Hi, Good morning. Honestly, it's optional.. depends on the tech who's doing it..me Sometimes I do it, and sometimes I just put a drip pan underneath and get it done, haha .I don't mind getting alil dirty hahaha 😄 ..hope that kinda answers your question 🙂

Would you recommend removing fuel fuse and running until it shuts off so that there wont be any fuel pressure when removing the filter?
