      I have a question for you, I have a 2006 Ford F150 5.4L 3v triton. The engine shakes the whole truck, I've replaced the alternator, the battery, and spark plugs and it still shakes when I idle and stalls a lot. What do you think it might be?

    • @grantmoseley2712
      @grantmoseley2712 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James Gregory What about the VCT Solenoids? Have you changed those yet? I also have a 2006 F-150 5.4 3V. When I bought my truck it did shake and stall. I installed new VCT Solenoids. Then it stopped shaking and stalling. Hope this helps.

    I viewed your video many times as I (78 years old) prepared to change the fuel filter on my 2005 F-150, paying careful attention to your comments and even your hand positions. Everything went smoothly and without any problem at all. Following completion and successfully having no evidence of leakage, and following
    a test drive, I could not wait to share my success with my wife and grown sons. Thank you for your outstanding video.

      I have same truck. It turns out I love this truck. It doesn't hurt my back like almost all other trucks do, has great power for a gas truck, decent Milage, crewcab has great leg room. It's just a bit on the picky side lol

    This video is an oldie but a goodie...had a little up and down play with my Reverb Stealth, bought the bleed kit on Amazon, did the bleed (bubbles indeed) and also discovered that the air pressure was only 150 lbs! Got everything squared away with the outstanding advice of this video and now it works like new again. Thank you, sir.

    Thank you so much for this vid! It helped me. I am learning how to do some things on my own for a '98 F-250 Light Duty I purchased. I would have completed this in like 15 minutes tops but someone had one of the line fittings crimped/bent on to the old filter! Fun time getting that off!!! Thank you again for putting up your vids....in my case, 5-6 have already taught me & helped me complete some tasks on my own. Kudos!!!

    Happy to have seen this video. I watched a few others that did it another method. Your method was much simpler. My filter was quite old 5+ years and 40k miles. A little tough to remove. WD-40 on the filter bracket helped a lot. I had to watch how you unclipped the hose after the bend a few times as your hand was in the way. It wouldn't release until I noticed the filter was not pushed all the way to the tang. That little bit of about 1/2" was all it needed and the rest just a few minutes. I have a 4x4 and I had to remove the skid plate to access easier. Just 4 13mm bolts. Thanks for the video.

    Good info as usual. I would like to add one thing if you don’t mind... instead of letting the excess fuel spill all over the place (yours was minimal) I pull the fuel pump fuse. This allows the excess fuel to be burned from the line prior to the vehicle shutting off; absolutely no residual pressure. Just a suggestion.

    I didn't depressurize the fuel system either, but used a 5/16" or 3/8" rubber cap on the old filter while fumbling with the quick release connector. Total spillage was a couple of tablespoons.

    My hoses (2008 F150 5.4) are slightly different. The line from the tank had an extra 8 in line on the end. The blue clip was on the end of the fuel line coming from the tank and the short fuel line was connected to the filter with a completely different type of connector that was red. Also the first filter I ordered , a Moto FG-1114 had different diameter tubing than mine. Ordered a Napa Gold filter and it was the correct sizing. Love this channel. Decided to rebuild my '08 Lariat with only 90k instead of buying a new rig based on this channel. I figure 20 grand I will be better than new including custom paint, wheels, exhaust, you name it. Thanks Brian.

    hey what does it mean if there's gas and bubbles visible in the fuel vapor return assembly (at the clear plastic Y joint near the throttle body)? Sometimes the truck dies after a hard rev and the gas and bubbles are visible sucking back into the throttle. Is that related to a bad PCV system or is the charcoal canister at fault?

You provided some really great tips and I appreciate all that you have done. You have helped me immensely! I have a 2004 F150 with 193k and could you steer me in the direction of finding the procedures I need such as cam shaft positions for phaser installation and which intake/exhaust I need to relieve pressure using screw driver trick. Both banks please. I think I remember everything else.
