I have always had Fords, and my wife got this Blazer, this is the biggest pain! The screws are in awkward locations and strip easily. Somebody lost a screw when my wife let them check the filter and didn’t say anything.
General Motors has gone back and forth on clips for years it seems. I think part of it is, if they dont use clips, people might be more inclined to take it to the dealer to do the work than try and attempt it themselves.
Thanks for Tech Tip, why GM did not stick with quick clip disconnects is a wonder.
Good question! Thanks
As a GM employee, it's because they break easily and screws are cheaper than clips.
After changing the air filter does the message on the screen reset itself with a clean filter?
No i don’t think so.

An oil change video would be awesome!
It is very easy. Using ramps of floor jack to gain access?
That was a pain. Wonder why it doesn't use clips like my other cars
You’re right.
