's, where the bread is soggy or crumbling in my fingers. Subway sandwiches are too thin and soft, that after the dressing/moisture from the vegetables, meat, it starts to disintegrate and leaves me with soggy fingers. Jersey Mike's bread, like a Bale sandwich is a thicker, crustier bread like French, while soft insider, outside is heartier and the moisture/juices of the vegetables/dressings/meat is absorbed by the heartier bread and marries into a tasteful pleasurable sandwich. I've had sub sandwiches in other cities/states, and the success sandwiches are from places that know what customers enjoy in their sandwiches that brings them back. Part is the filling, but the other part is the bread. No one likes a hefty sandwich with plenty of meat, if the bread crumbles before you can finish it.
4:11 “there isn’t any fruit in this particular juice” - then names olives (botanically a fruit) and red wine vinegar (from grapes) lol
Best national sub chain that ever existed.
It's Blimpie on steroids
I grew up on the east coast, where quality sandwiches were easy to find. Living in the upper Midwest now, Jersey Mikes is the only place you can get anything resembling a good sub.
If you ever get a 16" sub from Jersey Mike's, it's best to eat two pieces one day and save the other two pieces for the next day. That's what I did. 😄 My personal favorite is their turkey and provolone sub but their roast beef and turkey club subs are good too. I should try their Italian cold cut or hot subs someday.
When I go to a Jersey Mikes I am a Turkey Club Giant with just the juices (1 pass each) an spices with lettuce an bacon with the turkey an provolone cheese sub.
Only days I will go is Sunday & Monday as those are 2x pts days, I loved it when they did a 1 time deal, buy a sub on the app an you got 72 pts + the 24 pts from the order and it takes 144 pts for a Giant!~
i will not eat subway anymore since I had Jersey Mikes!~ The Juices help soften the bread, and having bacon ready vs needing to cook it is a timer saver for making a sub!~
I’ve been working for Jersey Mike’s for a few months now, and I’ve learned that most stores have their own secret menus
Wife and I love them!!!
Hell of alot better than subway
Every sub shop/deli is better than Subway.
The kids love Subway though, just like they love McDonalds.
That's not too hard to do, they literally have grade D meat😂
First! Love your Content!
They mention about gluten free bread? They make it? Which one? I've only seen gf bread from a different company in a package.
Theres a regional sub shop in central Illinois called Head West Subs. Their subs are the best.
As a Wisconsinite, Erberts and Gerberts always.
The value simply isn't there. $17 for a big/large sub and most of it is bread 🍞 and lettuce.
Quality assurance is where most eateries fail. They can't consistently make the product correct. Most of it is up to the employee making the food. And even they have off days. Solution: measure everything for consistency! 😳
I live on the west coast but grew up near Philly. The 13 Italian is like the hoagies I remember.
Do you remember La Spada? Originally from Chester PA? I'm not from up there but I used to eat at the one in South Florida. Best sandwich ever.
Bring a Jersey Mikes to San Angelo, Texas!
No 👎! What's made in Jersey stays in Jersey!!! 😳
So wait do they import New Jersey water nationally to bake the bread?
Like Quiznos but a corporate that has its shit together. Quality food, nice people.
The juice!
Love Jersey Mikes but i still go to Togo's because their mayo is quite possibly the best mayo on earth and gives its sandwiches a unique flavor.
Really wish i knew what supplier gives them that mayo or if they make it themselves the recipe , has a slight sweet flavor/aftertaste.
The secret is heavy mayonnaise. You can't buy it in a regular store, but restaurant supply companies have it (but only in commercial food service sizes). I have asked both Kraft and Helmann's to offer heavy mayonnaise in regular grocery store sizes, but they refused. Grocery stores offer every other type of mayo - regular, light, and canola, but not heavy mayonnaise. They are leaving profits on the table. Maybe Duke's or some other company could steal this market segment from Kraft and Helmann's.
@@TerryKitts yea but togo's mayo has a sweet hint flavor like they mix in sugar or honey or something else that has a sweetness to it , very unique
I worked at a togos from 1991-1993, I loved the dressing, it isn't actually mayo, it is a hybrid of like a mayo and miracle whip type thing, and also does not need to be refrigerated once opened.
It was a togos exclusive, and it sounds like it still is after being bought out a couple or few times. Back in the day it was its own company, MTC, I worked at a franchised store, and we were a touch better than the company owned store in our town.
Togos has gone down a notch or two since the really old days though
You might find a copycat recipe online that will be similar
Togo's used to be good in the late 70s I grew up on their Italian subs it's a far cry from what it used to be but Jersey Mike's Italian subs are terrible theres no flavor to their meats. Poor quality water saline solution injected.
Put the juice on before adding tomatoes. CATERING STYLE.
That way the juice stays in the sandwich, instead of getting splashed off the tomatoes ❤.
OK
I ask for it that way every time.
At 1:03, you'll see how to load a pan rack improperly. Pans with food should be loaded top-down, and removed bottom-up.
Not true
the best
Blimpie’s in New Jersey was the best sub shop, other than real Italian shops. What about Quiznos. . .yum
Miss blimpies
Baked fresh does not mean made fresh daily... that premade dough is full of dough conditioners like L-Cysteine, which many people, myself included, do not wish to eat. For what it is, it's not bad.
I quite like Jersey Mike's.
Two things I wish they would do: offer no salt turkey and offer baby spinach if you want your sub in a tub. Even Subway offers spinach. Iceberg lettuce is ok on a sandwich because it offers that crunch we want but as a salad, it’s tasteless and has no nutritional value. I’d get my favorite number 8 as a salad every time and skip the bread IF they offered baby spinach. No salt turkey should be an option because their sandwich meats are very high in sodium which is bad for everyone. In case you didn’t know, you can ask to have your bread scooped out and you will only get the crust which cuts calories and carbs. The rosemary parm bread is tasty and crunchy if they scoop it out but I’d still rather do a salad and no bread at all. While the sandwiches are usually consistent everywhere, the amount of vinegar and oil is not. Seems like every employee does it differently. Some do heavy oil and some heavy vinegar and some hardly any of either. Same with the oregano spice shaker. They all do different amounts. Jersey Mikes is good but I would not say it is consistent when it’s not even consistent in the same restaurant and varies by which person is making it. That’s a training issue because it wasn’t like that a few years ago.
No. Just no.
Cuz there fresh and tasty
You may pay 30% more than at Subway, but you get 40% more food.😊
