Well, you'll have casual players, you'll have exceptional players, you'll have average speedrunners and you'll have top tier speedrunners. Nothing wrong with that (and I am the same way 'frustrated' as you are, but then with A Link to the Past 😉).
I've beaten this game many times, t never knew the mining cart minigame had a horn. I was like "WTF is that noise!?" then the explanation. Fun little tidbit to know.

it's a timing based special...and each time after 13 it gets harder and harder to hit 100 jumps..you just keep hitting Y at the right timing until you miss or hit 100 jumps...
They explained during the video that during the super jumps. Once you get to 13 consecutive jumps. The timing window to hit the Y button to keep jumping, is 3 frames. Super Mario RPG runs at 60fps. So you have like 120 milliseconds to press the Y button at the right time.
See if I play this game I can't even accept it as a win if I don't have Masher, Frying Pan, and Drill Claw and Star Gun, oh and Sonic Symbol and Lazy Shell. Also, super jumps on that snake fight are really different? Well, I guess I'm not insane after all then.
Chris the smrpg speed run community does Japanese Real Time Attack (JRTA) which is time start on power on till end of credits. I think they mentioned it somewhere in the run. Typical RTA is start of player input but it's just what's standard for their speedrun community
