Hi Raul, that's a great question and I think if the filter is restricted it would present as more of a low air flow issue and probably not affect the temperature. If it's never been changed and it is really stopped up it certainly won't hurt to replace it anyhow as part of your regular maintenance. My guess is more of a low Freon situation or possibly a cooling fan for the radiator AC condenser area not operating. It is also possible one of the controls in the dash is not working correctly. Possibly cycle your temperature control full hot and back to full cold and also turn on the recirculation button. Hope you find some success here thanks for posting
@@Craigs_car_care thank you for reply, I took it to MORITZ Chevrolet, they said it was radiator , $1400 it wasn't, I took it back and they now said it was cooling fan , same problem!!! I don't think they changed anything!!! it only blows kinda hot while idle, engine also overheats in idle, only 40k miles,
@@gtzrg Wow, sorry you having to deal with this. With an overheat and the AC not working there are two possibilities why the AC is not cooling. 1.On some cars when the cars computers sense the overheating it shuts off the AC to try and protect the engine and also force the driver to have the overheat looked at. 2. The overheat and the AC not working is being caused by the same thing. Typically a shop will first verify the clients complaint (over heating) Then look for the Cause (low coolant/ coolant leaks/engine damage/thermostat and or water pump inoperative/ Stopped up radiator/fans not working from wiring issues or relays or bad sensors. Once the cause is determined a correction is recommended and the repair completed and verified it is fixed or if additional service or repairs are needed before getting it back to the client. Some cars can be a real challenge to figure out. Good solid testing and inspections will win the day.
@@Craigs_car_care it seems you are the expert I need, I don't know where you are but if you're in the Dallas Fort Worth area let me know, we need a good mechanic that really knows, not like the chevy dealership that only makes people spend useless money!!!

Thanks for the video. The dealer wanted to charge me 180$
Your Welcome and thanks for the shout out. :)
@@Craigs_car_care no problem bro. I'll be using your channel again
does this filter have to do anything with blowing not cold air while on idle?