And get 50% more food poisoning. I've had food poisoning, and it is NOT fun.
Their bread is like Cousin’s Subs bread. Jersey Mikes is good but nothing beats Cousins Pepperoni Melt sub.
So the bread isn’t actually made in house, but in a factory in New Jersey?
Thin cut lettuce 🥬 makes a big difference on a sandwich 🥪
You're Right
Indeed.
I never eat their stuff because they don't make a decent roast beef sub. What's up with that?
I don’t like the roast beef either. It’s fatty and chewy.
It's very hard to find any sort of lean roast beef at any deli. Even the sliced eye round that used to be my favorite now has fat on it. I guess trimming the fat from roast beef equals trimming the profits when roast beef is sold by the pound. I get the Club Sub instead (lean ham and turkey).
Subway better than the rest has more choices of ingredients and breads
I miss the sprouts :(
Would be even better if they had a cheese besides provolone to choose from.
The gluten free is UDIs bread so not sure what they are talking about when they say the gluten free is made with the same water and tastes the same.
I LOVE JERSEY MIKE'S especially on my bday!! SUBWAY is trash!!! One time I asked to purchase the foot long bread only and they girl told me it was $8. WTF!!!
They’re so so .
This is the ONLY sandwich joint uou can buy a rare roast beef sub outside of a Jewish deli. A++++ every, single time, but getting pricey as well.
I definitely don’t smell freshly baked bread at my Jersey Mike’s in Brighton, MI.
That’s the longest commercial I’ve ever seen.
Then you've never been to a time share sales pitch. God, those things go on and on...
There is a rumor Jersey Mikes is for sale. If that happens expect the quality to plummet
There's also a rumor that people can steal your thoughts unless you wear a tin foil lined hat.
That is why I don't place a lot of faith in "rumors". I'll wait for the official press release.
Was this just an ad for Jersey Mikes? Potbelly's Italian Sub with their hot pepper blend, Buck and Honey's TA's Hot Comby, Daly's Shaved Prime Rib, Big Ten Pub's Chicken Bacon Ranch Panini - all in Southern Wisconsin and as good, better, or better value than Jersey Mikes. Using Daly's as an example, the Shaved Prime Rib sandwich with fries is $17, the same size / amount of sub is about $21 from Jersey Mikes. Potbelly's is about $13 for an equivalent sub and is a national chain.
All the Subway lovers have checked out.
The Jersey Mikes took over the closed down Subway in Laguna Beach. Always consistent good sandwiches.
Or they're on their way to the big check out in the sky. The demographic for Subway are now senior citizens on fixed incomes, or the extremely poor. I wouldn't risk my health by eating at Subway, but they have little choice. God bless them.
I ordered a sub 4 years ago and it was 90 % lettuce...gave the sub to the counter employee and I walked out.
Gluten free taste like a sponge. Ijs.
But they don’t have horseradish. I can’t do roast beef without it.
I'm more of a Primo Hoagies man myself
HOW NOBOTY IN USA CAN MAKE A REAL FRENCH CRUNCH BAGUETTE !!!!!!!!!! THE BEST BREAD FOR A SANDWICH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bioengineered veggies ?
Get the Big Kahuna with Extra meat and cheese on Rosemary Parmesan bread.... Its a behemoth of a sammich and will NOT disappoint
just DONT request the original 13 WITHOUT ham. The entire staff will go into panic mode. They stuff the sandwich with the cheapest ham to make it more filling and skimpy with the other ingredients. Same as Chinese restaurants will fill your dish with rice noodles then sprinkle a meat topping
I like Firehouse a bit more
How is your flex that you bake the bread in house while Subway been doing that for 30 years….
The Udi’s Gluten Free roll is disgusting.
Good but rich man’s sub😢
Exponentially better than the third rate Jimmy John’s.
How much did they pay to sponsor this?
Six hundred and eighty-seven dollars, and forty-two cents.
We've visited a few different Jersey Mike's over the years. While the food quality is always consistent & good, the same can't be said for the staff. The staff at the store in my current city is woefully in need of customer service training. On more than a couple of occasions, we've used their mobile app to place orders for pick up. The last two times we were told that the order was ready, drove to the store, & found out that not only was it not ready but they hadn't even started preparing it.
The last visit my husband showed up 5 minutes past the requested pick up time, again the staff had not started making our 3 sandwiches. When my husband pointed out that it was past the pick up time & could they please work on his order before starting another customer's sandwich, one worker said loudly 'Well, you're just too fast!" Then proceeded to ridicule him for being on time by saying to the other customer "I'm sorry sir, you're going to have to wait now because I have to work on HIS order first since he's impatient & making a big stink about it."
My husband wasn't making a stink & politely asked that they complete his order which should have been finished by then. They tended to his order, but continued to "joke around" & try to embarrass him in front of all the other customers standing in line. That was unacceptable. The requested time of 5 pm was for actual pick up, not start the order after 5 pm. This was the 2nd negative experience with the staff at this particular location in Washington. I'm not the first to lodge a complaint about this location as others have also had bad interactions with the crew. They're lazy & just don't care about their customers. It does no good to complain to management because they are just as lackadaisical as the workers... I wish we had another Jersey Mike's nearby where we can take our business to instead.
Our store is just the opposite. I get in my car and drive there to get food and I stand in line waiting for them to fill a bunch of online orders first. Drives me nuts. They will ignore a walk in customer to do online orders.
The problem with the apps saying that your order is done. Is that it's automated and the crew isn't actually notifying you that the order has started or been done. In a busy store this can cause complications between those who come in and wait in line and those who "call in". Everything takes time and sometimes you will have to wait. It's not a guaranteed time
@@TheoriginalBMTI work at JM’s and this is True. We have scheduled pick up times and based on what sandwiches you get it depends on when it’ll be made but we try to be as fast as possible unless it’s busy!!
JUST THE SODIUM IS HIGH
Unbelievably high. How can they cram so much sodium in a sub? I can make a home-made deli sub and it has 1/2 the sodium.
They're so far superior to any other sub shop. They ruined me for any other brand.
I don't go to Jersey Mike's, not enough meat for what they charge.
When they started there was more meat. All the new restaurants seem to do that. They build the customer base with high quantities and then slowly reduce the meats but raise the price. You’ll get the same number of slices of meat and cheese but it’s much thinner.
Do you know what kinds of preservatives are in those cold cuts. Google it.
Who cares

