Personally I find the Rizomas as more for aesthetics vs functionality. They look great but just like the stock mirrors one cannot see behind very well without moving an elbow. I ended up putting on a bar-end mirror which allows me to see clearly without vibration behind me (especially for cops). The bar-end does make me more aware while lane splitting because they are offset about 1 inch wider than my stock mirrors.
This is the best comparison video I have seen. I found your review based on intelligence rather than emotion. My view: 1. Stock mirrors vibrating at moderate speeds makes them useless. 2. Rizoma Stealth mirrors are a good concept, but they should do options for different size mirrors. Reduced visibility on a fast bike is a huge NO for me. 3. Rizoma mirrors are too expensive for what they are - I could buy a used mid spec laptop for that money! 3. Bar end mirrors offer the best visibility, design (CRG/MotoGadget Blade/Rizoma Cut-Edge mirrors etc.) and cost. I appreciate this video as it saved me from purchasing the Rizoma - thank you!
Thank you I appreciate that. Your point of view is spot on. For some, this video convinced them to buy them, for others, it convinced them to not. I installed them on my RS660 and I did not install them on my RSV4. I just couldn’t justify another $500 expense for something that doesn’t offer me much. Don’t get me wrong. If they were free, I would have them on my RSV4. I do not regret installing them on my RS660. But especially based on my riding style, I cannot justify the expense twice. For some, it could be a perfect choice.✌️
I'm on the fence about this one. On the one hand I totally agree. The stock mirrors are garbage at highway speeds. On the other hand I really wish the rizomas were taller when folded up as a mirror. The rizomas looks slick that's for sure. It's a real hard call to make at the $400.00 price point. If the made a slightly taller mirror is seems like it would be an obvious win for rizoma.
I agree, but if the Rizomas where slightly taller they wouldn’t look as slick. For me the one thing Rizomas are missing is a foldable option just like the stock mirrors, in case you drop your bike or someone walks by it and accidentally bends the mirror with their body. Its one of my fears with the Rizomas when I park my bike at bike meets. I’ve seen it happen. A Panigale V4 tipped over and the mirror bent. They’re not cheap to replace.
I finally pulled the trigger. You right. Since they are so much shorter than the OEM ones, you really do have to move your hand to see with them. That being said, I honestly have to move my hands a lot of the time with the stock mirrors anyway. It might take some getting used to for sure. I do agree with you about the mirrors folding. That's a concern of mine too. Honestly I'm less concerned about having to replace the mirrors and more concerned about the mounding points and fairing getting damaged in a drop.
I have seen a lot of Rizomas bend from tip overs and non had the fairings or mounting points damaged. The Rizomas may seem like they are very stiff, but they are aluminum and they bend like paper when the bike falls. Plus the first thing that gets the hit are the handlebars and then the mirrors. You will have to be one of the most unlucky guy to have your fairing break from the mirrors. Don’t even think about it. But you will get used to of the Rizomas in no time.
Great video! Lol, I'm 185cm tall and don't have much room on this bike's seat, and I don't know if it's because of this, but with my original mirrors, I have a perfect view... of my arms 😅 so I don't think I'll have much difference with the Rizoma ones! PS: If I didn't want to lose the front turn signals, is there a way?
You get a bit less viewing angle with the Rizoma but nothing too significant. It all comes down to preference. If you remove the mirrors you will lose the front turn signals. There are two solutions to this. You either install Gabros map with an Upmap and you get the turn signals in the headlights. Or you install a Rizoma turn signal kit.

Love the video and actual comparison. How are your opinions holding up? Still favoring the Rizomas? Also...i saw that head turn at the girl in a bikini at 10:16 😎😎
😂😂 Gotta keep my head on a swivel 😛 I may be changing my mind a bit about the Rizomas. It looks like I won’t be installing them on my RSV4 this time. The reason behind it is not functionality. I actually still prefer Rizoma Mirrors over stock mirrors. But I can’t find myself dropping $500 again on mirrors that I wont even use. This time I might be going with plain block offs. I never used my Rizomas on my RS660 anyway. I had them for legal purposes only, in case I get pulled over. But with 217Hp and a GP22 I don’t think I will be pulled over anytime soon lol. And if I do, trust me the fine will not be for not having mirrors. So as much as I like Rizoma mirrors, it looks like I won’t be installing them again.
My ecu bike is stock, by installing those mirorros and disconnecting the turn signals, will I get some sort of alarm service on my dash? I have a abs recall, and I was wondering if a ecu reflash could fix the alarm it it would even occur. Thank you in advance.
By disconnecting the mirror turn signals you will not get an alarm service on your dash. The only thing that will happen is that your rear turn signals will flash faster. But if you install Gabros race map, your turn signals will move to the headlights.
Did you do ECU flash to European one to have blinkers in your headlights ? If so can you make a short for it please? I debating if I should drop cash on UpMap, rizoma stealth and sc project. Thank you, loved the video.

I believe whether its worth paying for the Rizoma or not, is depended on the individual. I prefer no mirrors at all. But I need to have something to present as a “mirror” to law enforcement in case Im pulled over. Thats literally the only reason I need mirrors. I never use them anyway. They are always in the closed position. I don’t commute with my bike and I only do fast rides in the weekend. By fast, I mean there is no one to look for behind me when I switch lanes. If traffic laws didn’t require mirrors, I wouldn’t install them. I would just remove the stock mirrors and use block offs. But choosing between the stock mirrors and Rizoma, then 100% I would choose Rizoma. Now if I was using my bike to commute and ride at normal speeds without splitting lanes then I would probably save my $500 for something else.
I've had these mirrors since before I even got my bike. One of the 1st mods I did but you can't see shit out of them. They definitely look cool but not very functional imo.
With your hands on the handle bars, you simply see less than what you see with the stock mirrors. But even with that, I still prefer the Rizomas for my style of riding. But there are multiple other reasons why one would be better of with the stock mirrors. Its all about individual preference.
With your clip ons you probably have a little better view I would imagine. I don't regret buying them and they look sick, just look over my shoulder more often since I can only see my hands basically with stock bars
@@ALFAVITAGA probably gonna move to clip ons at some point like you and want to get race switches to go with as well but first want a steering stabilizer I think