Arguing about which junk food is better than the other is like arguing over which junk disposable Ford or Chevy is better.
Either way it’s American and inferior to most other places 😂
Jk, not trying to raise blood pressure for people who argue about subs. That’s the last thing they need
It’s the bread simple. Otherwise it’s just a sandwich
Jersey Mike subs can be eaten with one hand. Others require both 🙌
Do you have they still have a no poach clause? It's ridiculous that any company would say a term of employment is that you can't work for a competitor, unless you make weapons of some sort. these are people who make sandwiches, if subway down the street will offer them $2 an hour more there is no reason why they shouldnt be allowed to. if a person chooses to stay b/c of other benefits that's great but take away options for employment.

Spare me. The best sandwich is the Cuban sandwich, best constructed by the Columbia in Ybor City.
A close second is La Teresita, various locations.

If these places are so good, why haven't they franchised? They're not in Maryland, so I can't try them. Haven't been to CA in years, neven been to Miami, and Ybor City ? That's in Tampa, but it doesn't look like a very safe neighborhood. So no, I'll wait for them to franchise.

25 bucks for me, but I get a giant size Club Sub with double meat, so there's that. Jersey Mike's is a little stingy with the meat on their normal Club Subs. Yeah, 25 bucks is pricey, but I can make 4 meals out of one giant size double meat sub.
Most sandwiches are 10 bucks.
Old school togos was better, back in the 90s.
Also 10 years ago mikes was better than it is now, more meat and more reasonably priced
All of you who complain are just jealous and ignorant 😅😅😅😅😅

JJ IS WEAK
Like a shitty bread taco is Jimmy John's
A couple of years ago, I stopped at Jersey Mike's in Fort Myers, Florida before I attended a Sleep Studies. I ordered a Meatball Sub and quite frankly, I was not impressed. The sauce tasted like crap and was burnt. The Meatballs were too soft. When I left, I was asked if I enjoyed my sub and when I told them politely no and why, all I got was a stare that might have killed me if it was lethal. I will stick with Jimmy Johns, their ingredients are always fresh, and their bread is second to none. Sorry Jersey Mike's, I always speak the truth when the opportunity arises.
